Inevitability, my eye. If Republicans can't defeat Hillary Clinton in 2016 [assuming she gets there], they should be brought up on charges of political malfeasance. So lacking is Hillary in the most basic of personal political prerequisites that even Morning Joe called her "canned" and cringeworthy. The panel was commenting on an excruciating clip of Clinton prior to her hug-it-out dinner with President Obama last night. Watch it if you dare, but the panel's point was a larger one--that there is something about Clinton's public persona as to be seriously off-putting. View the video here.

You'll recall that I quipped that if Obama asserts that it's nighttime - I get up and go to the window to confirm it. Well, the Big 'O' has a soulmate in the crowded universe of liars in American politics. Hillary Clinton. Hillarys peeing on my leg but claiming that it's just raining. But I know she's peeing on my leg because we're in the middle of a drought out here - and because (ladies, cover your ears), Barack Obama calls her latest self-serving, scapegoat chatter - "Horseshit". Now, I'd say if anyone can recognize horseshit, it would probably be...

Editor’s note: I think it was the great Maimonides who taught us, “You must accept the truth from whatever source it comes.” So THE WEEKLY STANDARD is happy to feature this special guest editorial on President Obama's foreign policy failures (excerpted verbatim from Jeffrey Goldberg’s fine interview). – William Kristol On American Power and American Security: “But we’ve also learned about the importance of our power, our influence, and our values appropriately deployed and explained. ... One of the reasons why I worry about what’s happening in the Middle East right now is because of the breakout capacity of jihadist...

Hillary Clinton’s famous “listening tour” of Upstate New York in 2000 eased her way into the U.S. Senate. She was the first liberal politician in years to discover there was an Upstate New York. Who knew? She then spent eight years in the Senate, the “world’s greatest deliberative body,” during which time she distinguished herself only by voting for the Iraq war. She spent much of the middle years of the decade trying to explain away her vote. Hillary Clinton ran for president in ‘08 against the dovish Sen. Barack Obama. He is credited with the best putdown in the...

Ahead of a possible presidential run, Hillary Clinton appears to be distancing herself from what she called President Barack Obama's foreign policy "failure": the decision not to intervene during the early stages of the Syrian civil war. In an interview with The Atlantic published on Sunday, the former secretary of state says the "failure" of the United States to those protesting the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad led to the rise of al-Qaida-inspired groups like ISIS, the militants currently creating havoc in Syria and Iraq. “The failure to help build up a credible fighting force of the people who...

The rollout of Hillary Clinton’s new memoirs, Hard Choices, was not a resounding success for the former secretary of state. She stuck her foot in her mouth regarding her family’s vast fortune. She had trouble answering questions about her evolution on gay marriage. Critics, on the whole, found the book tired and shopworn. Yet her poll numbers remain surprisingly solid. Surveys conducted by Quinnipiac University, Fox News, and Rasmussen Reports—all taken since the book’s release—show her with comfortable leads nationally over Rand Paul, Chris Christie, and Jeb Bush. A mid-July CNN poll shows her with generally strong favorable ratings, although...

On July 31, when all eyes were focused on the Ted Cruz-stoked chaos unfolding in the House chamber over the border bill, the Republican-led House Intelligence Committee did something rather remarkable. It voted to declassify its Benghazi report. After two years of investigation, it found no evidence to buttress any of the conspiracy theories surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, attack that killed Chris Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, and three other Americans. We didn’t get this news from committee chairman Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Mich.). Nope. There was a story in the San Francisco Chronicle on Friday. A press release...

Will Hillary Run? That seems to be the question on everyone’s mind. She seems relentless and determined to win the presidency in 2016—especially after that 2008 loss. Still, she will be 68 years old with health problems. hillary clinton book tour background Edward Klein’s The Truth About Hillary is a thorough examination of this fierce and power-hungry political figure. It portrays her as vicious, and cold hearted. One of the great quotes was, “She has this unbelievability to be a liar. She is soulless.” Mrs. Clinton has a remarkable ability to win over the media. Rarely do they expose her...

The tales of how rude Hillary Clinton is to Secret Service agents is well documented and not new. However, according to one former agent, the abusive behavior rubbed off on stealth Muslim Brotherhood agent and close adviser to Clinton Huma Abedin. ... Huma Abedin, Hillary’s deputy chief of staff at the State Department and traveling chief of staff during her campaign for the presidency, is considered as vile and rude as Hillary. ‘Huma looked down on the agents and treated them as second-class citizens’, a former agent stated. If she wasn’t recognized, she would say, ‘Do you know who I...

Mideast: Finally, the president has scolded Hamas for using its tunnels to attack Israel. But he should also fault his former secretary of state. It was Hillary Clinton who aided their construction. Rewind to 2012. Then, as now, Hamas terrorists in Gaza were raining rockets on Israeli towns. Eight days of cross-border fighting claimed 166 Palestinian and six Israeli lives. Just 48 hours before Israeli troops planned to invade Gaza, then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton brokered a cease-fire. She flew to the region and met with Israeli and Palestinian leaders and announced a peace deal from Cairo. The cease-fire held,...

Former President Bill Clinton is a “classic narcissist” who is “always faithful [only] to himself” and who may not want his wife, former Secretary of State Hillary, to realize her ambitions for the White House in 2016, Daniel Halper, author of the book Clinton, Inc., suggested today. When speaking to Clinton confidantes, Halper said he was initially skeptical of these rumors, but found that many sources independently confirmed each other, and, “All of a sudden it begins to make sense. [When] you start hearing [this] from multiple people, from multiple good sources, and you start to realize—this is a man...

A former Washington Redskins player is fuming mad because Hillary Clinton had the audacity to call the football team's controversial name "insensitive." Clint Didier, a former tight end for the team for seven years who is now running for Congress as a Republican in Washington State, released a six-paragraph statement Wednesday evening demanding Clinton's apology. In it, Didier also criticized remarks made by Clinton unrelated to the football team and closed with a reference to alfalfa. "I'm just flabbergasted that Hillary Clinton now thinks she's the expert on what's insensitive. But if she has suddenly become the Miss Manners of...

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told Fusion TV´s Jorge Ramos that part of the reason Hamas hides rockets in schools and civilian areas is "Gaza is small." Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she wanted more Central American citizens to apply for asylum to live in the United States from their home countries. The Obama administration is reportedly considering setting up a satellite facility in Honduras to allow people to apply for asylum without coming to the United States, but Clinton said Guatemalans and El Salvadorans should have asylum facilities in their nations as well. In an interview with Jorge Ramos on Fusion, Clinton said that she wanted facilities "over there" to "screen kids... before they get in the hands of coyotes, or they get on...

Are you ready to take a little test? I’m going to ask a series of short, informational questions followed by one philosophical question, so the test is in two parts. Part One: Informational Who said this and when did he or she say it? Quote: “I remain opposed to same-sex marriage. I believe marriage is an institution for the union of a man and a woman. This has been my long-standing position, and it is not being reviewed or reconsidered.” Answer: That was former President Bill Clinton in an interview with the flagship gay publication The Advocate in 1996. Quote:...

Her book sales are lousy, she's made a couple of gaffes, and she's taken a battering in recent weeks from Republicans and cable TV pundits, but a poll out Thursday shows Hillary Clinton is still a favorite of Floridians. The Quinnipiac University poll of Florida voters found Clinton "dominates the 2016 presidential landscape, sweeping the Democratic field and topping former Gov. Jeb Bush and other possible Republican contenders by margins of 7 to 21 percentage points."

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues to trumpet the so-called 2009 “reset” of the U.S.-Russian relationship despite all evidence to the contrary that it worked. With relations over the past two years dwindling to lows not seen since the Cold War, Clinton still told National Public Radio Thursday that it was a success. She told BBC last month that it was a “brilliant stroke.” “The reset worked,” she said. “It was an effort to try to obtain Russian cooperation on key objectives while Medvedev was president, and of course Putin still pulled the strings but he gave Medvedev a...
