The country's top five theater circuits have decided not to play Sony's The Interview, a knowledgeable source tells The Hollywood Reporter. Regal Entertainment, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, Carmike Cinemas and Cineplex Entertainment have all decided against showing the film. Carmike Cinemas confirmed its decision to drop the film on Tuesday. The other chains did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Sony also had no immediate comment.

“The Interview” —  the Seth Rogen and James Franco comedy about killing Kim Jong Un at the center of the Sony hacking scandal —  had it’s world premiere last night in Los Angeles. Leading up to the premiere, a series of scary cyber attacks hit the studio, releasing everything from employees’ Social Security Numbers to execs’ entire email inboxes. So it was no surprise when Sony announced that the premiere would be low key, with just a red carpet for photo-ops but no interviews. PYONGYANG, North Korea — North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has been deposed in a violent overthrow led by Dennis Rodman, the former NBA basketball star who had been serving as Mayor of Pyongyang since earlier this year.
