A war with Israel is practically inevitable, Iranian General Mohammad Ali Jafari said Saturday. At a meeting of the top echelon of the Revolutionary Guards, which Jafari commands, the general said that “the shameful and cancerous tumour that is Israel is seeking war against us, but it is not known when that war will happen. They now consider war as the only way to confront us, but they are so stupid that their (US) masters should stop them.” Jafari was quite emphatic that a war was nearly inevitable. "This (war) will eventually happen as the (Islamic) revolution is moving rapidly...

Keep in mind that this is not a confirmed report but is from FoxNews. It also comes as the possibility of Iran having enough highly-enriched uranium for the bomb may still be low. However, when a report this serious comes from a reputable news source, it must be taken seriously. The news comes from an Iranian dissident group and may be part of a multi-national attempt to build nuclear warheads. This comes from a former CIA spy that could be part of a very, very interesting chapter in Iranian nuclear history. This also comes after Iranian threats of a mystery...

The commander of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps has officially acknowledged that some members have been supportive of the country's opposition movement. General Mohammad Ali Jafari said that it is better "to convince" guards who support the opposition than to get rid of them. "Many of the ambiguities have been resolved and they have been convinced that the move was wrong," Jafari was quoted by Fars as saying, according to Radio Farda. "This is better than to physically deal with them and eliminate them." Jafari's comments mark the first time an Iranian official has acknowledged publicly that some members of...

Brigadier General Mohammad-Ali Ja'fari said on Friday the Iranian nation is ready to fend off any attacks from the West. Lost amid the news of all the bloodletting in Iraq is an important political development: The Kurds have switched sides. In the first parliament after the first set of elections, they allied themselves with the Shiite slate to produce the current Shiite-dominated government led by Ibrahim al-Jafari. Now the Kurds have joined with the opposition Sunni and secular parties to oppose the Shiite bloc. The result is two large competing coalitions: (a) the Kurd-Sunni-secular bloc, which controls about 140 seats in the 275-seat parliament and would constitute the barest majority, and (b) the Shiite bloc, which itself is a coalition...

PARIS, 2 Oct. (IPS) Under pressures from the Americans, Israel has drastically limited the scope of its decades-long secret operations and cooperation with the Iraqi Kurds in the one hand and also a lucrative trade realized by Kurdish, Iraqi and Jordanian intermediaries, according to reports in the French centrist newspaper “Le Figaro”. As from early 2004, more than 1.200 agents from Mossad, Israel’s intelligence and secret services and the military intelligence used to operate in the Iraqi Kurdistan, training Kurdish peshmergas, or freedom fighters, and forming special commandos to face the millions of Shi’ites manipulated in one way or another...

Hillary Clinton has caused an international incident after she criticized Iraq's leading candidate to become prime minister as a result of last month's historic election, prompting a sharp rebuke. LONDON, Aug 6 (AFP) - Iraqi Vice President Ibrahim al-Jafari implicitly criticised the United States on Friday, saying the reported deaths of 300 insurgents in Najaf was "not a civilised way" to rebuild his nation.
