Suspected Attacker  Sometimes a victim manages to take a gun from an attacker.   Less often, an attacker takes a gun from the victim.   In this case, the attacker took the gun, tried to shoot the victim, but missed.  It started when the aggressor attacked a neighbor.   From thenewsstar.com: According to the police report, Smith began banging the victim’s head on the concrete saying repeatedly, “I’m going to kill you.” The victim reported losing consciousness as Smith gained his keys. The second victim grabbed his pistol, and drove across the street to aid his neighbor.  The area is fairly rural,...

I'm sure most of you have seen the ad(s) made by LA State Senator Elbert Guillory. The ad(s) are geared to the Black Communities in LA, NC and GA, telling them, more or less: "The Democrats and Limousine Liberals are keeping you on the plantation and do nothing for you until they need your votes." The NC ad, for example ends with: "It's time to send Kay Hagan home." If you've not seen the ad, just click on YouTube above. Now, to my main point: And this is NOT "Identity Politics", it's just smart politics. I think the RNC needs...

Things must be going even worse for the Democrats than the polls suggest. The campaign of incumbent Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., for example, has hit rock bottom. How else to explain her lame attempt to blame her electoral peril on racism and sexism? Modern illiberals are incapable of thinking their record or their ideas could lead to misfortune.

In comments sure to cascade into regional races across the South, embattled Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) told NBC's Chuck Todd on Thursday that Southern racism is to blame for President Barack Obama's unpopularity. "Why does President Obama have a hard time in Louisiana?" asked Todd. “Let me be very, very honest with you," said Landrieu. "The South has not always been the friendliest place for African-Americans. It's been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader." Landrieu added: “It has not always been a good place for women, to be...

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) told Chuck Todd today that the reason Barack Obama is unpopular in Louisiana because the state is full of racists and sexists. “And, number two, to be very, very honest with you the South is not always the friendliest place for African Americans. It’s been a difficult time for the president to present himself in a very positive light as a leader. It’s not always been a good place for women to be able to present ourselves. It’s a conservative place.” Governor Bobby Jindal (an Indian American) released a statement in response to the outrageous attack....

Conservative Sen. Ted Cruz is endorsing Louisiana Republican congressional candidate Zach Dasher, adding to the candidate's roster of high-wattage support. "Zach Dasher is a conservative with a backbone to stand up to career politicians in both parties, to help lead the fight to repeal Obamacare, to stop amnesty, to defend our conservative values," Cruz, a Texas Republican, says in a video endorsement of Dasher released Wednesday. The Louisiana businessman is among a field of candidates running against scandal-scarred Republican Rep. Vance McAllister for a spot in the race's December runoff. McAllister, whose political ambitions took a pounding when he was...

Well, that got ugly pretty fast. In the last debate before Tuesday’s Senate primary election, the three major candidates took to the LSU Manship School of Journalism podiums (or is it podia?) and gave the voters an hour’s worth of speechifying as to why they deserve our votes. Or in Mary Landrieu’s case, why she’s ready to become a lobbyist. **SNIP** It might have been as good an answer as she could have given, and since Cassidy had already received a max-out donation from Bollinger for this cycle even before he declared for the Senate he probably wasn’t quite the...

Sen. Mary Landrieu is flailing. She doesn’t own a home in Louisiana, but insists that her 7,300 square foot, $2.5 million house on Capitol Hill isn’t a “mansion.” She’s attacked her main Republican opponent for being soft on immigration, hoping that voters will pay no heed to her own voting record and rhetoric. She says she supports the Keystone pipeline and “fixes” to Obamacare (for which she cast the deciding vote and pledged to be “100 percent” accountable), but hasn’t been influential enough to persuade her own party’s leadership to allow votes on either issue. And Sean Trende’s deep data...

The event will be held at The Embassy located  at  1200 Franklin Avenue, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. It appears that they will be giving out cash.   $75 will be given to those who turn in a handgun, $200 will be...

No Ammo is Available for the .442 Rimfire Tranter shown Bluffing with a gun often works.   Most criminals do not wish to be shot; they run away.   But sometimes, the criminal is drugged, crazy, or  determined, and they "call" the bluff, often with direct, aggressive action.  It is then that you need a few skills to keep from being hurt or killed.   First, do not allow the criminal to get close (within five feet) of you.   Inside that distance, it is very hard to stop a determined person who has the advantage of action over reaction....

A new, in-depth analysis of the closely-watched Louisiana Senate race shows that Republicans can cleanly defeat Sen. Mary Landrieu on Nov. 4 — saving millions of political dollars and putting the GOP one step closer to a Senate majority — but they need one thing to happen first: Third-place Republican candidate Rob Maness needs to bow out. In a study exclusively obtained by The Daily Caller, data and analytics firm 0ptimus conducted an opinion-read of 5,711 likely voters to find out if a Republican dropping out of the Louisiana “jungle primary” would make a difference on Nov. 4; if the...

Senator Mary Landrieu (D-LA) voted for Senator Joe Manchin's (D-WV) failed gun control bill in April 2013 and is endorsed by gun control proponent Michael Bloomberg, but she is claiming pro-gun status in her bid for a fourth term in the Senate. According to the Shreveport Times, Landrieu's campaign is trying to put distance between the Senator and her gun control vote by pointing to other votes she "cast favoring gun ownership."

The overnight slaying of a Domino's Pizza delivery driver in an apparent Mid-City carjacking left the victim's co-workers devastated and his employer furious about the level of violence on New Orleans' streets. "It just doesn't make any sense to me," said Glenn Mueller, CEO of local Domino's franchisee RPM Pizza LLC. "We, as the citizens of New Orleans, need to take back our city. This could have happened to anybody. We really need to make our community safer." New Orleans police said the 35-year-old employee had just delivered a pizza to a regular customer at an apartment building in the...
