Despite promises from the president and a host of other politicians who are pushing for more gun control that nobody is coming for your guns, the confiscation of guns and gun permits has apparently started in some form in New York State. One attorney representing several people who have been forced to surrender their guns spoke with TheBlaze and alerted us to some disturbing facts: Gun owners are losing their 2nd Amendment rights without due process.HIPAA Laws are likely being compromised and the 4th and 5th Amendments are being violated in some of these cases How did confiscation start happening...

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Until recently, medical files belonging to nearly 300,000 Californians sat unsecured on the Internet for the entire world to see. There were insurance forms, Social Security numbers and doctors' notes. Among the files were summaries that spelled out, in painstaking detail, a trucker's crushed fingers, a maintenance worker's broken ribs and one man's bout with sexual dysfunction. At a time of mounting computer hacking threats, the incident offers an alarming glimpse at privacy risks as the nation moves steadily into an era in which every American's sensitive medical information will be digitized.

House Republicans and members of the health insurance industry are dismissing as a gross overstatement an Obama administration study -- released as debate gets underway to repeal the health care law -- that says as many as half of all Americans under 65 have a pre-existing condition that could threaten their access to health insurance. The Department of Health and Human Services study, released Tuesday, concludes that somewhere between 50 million and 129 million non-elderly Americans have a pre-existing condition -- the kind of condition insurance companies can use to deny coverage. The study further found that 15-30 percent of...

One night, while at home, she posted on Facebook that she came face-to-face with a cop killer and hoped he rotted in hell.

Note: She posted on FB during her personal time at home on her own computer, and did not discuss the killer's personal and private information. Oh and by the way, the cop killer is African American.

As author Kohlmayer says in the following article, regaining power in order to fix the government will fix nothing. We are in need of a wholesale slashing of government agencies. People sometimes look at me as though I’m crazy, but I’ll say again some things I’ve been saying for years: to improve education and reduce its cost, get rid of the federal Department of Education; to have cheaper and more plentiful domestically produced energy, get rid of the federal Department of Energy; to reduce skyrocketing medical costs, get rid of the federal Department of Heath and Human Services, etc. All...

WASHINGTON – Vice President Joe Biden plans to announce Thursday nearly $1.2 billion in grants to help hospitals transition to electronic medical records.
-
(CNSNews.com) – Two top House Democrats told CNSNews.com on Friday that a section in the $787-billion economic stimulus bill that requires the creation of “electronic health records for each person in the United States by 2014” does not mean that the medical records of every American must be included in the new national infrastructure. In the bill, which passed both chambers of Congress on Friday and which President Obama is scheduled to sign Tuesday, $3 billion is allocated for a “National Coordinator for Health Information Technology” to create and meet the objectives of a strategic plan to build a national...

A little-discussed provision in President Obama's economic stimulus plan would demand that every American submit to a government program for electronic medical records without a choice to opt out, and it has privacy advocates more than a little alarmed. Patients might be alarmed, too, privacy advocates said, if they realized information such as documentation on abortions, mental health problems, impotence, being labeled as a non-compliant patient, lawsuits against doctors and sexual problems could be shared electronically with, perhaps, millions of people.

-After county won't test victim's blood for viruses, good samaritan left wondering if she was infected- When Wendy Lee saw a man get hit by a truck that night in May, she had no second thoughts about what she should do. Lee stopped her Suburban to help 64-year-old Juan Vega, who had been trying to cross Williamson County Road 172 near La Frontera in Round Rock when he was struck by a 2000 Chevrolet pickup. Lee said she could see Vega's cowboy boots lying in the road. "I called 911 as I was walking up to him, and they walked...

We have barely begun to cope with the mass killings by Cho at Virginia Tech when another incident involving a mentally ill person jumps out at us. The unintended consequences of different legislation that overprotects ‘rights’ of mentally ill individuals, college students and hospital patients can cause consternation at one end of the spectrum – and multiple deaths at the other. Because of federal legislation, as a college professor I could not discuss a student’s problems with his parents, even if that student evidenced a marked change in behavior or performance. Because of federal and state legislation I could not...

NewsTarget) Although most identity theft cases in the United States involve credit cards and bank accounts, ID thieves are now engaging in medical fraud -- falsely obtaining medical care using someone's stolen identity -- according to today's Los Angeles Times. After surgery on her shoulder last year, Lind Weaver, a 56-year-old retired schoolteacher, was billed for the amputation of her right foot. Refusing to pay the medical bill collectors, Weaver set about trying to prove that the surgery had obviously not been performed on her -- since her foot was intact -- which proved a more difficult task than recovering...

PATENT OFFENDING In October 1976, an Alaska pipeline engineer named John Moore became seriously, mysteriously ill. Eventually, he found himself at the UCLA Medical Center, where he was diagnosed with a rare, progressive form of blood cancer called hairy cell leukemia. To slow the disease and perhaps save his life, Moore's physician - Dr. David Golde - recommended removing Moore's spleen. The surgery was successful. Moore recovered and eventually returned to Alaska, with instructions to visit Golde for annual checkups. Over the next eight years, Moore did so. During each visit, Golde would extract samples of Moore's blood, skin,...

It's time to stop using the word liberal to describe leftists. Liberals today are anything but liberal. To be liberal is to be laissez faire, to be open and accepting of the differences of opinion and lifestyle that others may choose. To be liberal is to embrace liberty and promote maximum freedom and choice. To today's 'liberal' choice is just a euphemism for abortion. They don't embrace choice. They are controlling, hypersensitive, and litigious. They embrace something close to totalitarianism. Today's liberals are certain they know what is best for everyone and only need to apply the right coercive blend...
