Adolf Hitler found time amid the bloodiest war in history to crack jokes with his cronies. Hitler the comedian is one side of the Fuhrer painted in a new memoir called ‘The Last Witness‘ by one of the Nazi leader's bodyguards. Comedian: Hitler often cracked jokes according to his bodyguard Hitler, the mass killer, “had a small fund of jokes,“ recalled Misch, who is now 90. “The boss was said to be particularly fond of a couple jokes and told the best ones over and over,“ he said. While Misch did not divulge Hitler's favourite jokes ahead of the book's...

Excerpt.... And bloggers like Scottykazz on Superman homepage says "I hope his reportedly insane work as the Joker didn't put him over the edge." A blogger named Ojacko points to The Internet Media Database's Batman Returns entry: “Ledger found the role extremely difficult, and suffered insomnia as a result.” 'It is a physically and mentally draining role (his Joker is a “psychopathic, mass-murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy”......“Last week I probably slept an average of two hours a night,” he said. “I couldn’t stop thinking. My body was exhausted, and my mind was still going.”

LONDON (Reuters) - Bad news for Coco and Blinko -- children don't like clowns and even older kids are scared of them. The news that will no doubt have clowns shedding tears was revealed in a poll of youngsters by researchers from the University of Sheffield who were examining how to improve the decor of hospital children's wards. The study, reported in the Nursing Standard magazine, found all the 250 patients aged between four and 16 they quizzed disliked the use of clowns, with even the older ones finding them scary. "As adults we make assumptions about what works for...

Sweet poster, IMO. Clever way of conveying both Batman and the Joker in one image. Also, the big story going around is that last night, the much anticipated 6-minute IMAX prologue for the "Batman Begins" sequel premiered in New York, with a personal introduction by Chris Nolan. Here's an article from MTV.com, but I'm going to give you a big spoiler warning; don't click unless you don't mind a few spoilers. But here are some good excerpts:'Dark Knight' Opening Scenes Reveal 'Radical' New Joker"NEW YORK — If the opening frames of "The Dark Knight" are any indication, Batman will have his hands full...

It’s been the way of film advertising lately to release a small snippet from the movie in advance to the movies release....it looks as if Batman the Dark Knight will be screening a 6 or 7 minute trailer this December...(There's more at the link but most of it's irrelevant.)By the way, this was recently confirmed to be true, although I couldn't find a link. There WILL be a 7-minute prologue to "The Dark Knight" this December, and it will premiere ONLY in IMAX theaters before the Will Smith movie "I Am Legend."

Minnesota Senate candidate Al Franken, a Democrat, announced today his campaign had raised more than $1.3 million in the first quarter of the year, finishing the period with over $1 million in the bank. Franken, a former "Saturday Night Live'' performer and more recently a liberal radio talk show host, raised the money since announcing his candidacy on Feb. 14. The campaign is still finalizing its numbers. The filing deadline is April 15. Franken and fellow Democrat Mike Ciresi are hoping to take on GOP Sen. Norm Coleman, although Ciresi has not yet filed a statement of candidacy. Coleman's campaign...

This shocking announcement has been made from "Batman-on-film.com." I am kind of disappointed, to say the least. Personally, I was pulling for Australian actor Lachy Hulme, and he seemed to be the one most likely to get the role.I'm still not 100% positive this news announcement is true, but the editor of b.o.f. seems to think it's a done deal.Heath Ledger was in "Brokeback Mountain," "The Patriot," and "A Knight's Tale."

Dear : Earlier today, I voted in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee against the nomination of Dr. Condoleezza Rice for Secretary of State. This vote is an expression of my determination that we hold the Bush administration accountable. Dr. Rice is a principal architect, implementer, and defender of a series of Administration policies that have not made our country as secure as we should be and have alienated much-needed allies in our common cause of winning the war against terrorism. Regrettably, I did not see in Dr. Rice's testimony before our committee any acknowledgment of the need to change course...

So there's another Bin Laden tape out, the first in a long while. This could be seen as an attempt by Bin Laden to influence the election against Bush; his mocking comments towards the President certainly make it come off that way. But I don't think it will work, because of a theory I'll call "The Batman Effect". Batman is constantly trying to put the Joker out of business for good. But if you haven't noticed, he generally never quite manages. The Joker is never, ever truly vanquished; he'll always be back for more. But when the Joker's on the...

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny . . . what great fun you are to watch. Sincerely, I thank you for all the great belly-laughs these past weeks. Y'know, Johnny, I've been watching political campaigns for well over 40 years and I've seen some really stupid ones. Yours is quickly rising right up there with the top four or five silliest, too. Of course, you don't realize that yet, do you Johnny. But, Johnny, it's really your own fault. It's a leadership thing and leadership is something you know very, very little about. That will become rather obvious if you just look around...

OTTAWA (CP) - Some of the first patients to smoke Health Canada's government-approved marijuana say it's "disgusting" and want their money back. "It's totally unsuitable for human consumption," said Jim Wakeford, 58, an AIDS patient in Gibsons, B.C. "It gave me a slight buzziness for about three to five minutes, and that was it. I got no other effect from it." Barrie Dalley, a 52-year-old Toronto man who uses marijuana to combat the nausea associated with AIDS, said the Health Canada dope actually made him sick to his stomach. "I threw up," Dalley said Monday. "It made me nauseous because...

The Iraqi "deck of death" is such a hot seller that U.S. playing card companies are fighting one another for a piece of the action. United States Playing Cards of Ohio recently sent cease-and-desist letters to a dozen competitors that raced to reproduce the U.S. military's deck of the most-wanted Iraqis. They even hired Pinkerton detectives to enforce the orders. Liberty Playing Cards of Texas recently had to destroy 70,000 decks of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and his henchmen after inadvertently infringing on the Ohio company's trademark Hoyle joker. At stake is a claim to the biggest thing ever to...
