As President Barack Obama‘s approval ratings continue to stagnate, Democrats’ grasp on the White House in 2012 continues to loosen. Though a lot can happen between now and then, some Democrats have already jumped ship from the HMS Obama, and are instead seeking political refuge with a familiar player in Democratic politics, Hillary Clinton. The first televised ad for a Clinton-for-President recruitment campaign has officially hit the airwaves, courtesy William DeJean, a Chicago dentist who tells CNN he thinks the former senator and acting Secretary of State is the “most qualified” Democrat to run in 2012. “I’m a dentist and...

CNN: "She has more experience working in and with the White House than most living presidents. She is one of the most admired women in our nation's history. Let's make sure the president we should have elected in 2008 will be on the ballot in 2012. Hillary 2012: Hillary Clinton for President. Start now. Where there's a Hill there's a way," says an ad that began running on television in New Orleans Wednesday. Click here to watch the Video from Youtube

As President Obama sinks in the polls, Democrats and liberal pundits inevitably are searching for a scapegoat. The most likely victim appears to be gaffe-prone Vice President Joe Biden, who has become the focus of speculation that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton just might replace him on the 2012 Democratic ticket. Former Virginia Gov. Doug Wilder, his state's first African-American governor, touched off the controversy. Writing at Politico.com last week, Mr. Wilder argued that Mr. Biden's tenure has been undistinguished and chock full of "too many YouTube moments." He charged that Mr. Biden "has continued to undermine what little confidence...

Bar Harbor, Maine-When the presidential family – and Bo the dog – spent a summer weekend in Bar Harbor this July, Mainers were delighted. Despite Maine’s unpredictable weather, the days were sun-splashed and gorgeous. President Obama looked carefree as he and his family hiked, biked, boated, and tasted fresh lobster and ice cream. (He passed on blueberry but thought the coconut flavor was terrific.) But on the top floor of the waterfront hotel where the president stayed, newly refurbished and carpeted for the visit, with bulletproof windows installed, presidential aides could not have been cheery as they pondered the latest...

For pundits looking for signs that Hillary Clinton is thinking—just thinking—of perhaps challenging President Obama in 2012, there are suddenly plenty of tea leaves to be read. Former aides to Bill Clinton are popping up in news stories criticizing the President's performance and making dour predictions about the Democratic Party. Why else are Clinton loyalists joining the fray other than to soften up Obama for a Hillary left-cross come, say, the summer of 2011, when she cites high unemployment and a country in malaise in deciding to run for President again? The biggest jolt from the Clinton camp came compliments...

Instead of commenting again on the ability of the Democratic House and Senate to ignore pay-as-you-go when they feel like it (i.e., passing unemployment benefits without paying for them), I have decided this week to indulge in a bit of folderol. In thinking through the following possible scenarios, just image what could be: Sept. 6, 2012 After an 18-month roller coaster ride that has left most of the nation exhausted and confused, the final players have been determined for the last two months of the presidential campaign. After former House Speaker Newt Gingrich received the Republican nomination last month, former...

There’s a 200-year-plus gap, but Mrs Clinton's new bouffant is very George Washington Is Hillary Clinton trying to tell us something with her newest hairdo? Or is it just coincidence that the US Secretary of State has chosen a look almost identical to that of her country's first constitutional president, George Washington? The new look was unveiled on TV over the weekend as yet more Washington watchers come round to the view that Hillary Clinton might be the Democrats' best hope for the presidency in 2012, if President Barack Obama's slumping popularity continues to slide unchecked. As Wall Street Journal...

The rehabilitation of Hillary Clinton has been interesting to watch, and will likely get more so if this is any indication. An op-ed in today’s Wall St. Journal by Pete DuPont is making the case that Hillary Clinton could launch a formidable campaign against incumbent President Barack Obama in 2012. The question of whether Hillary plans on making another White House run has been casually bandied about since her hard fought 2008 campaign against Obama, but this is the first time I can recall seeing it in a serious publication…though I strongly suspect it will not be the last. The...

America's economy is failing to produce jobs, increase growth or raise confidence, and it will likely get even worse next year. Our federal government's spending has increased to $3.7 trillion this year from $2.98 trillion in 2008. Publicly held national debt is up by $2.4 trillion in less than two years, to about 63% percent of GDP from 40%, and is expected to reach 70% by 2012. Add in the unemployment rate, which has remained above 9.4% for over a year, and America is clearly failing economically. Next January the economy will be further depressed by increasing tax rates. The...

On 60 Minutes earlier this week, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton commented that the American economy is making it more difficult for her to do her job because other nations are telling her that “we always look to you because you have this great economy, and now you’re in the ditch.” Bill O’Reilly saw “a little jab” at the President in those comments, blaming the White House for her job troubles, but guest Dick Morris took that premise a bit further, suggesting the remarks, coupled with her silence on health care reform, were a deliberate attempt to undermine the President...

As Barack Obama’s approval numbers trend ever lower – and a new Gallup poll reports that 50% of Americans believe the President doesn’t even deserve a second term – it’s going to be very interesting to watch Hillary Clinton. Well, not the Secretary of State herself, of course. She’s busy at Foggy Bottom, burnishing her foreign policy credentials. Instead, watch her husband. Notwithstanding news accounts about the détente between the Clintons and Obama, surely the former president and his wife can’t help but feel that their predictions about the political disaster that would result from Obama’s inexperience and naivete, reportedly...

The 2010 midterm elections are shaping up to be a Democrats nightmare. But the problems for the Democrats and Obama won’t end there. Indeed, the fallout from the 2010 elections will likely carry over into 2012 which may well feature Hillary running against Obama and Nancy Pelosi’s retirement. Here’s why: 1. Republican’s Political Carpe Diem. It appears more everyday that Congressional Republicans are coming to grips with the tide sweeping the Country – Tea Party and otherwise. If Republicans rekindle their successful strategy of 1994, by setting a clear, practical and limited fall election agenda, then they can successfully frame...

That's how Laura Rozen reads this exchange with Tavis Smiley: TAVIS SMILEY: Finally, there’s already speculation about whether or not Secretary Clinton is going to do this for the full first time, and whether or not she has any interest if asked to stay on to do it for eight years? You see how tough the job is, can you imagine yourself doing all four years and, if asked, doing it for another four years? HILLARY CLINTON: No, I really can’t. I mean, it is just… TAVIS SMILEY: No to what? All four or eight? HILLARY CLINTON: The whole, the...

In an interview to air at 8pm tonight on PBS's Tavis Smiley Reports, Hillary Clinton tells Smiley she does not envision serving as Secretary of State for a second term. She also tells Smiley she is "absolutely not interested" in another presidential run.(snip) Clinton previously told the Washington Post's Glenn Kessler much the same thing: "Clinton said she loves being secretary of state, but conceded, 'It is a really hard job . . . a 24-7 job,' and 'I feel the weight of it pretty significantly.' Asked if she would be sitting in the same office for eight years, Clinton...

January 23, 2010 It's Hillary in 2012, if Obama even makes it that far By Bryan Fischer There is virtually unanimous agreement that President Obama is toast. Mort Zuckerman says the air is out of the balloon, and even Der Spiegel is saying that, for German commentators, the hope is gone. In my judgment, Obama is now a lame duck president with 75% of his first (and only) term remaining. ObamaCare, his signature issue, is dead in the water and Democrats are floating belly up right next to it. Think Corzine, Deeds, Coakley, Dodd, Dorgan, Snyder, Nelson, Lincoln, etc. etc....

Does anybody here buy Hillary Clinton's claim that she WON'T be running for president again? I sure don't. Okay, so assuming (not a big assumption) she runs again, when would that be? I think Hillary just can't wait for 2016 especially if things go south for Obama which is currently happening and if the Democrats lose big in the 2010 elections. Since Hillary would need a respectable gap between resigning as Secretary of State and announcing her 2012 candidacy, I am guessing she would resign by no later than April 2011 and announce her official candidacy in late summer of...
