We all know CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or Fox wasn't going to do it. "Imam’s Terrorist Ties Exposed by Local News Station," from Judicial Watch, November 26 (thanks to Pamela Geller): While the Obama Justice Department tours the nation condemning unfounded discrimination against Muslims at their place of worship, a local Florida news station uncovers an imam’s ties to a blind sheik behind the first World Trade Center bombing in the early 90s. Not surprisingly, the administration’s campaign to combat mosque intolerance is being heavily promoted while the shocking imam terrorist story gets swept under the rug. We only know...

A Florida pastor considered to be President Obama's spiritual adviser says he was disappointed by the president's decision to publicly announce his support for same-sex marriage. The Rev. Joel Hunter told MyFoxOrlando that the president called him before his announcement aired. Hunter, the evangelical pastor of the 15,000 member Northland church in Longwood, said the decision makes it harder to support the president though he will continue to do so.

First lady Michelle Obama Saturday visited the Florida megachurch where one of President Obama's spiritual advisers is the pastor. She encouraged faith-based groups to join her campaign against obesity, saying "your bodies are temples given to you by God." "Sometimes folks won't do it if it wasn't said right here," she said, speaking to about 3,000 people from more than 120 congregations and organizations, representing over 15 faiths and denominations, at Northland, A Church Distributed in central Florida. The Rev. Joel Hunter, a spiritual adviser to President Barack Obama and who serves as senior pastor of the Northland church, introduced...

LAKE FOREST, CALIFORNIA, February 9, 2012, (LifeSiteNews.com) – Rick Warren, perhaps the nation’s most influential evangelical pastor, has tweeted he would “go to jail†rather than cave in to a government mandate that violates God’s commandments. Pastor Rick Warren, pastor of the 20,000-member Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, tweeted his defiance of the Obama administration’s requirements that religious institutions cover all forms of contraception, including abortifacients like Ella and the IUD, as part of their health care plans. On Tuesday, Warren addressed the issue three times on his Twitter feed. “I’d go to jail rather than cave in...

He teaches that the Bible mandates Christians combat so-called global warming and even helped to make a tool kit to aid pastors in preaching about "climate change." He resigned from the Christian Coalition after the group wouldn't broaden its agenda to include "social justice" and fighting "global warming." He works with a left-wing think tank seeking a common-ground "third way" between progressives and evangelicals on issues such as abortion and stem cell research. Meet Joel Hunter, a member of President Obama's faith council... Hunter is the senior pastor of Northland, A Church Distributed, a congregation of 15,000 that worships at...

If you want to know what someone is like…look at who their friends are! As People Question Obama's Faith they again look to those Around him First there was Jeremiah Wright, then Jim Wallis, and now Joel Hunter (pictured), a spiritual advisor for Barack Obama who is defending the president's Christianity. Hunter, pastor of Northland, A Church Distributed, however, has some curious ties to anti-Semitic groups and individuals. Should his endorsement of Obama be considered credible in light of these associations? Ted Shoebat has done significant research into the background of Hunter (article below) and insists that while the pastor...

The Religious Left is successfully redefining what it means to be a conservative evangelical by misrepresenting what it means to be a conservative evangelical. In a recent conference call hosted by Faith in Public Life, one of the emerging voices of the Religious Left, Dr. Joel Hunter, said: There’s also a change in the voices that are defining what is conservative now, and what is evangelical. In the past couple of decades you’ve had some very loud voices on both sides – hard right, hard left – and when those were the only choices, then of course many evangelicals are...

CANBERRA, Australia -- Recent short-term cooling of global temperatures shouldn't be misinterpreted as meaning an end to global warming, an Australian expert says. Barrie Wanker-Hunt of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization says overall global warming is happening despite natural variability that can bring periods where the global climate can be either cooler or warmer than usual. Seasonal cold spells can still be expected under enhanced greenhouse conditions, he says. "Future changes in global temperature as the concentration of greenhouse gases increases will not show a simple year-on-year increase but will vary around a background of long-term warming," he...

Man is not the primary cause of change in the Arctic says book by Russian scientistsForget the orthodox view of Arctic climate change – this book has a very different message. (h/t to WUWT commenter Enneagram)Published last year, this is a synthesis of work by the Russian Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI). It sets out the data and experience of scientists over 85 years, drawing together much already published in the area. For a book that is billed under a climate change heading, this is actually more an antidote to the hype usually associated with warming in the Arctic....

For months now, behind the scenes, David and I have discussed just how powerful questions can be. Sometimes it’s not what you know, but what you ask that makes the most powerful point. For his Heartland presentation last Friday, David delivered a themed compilation of example after example of the Western Climate Establishment allowing mistakes, errors or biases to accumulate — each factor on it’s own might be hard to pin down, but the sum total of actions (and inactions) forms a wholly consistent pattern. This is Part I. These photos speak for themselves, but as far as I know, they...

The establishment barks “cherry-picking” at skeptics who claim a particular year was cold, or quiet, or less stormy, but where are the caveats when the mass media churns out record single “hot year” headlines as if they matter: 2010 is hottest year EVER!What’s not obvious is that breaking those records depends on the data set. According to satellite data there have been no “hottest year ever” records since 1998, though as it happens, NASA doesn’t seem too keen on using data recorded from space. Go figure. With ground stations, every single station requires hand-made “adjustments” and many stations are ignored completely....

There are two strong points here: The Argo system is state of the art, and public property. Yet the most recent Argo Data of ocean temperatures is virtually impossible to get. We could assume that if it showed definitive warming, we’d see those graphs on breakfast cereal packages. Ocean temperatures trump everything. Where is that warming? The same people who are paid to analyze the data sets are the ones who also manage them: they decide who has access. It’s a system without external independent checks, and the lack of audits makes for a loophole big enough to drive a...

The first and second discussed air temperatures, the third discussed ocean temperatures.] They Don’t Tell You: The Current Global Warming Trend is Over 300 Years Old A Scene on the Ice by Hendrick Avercamp, circa 1600 Satellite data only goes back to 1979, and global land-thermometer records only go back to 1850. Before that we have to resort to “proxies”, which are various natural phenomena from which temperature can be deduced. As we...

The public might not understand the science, but they do understand cheatingDr. David Evans6 October 2010[A series of articles reviewing the western climate establishment and the media. The first and second discussed air temperatures, the third discussed ocean temperatures, and the fourth discussed past temperatures.] Notice How They Never Directly Compare Temperature With Human Emissions of CO2? According to the man-made theory of global warming promoted by the western climate establishment, the recent global warming is due to human emissions of greenhouse gases, which are dominated by carbon dioxide (CO2).So let’s compare the alleged cause (human emissions of CO2) with...

I know the Hockey Stick is old news to most blog readers here, but it’s easy to forget that the people reading the mainstream news (ie: most of the West) have no idea of the scale of the audacity involved. Up until the 1998 MBH paper came out, it was widely understood that there was a Medieval Warm Period, indeed there were hundreds of papers available at the time. The Hockey Stick Graph completely rewrote everything, yet was accepted and widely promoted without anyone so much as asking for the data… until, of course, McIntyre and McKitrick tried. It will...
