So we are to believe that an illegal alien attempted to rob an armed uniformed Border Patrol Agent who would only be carrying his lunch money. Yea that’s plausible.

It took a few minutes for me to get the gist of the story.
So Craig, one of the Minutemen, believes that the intention was murder from the beginning.
That sounds like a logical conclusion to me.

It’s criminal that the government won’t hire enough agents to send them out in pairs, knowing what they are up against.

More bureaucratic stupidity.

What, so Craig is saying the 17 year old wasn’t there or that he was there but mixed up with some really bad guys intent on killing a BP? Can’t have it both ways. Admittedly, I haven’t kept up with this but it sounds like a simple case of Rosas finally confronting the group when they crossed over, they didn’t want to be taken back and a fight broke out, and he was outnumbered.

The Border Patrol is back to working solo instead of with a partner as of 12/31/2009.
