Some of the skirmishes over Mrs. Clinton's emails reflect the disagreements in a post-9/11 era over what should be a government secret and what should not. Nonetheless, 22 emails on Mrs. Clinton's server were held back from a tranche made public last week. Those 22 emails were deemed so highly secret that State Department officials in this case agreed with the intelligence agencies not to release them even in redacted form.

Fox News's O'Reilly Factor host Bill O'Reilly praised President Obama's executive actions to expand background checks. Earlier in the day, Obama announced executive orders to expand background checks to cover more private sellers and expanded background checks to family and corporate trusts. O'Reilly said, "The FBI should background check anyone buying a firearm in America. That just makes sense." According to RawStory, O'Reilly added, "If you are paranoid and believe the government is stockpiling information so they can come to your house and take your guns, that's your problem, your problem. But the government has an obligation to enhance public...

Connor Cummings, of Rockaway, N.J., and an 18-year-old pal managed to get onto an upper floor of the landmark hotel overlooking Central Park with several pieces of camera equipment Wednesday night, despite not being guests there, police said. They then attempted to climb scaffolding in an interior shaft leading to the roof of the 52 story luxury E. 57th St. hotel, police sources said. Cummings and his friend were nearing the roof when Cummings slipped and fell nine stories, crashing onto a 43rd floor landing, police said. He died at the scene.

THIS IS HUGE!!!! Why isn't the mainstream media covering this? This is real brutality! When is the violence going to stop, people? These two officers in Georgia have killed over 250 people in the line of duty. They were best friends in high school and entered the police academy together only to fuel a more sinister and sexually devious lifestyle than anyone could predict.

The White House declared victory Wednesday over congressional Republicans in the budget negotiations that concluded lateTuesday night, saying Democrats beat back the GOP across the board. White House officials cited a long list of wins over majority Republicans on individual budget items ranging from funding for Planned Parenthood to an overall increase in spending beyond previous “sequestration†caps.

Trigger warning! This story and video may be unsuitable viewing for the “safe space†crowd. Looking to understand just how controversial the debate over free speech on our college campuses really is, filmmaker and satirist Ami Horowitz recently traveled to Yale University, one of our nation’s most prestigious institutions of higher learning, to speak directly to students. “I decided to take this campus free speech debate to its logical conclusion,†said Horowitz, who asked students if they’d sign a petition calling for an outright repeal of the First Amendment. “The result was this unbelievable display of total stupidity.†In fact,...

A Senate committee on Thursday approved a resolution that critics described as an "unprecedented" move granting immigrants easier access to the United States. The amendment, offered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.) and first reported on by the Washington Free Beacon, affirms the Senate's belief "that the United States must not bar individuals from entering into the United States based on their religion, as such action would be contrary to the fundamental principles on which this Nation was founded." The language was offered in response to recent comments from a presidential candidate who called on Muslims to be barred from...

Yesterday, the thoughtful, clear-thinking individuals behind the Mizzou protests and #BlackLivesMatter issued tweets of indignation that the bloody calamity in Paris was detracting from their REAL struggle against terror on the leafy campus colleges across the fruited plain.Well that wasn’t enough apparently. Now they’ve created what has to be one of the sickest hashtag campaigns ever to express their disgust over the unfair attention 129 dead bodies are getting over their fake poop swastikas and flag-burning: #f**kparis. Here’s a selection of the hate-filled messages.

Student protesters at Amherst College issued a list of demands Thursday which include disciplinary action and mandatory "racial and cultural competency" training for students behind a series of signs on campus that lamented the death of free speech. The group Amherst Uprising is demanding that university President Biddy Martin issue a statement saying the university does "not tolerate the actions of student(s) who posted the 'All Lives Matter' posters, and the 'Free Speech' posters," which charged that the First Amendment was the "true victim" of the University of Missouri protests, The Daily Beast reported. The students demanded that the people...

It turns out that Denver, Colorado may not be the only major American city seeing an increase in crime following marijuana legalization. Seattle, Washington looks to be experiencing some blowback as well. According to the Drug Policy Alliance, "[a]dult possession of marijuana became legal [in Washington State] on December 6, 2012, 30 days after the passage of I-502, the voter-approved initiative legalizing marijuana for adults 21 and older. A year-and-a-half later, the first retail marijuana store opened its doors on July 8, 2014." When we look at the number of total and property crimes in Seattle from 2008 through 2014,...

California governor Jerry Brown used state experts to prepare a 51-page report on the prospects for oil development on his family's private land in Northern California, according to an Associated Press investigation released early Thursday morning. "Senior staffers in the state's oil and gas regulatory agency over at least two days produced a 51-page historical report and geological assessment, plus a personalized satellite-imaged geological and oil and gas drilling map for the area around Brown's family ranchland near the town of Williams," the AP reported. Brown's office declined to comment, referring the AP instead to the California Division of Oil, Gas and Geothermal Resources, which...

In November 2008, California voters narrowly approved Proposition 1A, which provided $9.95 billion in government money for a statewide bullet-train network. The initiative passed, even though the California High-Speed Rail Authority had been legally required to release a detailed, updated business plan by October 1 of that year, so that voters would have time to learn exactly how the state planned to finance what was then billed as a $43 billion project—and no updated plan was in view. Rail officials failed even to release a preliminary report before the election, claiming that state legislators’ long delay in passing the fiscal...

Russian intervention against opponents of the Assad government in Syria appears to have sparked a rising tide of bipartisan support for US countermeasures. Initially, Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina called for the US to resist the Russian initiative by force if necessary. Determined not to be outflanked, Democratic presidential contender, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton echoed Fiorina by urging President Obama to establish a "no fly zone" over the rebel positions in order "to protect our investment in the anti-Assad rebels." Sen. John McCain (R-Az) reminded everyone that "I'm the only one who has met with these rebels. Though...

Some people are of the unfortunate opinion that the John Birch Society is militantly patriotic and a supporter of this nation's military. That is not the case, especially not now. The JBS always was a front group for the European right wing and our own domestic Jew-haters. It was the "blue lodge" for recruiting decent conservatives and, by exposing them a little bit at a time to the classic anti-Jewish line, to eventually recruit them into the anti-Semitic movement proper. But at least when I was a member some thirty years ago the Society's publications didn't openly take potshots at...

I’ll say this right here at the beginning: Shooting a drone out of the sky is probably a bad idea. But, if you’re dead set on taking down one of those unmanned flying camera copters, Snake River Shooting Products makes a shotgun shell made for that specific purpose. The packaging says, “Prepare for the drone apocalypse!” which is either a joke or a really alarmist thing to make people feel paranoid. The shells are full of #2 steel shot, which is rather big, meaning that hitting a drone from a reasonable range with one of these would likely reduce it...
