The PGA is canceling its annual Grand Slam of Golf tournament this year following a disagreement with presidential contender Donald Trump. The event was slated to be held in October at the GOP front-runner's Trump National Golf Club in Los Angeles. But the PGA decided in July to move the tournament after Trump made controversial statements about illegal immigration. On Thursday, the PGA said they were unable to find another venue in time.

The American College of Physicians has a message for Donald Trump and any other presidential contender advocating for mass deportation of illegal immigrants: Any plan to kick out those 12 million people from the country could have severe public health consequences. ... “Numerous studies show that deportation itself, as well as the fear of being deported, causes emotional distress, depression, trauma associated with imposed family separations, and distrust"

Patricia M. Vroom is the top attorney for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency in Arizona. When the Obama administration initiated its unilateral policy of “prosecutorial discretion”, allowing illegal immigrants to remain in the U.S. as long they have not yet been convicted of a serious felony crime, they found attorney Vroom too slow in authorizing the release of illegal aliens who had committed crimes in the U.S. but did not yet meet the administration’s high threshold for seeking deportation of such undocumented aliens. U.S. immigration law, as enacted by Congress pursuant to the Constitution, provides that any...

Just minutes after being set free from jail, an illegal immigrant who had already been deported once stole a woman’s car and threatened to kill her. Guaymar Cabrera-Hernandez, 24, had been held in the Montgomery County Detention Center since June before being released Monday afternoon, FOX5 reports. Upon his release, Cabrera-Hernandez approached a woman in the parking lot of a nearby Islamic Education Center and demanded she get out of her car. Cabrera-Hernandez, armed with a knife in one hand and a brick in the other, put the knife to the woman’s throat and forced her out of her car,...

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump's call for mass deportation of millions of immigrants living in the U.S. illegally, as well as their American-born children, bears similarities to a large-scale removal that many Mexican-American families faced 85 years ago. During the Great Depression, counties and cities in the American Southwest and Midwest forced Mexican immigrants and their families to leave the U.S. over concerns they were taking jobs away from whites despite their legal right to stay. The result: Around 500,000 to 1 million Mexican immigrants and Mexican Americans were pushed out of the country during the...

Looks like Up With Steve Kornacki is becoming the go-to place liberals for liberals to let their radical cats out of the bag . . . Yesterday, as we reported here, Josh Barro of the New York Times said that the only way to impact violent crime is to undertake a "massive" gun grab. Today, it was the turn of Salon's Joan Walsh to admit that she doesn't know "any liberals upset--outraged" by illegal immigration. As we said of Barro, kudos to Walsh for her candor. And really, why would liberals be upset by millions of illegal, low-skilled, immigrants flooding...

Via Mediaite, a little Nazi allusion to go with yesterday’s terrorism slur from someone who once said, as a United States senator, “I am, you know, adamantly against illegal immigrants.” Not only was she adamantly against illegal immigrants, she called for creating a national entry/exit ID card to keep track of people who’ve been admitted to the country legally — and maybe not just those people. Quote: “Although I’m not a big fan of it, we might have to move towards an ID system even for citizens.” Hillary’s prior support for cracking down on illegals will come up during this...

More than a few Republican graybeards are panicking about how the rise of Donald Trump is pulling at the seams of the GOP’s big tent. However, the Republican establishment itself has played a big role in creating this particular Frankenstein’s monster. In September 2014, I found myself in Lexington, Nebraska, population 10,230. I was at a campaign stop with the soon-to-be-elected junior senator from Nebraska, and it seemed as if voters in this small town wanted to talk about one issue in particular. Just a few weeks earlier—right before school was to start—the federal government had showed up in Lexington...

Republican legislators have gotten their messaging instructions from their top leaders: Tout unpopular free-trade measures during the August recess, ignore popular curbs on the migration that saps Americans’ wages. Breitbart News has exclusively obtained an internal August recess messaging instruction set for Republican legislators produced by Sen. John Thune (R-SD), who orchestrates the GOP Senators’ PR pitch. This 20-page messaging instruction manual seems to confirm prior reports by Breitbart News that Republican Congressional leadership has no plans to enact popular immigration reforms to curb large-scale migration. Each August, Senators and Congressmen return home to listen to constituents’ concerns and to...

Immigration is THE issue for 2016 Why is it that when African Americans whose families have been in this country for hundreds of years commit crimes they go to jail and when illegal immigrants commit crimes they get released? In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide target illegal aliens, as do approximately two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants. More than 60 percent of the Hispanic gangs in Southern California—whose membership is in the tens of thousands—is illegal. These gangs are involved with drug-distribution schemes, extortion, drive-by assassinations, assaults, and robberies. According to the analysis conducted by...

Once again, Donald Trump has managed to open up a robust national discussion about an issue that up to this point had been largely ignored by the political class. This time, the discussion is about so-called "birthright citizenship," the idea that whenever a foreign national (regardless of legal status and with a very few exceptions) has a child on American soil, this child automatically becomes an American citizen from birth. This approach to citizenship has been the de facto (though not de jure) approach to the issue of "anchor babies," the children of illegal aliens who come to the United...

While I continue to admire Donald Trump’s ability to command attention at long, rambling, unscripted press conferences, I still am not persuaded he will be the next President of the United States. Nonetheless, the GOP establishment in Washington has decided to treat Donald Trump the way the Bush White House treated many conservative leaders in 2005 during the immigration fight. They’re labeling him racist for daring to oppose Republican leadership preferences on immigration. Trump is doing something quite amazing. He has taken the political class equivalent of the Island of Misfit Toys and turned it into a campaign team besting...

The rise of Donald Trump is, in part, a function of a vacuum. He is thriving in a Republican field that is large, talented and, so far, underwhelming. There’s 17 candidates and nothing on. Except Donald Trump. Now, this has much to do with the media, and with Trump’s unique qualities as a showman. He has the advantage of not caring, about anything apparently — the facts, his reputation, or, ultimately, winning the presidency. In consequence, he is a free man. The Jorge Ramos incident was Trump in microcosm. He did what no other Republican politician could get away with...

Illegal immigration issue is a timely reminder “Language is a unifying instrument which binds people together. When people speak one language they become as one, they become a society”—S.I. Hayakawa Donald Trump’s stance on illegal immigration is a timely reminder that assimilation (to a common language, culture and values) is what makes the United States exceptional. If we are to continue to be the greatest nation on earth then we must remain a melting pot. As Senator Hayakawa so eloquently explained, “The United States, a land of immigrants from every corner of the world, has been strengthened and unified because...

If we somehow build Trump’s silly ‘great wall’ with Mexico, maybe we can finally have a serious debate about immigration. Prepare to be upstaged, China. Here comes the Great Wall of Trump. “We’re building a wall,” Donald Trump told moderator John Dickerson Sunday on CBS’s Face the Nation. “And it’s going to be a great wall. And, by the way, Mexico will pay for it. It’s going to a great wall, because I know how to build. And it’s not going to cost nearly as much as what they’re saying for a crummy wall.” The GOP front-runner has no use...

A man caught by D.C. police after carjacking a woman in the Sibley Hospital parking lot on Wednesday is an illegal immigrant who had already been deported once. He also carjacked another woman earlier in the week in Potomac, Maryland minutes after getting out of jail. On Monday, Guaymar Cabrera-Hernandez was released from the Montgomery County Detention Center where he has been since June. The charges against him for that arrest are unclear. He then showed up at an Islamic education center in Potomac and violently carjacked a 38-year-old woman. “He was standing at the driver side door -- her...

Republican presidential candidates often invoke Jesus, but lately they sound more like Jehovah. The Old Testament says, "I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation." Punishing kids for their parents' sins is the idea behind proposals to revoke birthright citizenship. Donald Trump started the discussion with an immigration plan that promised to stop letting all those born in America automatically become Americans. Ted Cruz agrees, as do Rand Paul, Rick Santorum, Ben Carson, Lindsey Graham and Bobby Jindal. Scott Walker said he did, but...
