Boy, did I put my foot in it. My initial assessment of House Speaker Dennis Hastert's role in the whole disgusting Foley issue ("The case for Dennis Hastert's resignation...") was way off the mark. In retrospect, I was two steps behind the flow of information and was simply caught flatfooted and premature in my assumptions. Therefore, I want to apologize to my fellow freepers for casting forth words without counsel. I have learned my lesson, and will be far, far more careful about my research.
