WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Bush plans to nominate lawyer Rene Acosta to be the first Hispanic in the Justice Department's top civil rights post, the White House announced Friday. Acosta will replace Ralph Boyd, who is returning to private legal practice, Justice Department officials said. Acosta, a native of Miami, is currently a member of the National Labor Relations Board. Prior to that, he served on Bush's transition team and was later the main deputy in Justice's Civil Rights Division.
