"Prognosticators lay out most competitive races following Glenn Youngkin’s big Virginia win After a big win in blue Virginia and near-upset in bluer New Jersey, Republicans are hoping for a red wave in governor's races for 2022 – looking at potential pickups mainly in Midwestern states. President Biden has a low approval rating, and historically a president’s party takes a beating in midterm elections. But Republicans are facing the departure of two incumbent governors in blue states, while multiple incumbents are facing primaries as former President Trump also will likely play a big role in the midterm election. One template...

Watching the shenanigans in the still contested New Jersey gubernatorial election, I have to wonder whether there has ever been a truly honest election in state history. From my own experience, I would say probably not and, as I also learned, there are a thousand ways to cheat. In 1982, through an odd sequence of events, I found myself with a ringside seat on a routinely crooked Newark mayoral election. I had been offered a job as “associate director” of the 1,000-employee Newark Housing and Redevelopment Authority. This being a recession year, and I needing to finish my Ph.D. dissertation,...

MacCallum said, “I thought this was stunning. This is from ‘Saturday Night Live,’ they went off on Winsome Sears on the Update segment of ‘SNL’ the other night. Watch this.

Glenn Youngkin, good man as he seems to be, is not a stand-in for active and engaged parents. If they leave the field, he will not succeed.Watch the video for a monologue followed by an interview with Russ Vought, former OMB director and current president of the Center for Renewing America, and Shaun Rieley, senior director for advancement and programs at The American Conservative, a doctor of political philosophy, and combat veteran of the War on Terror.Tuesday was one heck of a night in Virginia. New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy’s (D) campaign is calling on his Republican opponent Jack Ciattarelli to concede last week’s election, arguing that he no longer has a path to victory. Ciattarelli, a former state legislature, had remained silent on the results of the election since last Thursday, though the current vote count currently shows him trailing Murphy by 2.6 percentage points, or a little more than 65,000 votes. While some provisional and mail-in ballots have yet to be counted, Murphy’s campaign argued that it won’t be enough to alter the outcome of the race in Ciattarelli’s favor.

When angry Democrats lashed out over Terry McAuliffe's loss in Virginia last week, they blamed "white supremacy" and racism for Republicans winning, but particularly directed their ire at white suburban moms. Now, some of those moms are speaking out. What happened? CNN anchor Pamela Brown sat down with four white suburban moms to understand how President Joe Biden won a greater share of white suburban moms in the 2020 election, but Glenn Youngkin carried a greater share of them last week. ... all four supported Youngkin. The women said they believe that suburban moms "100%" are the reason Youngkin won,...

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy had not been expected to have a close race against Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, but he nearly lost, coming up with just enough votes to prevail as votes continued to be counted after Election Day had come and gone. While Murphy's near-loss and Virginia Democrat Terry McAuliffe's defeat has been seen by some as an indicator that Americans are not in favor of current Democratic policies, Murphy claimed Sunday that his policies are exactly what kept him in office.

Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) on Sunday said congressional Democrats “blew the timing” on passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and social spending package, suggesting that the timeline could have contributed to the party’s loss in Tuesday’s Virginia gubernatorial race. Kaine, who represents Virginia and previously served as governor of the Old Dominion, said Democrats on Capitol Hill should have passed the two bills in October instead of letting internal party disagreements delay the vote.

The Bush campaign style is making a comeback. Democrats should be afraid. Very afraid. Among the messages emerging from Glenn Youngkin’s victory in the Virginia governor’s race last week is this: The era of angry, fire-breathing GOP candidates may be over, replaced by a campaign approach Democrats rarely seem to beat. Instead of a raging Donald Trump, Jim Jordan, or Marjorie Taylor Greene, there is the shrewd candidate with a keen eye for wedge issues, camouflaged by khakis and a calm demeanor. Think George Bush — senior and junior.

MTP's Chuck Todd, talked today (Nov/7/2021) about White Suburban Women vote for GOP, such as in VA and NJ... Sara Fagen hit the nail on the head that the hard left pulls the strings in Dems. She added: What people don't like about Joe Buden us his dishonesty, he ran as a centrist but has governed as a very progressive. PBS's news hours Amna Nawaz squeezed in her Squad-friendly POV.. Always interesting to hear what the other side (like MSNBC) says.. This clip was just a preview https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nc2KHjGz0Co

Veteran Democratic strategist James Carville blamed "stupid wokeness" for the resounding losses the Democratic Party sustained in Tuesday's elections across the country. Carville made the comments while being interviewed by Judy Woodruff on "PBS Newshour" Wednesday. "What went wrong is just stupid wokeness. Alright, don't just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Washington. I mean, this 'defund the police' lunacy, this take Abraham Lincoln's name off of schools. I mean that — people see that," Carville said emphatically. "It's just really — has a suppressive effect...

Democratic political strategist James Carville blamed his party's recent losses and weak performance in state elections on "stupid wokeness" on Wednesday. "PBS NewsHour" host Judy Woodruff asked Carville what went wrong for the Democratic Party in the Virginia gubernatorial race in which Republican Glenn Youngkin beat former Gov. Terry McAuliffe. "What went wrong is just stupid wokeness. Don't just look at Virginia and New Jersey. Look at Long Island, look at Buffalo, look at Minneapolis, even look at Seattle, Wash. SOMERSET, NJ – After declaring New Jersey elections are not rigged, Jack Ciattarelli and The Republican National Committee are preparing teams of lawyers to possibly challenge the 2021 New Jersey gubernatorial election results. Just two weeks ago, Ciattarelli assured voters in New Jersey that the election system in the Garden State is legitimate. “Don’t let anybody stay home because they think we can’t win or because it’s rigged,” Ciattarelli said in October. “It’s not rigged here in New Jersey. We can win this race.” Now, finding himself down in the polls, multiple sources have confirmed the RNC is sending a...

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) has clinched a second term after defeating former state Assembleyman Jack Ciattarelli (R) in the state’s unexpectedly tight gubernatorial contest. Murphy beat back Ciattarelli in a race that polls had shown slightly narrowed in the final few weeks of the campaign. While, New Jersey’s blue hue proved too deep for Ciattarelli to overcome, the former state lawmaker ran far ahead of expectations, holding a lead over Murphy for much of Tuesday night before falling slightly behind in the early morning hours on Wednesday. Both candidates effectively declared victory early Wednesday morning while saying more votes...

Edward Durr was leading by over 2,000 votes as of Wednesday morning, the New Jersey Globe reported. New Jersey’s neck-and-neck gubernatorial race could head to a recount after the votes are tallied — as Democrat Phil Murphy and Republican Jack Ciattarelli remain in a dead heat the day after the polls closed, political commentators say. “Every pollster was wrong. This is likely to be a recount race, either way,” former Garden State Gov. Chris Christie told TownHall early Wednesday. “There’s a very legitimate chance Jack could win this,” he added. In New Jersey, there is no automatic recount, but any candidate can request a recount within 17 days after an election by applying to a judge of...
