VIDEO Several scenes I recorded on Labor Day, September 2, 2019, showing the sharp contrast between the Cone of Concern versus the Sphere of Indifference on Interstate 75 in Broward County. As you can see, the Cone of Concern, with the stormy outer bands of Hurricane Dorian, is on one side of the highway while on the other side the sky is a beautiful blue and sunny. I also speculate as to whether Hurricane Dorian will become known as the Groundhog Day Hurricane because it's location and status has remained the same for quite a while.

Catestrophic Hurricane Dorian was assigned Category 5 status by the NHC Sunday, September 1 at 0800. Since then Hurricane Dorian reached maximum sustained winds of 185 MPH, with gusts exceeding 220 MPH, and storm surge 18-23 feet above normal tide levels as it made landfall across Great Abaco Island in the Bahamas. Dorian became the strongest hurricane in modern records for the Northwestern Bahamas. The National Hurricane Center (NHC) released another update on Hurricane Dorian, which has been downgraded to a Category 4 storm but continues to pose a major risk — packing life-threatening flash floods and hurricane-force winds — to the coasts of Florida, Georgia, and the Carolinas. VIDEOHere is my report at 10 AM EDT on September 1, 2019 from just across the street from the cone of Hurricane Dorian. On this side of the street everything is fine with clear weather as you can see. This is in stark contrast from across the street where they are inside the cone of Hurricane Dorian with some really bad weather conditions including stormy weather and winds which are kicking up. As long the cone of Hurricane Dorian remains across the street, I expect everything here will remain fine.

Here it is Sunday on the last holiday weekend of the summer and it looks like we are going to enjoy another 6 weeks of summer as the Wolverines won their opener against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders. If the way they won is any indication though it could well be an ugly 6 weeks.
