Estonian researchers believe they may have finally discovered the whereabouts of “Dracula’s” grave, which is in Italy and not the Romanian Transylvanian Alps as first thought. The inspiration behind Bram Stoker’s 1897 gothic novel “Dracula” is thought to be Vlad III, the 15th century Prince of Wallachia in Eastern Europe. Depictions of his endless cruelty made history books, securing his reputation as one of the biggest villains in Turkey’s collective consciousness, as...

[Editor's note: The messages from Fatima are not, strictly speaking, part of the Deposit of Faith. Catholics may choose to even disregard them completely, if they wish.] “God is about to punish the world for its crimes, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the Communions of reparation and for the consecration of Russia to My Immaculate Heart ... In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph. The New York World's Fair of 1964 introduced 51 million visitors to a range of technological innovations and predictions during its run. Fifty years later, some of those ideas have turned out to be commonplace in our world, such as video phone calls and asking computers for information. But some of them - colonies on the moon and jet packs as a mode of everyday transportation - remain firmly on the drawing board. WHAT THEY HAD WRONG Colonies on the moon, underwater and in Antarctica The Futurama 2 ride at the fair was sponsored by General Motors and presented a...

Historical revisionism can be useful, but frequently it is distorted to concoct new folklore by people with axes to grind. Millions of television viewers believed they learned something about the Korean War from M*A*S*H*. More millions were misled about McCarthyism by George Clooney’s movie Good Night and Good Luck -- a fictional documentary of Edward R. Murrow‘s 1954 semi-fictional telecast about Senator Joseph McCarthy’s search for subversives in the U.S. government
