Some people on the Koko Head Crater Trail got an unexpected thrill Tuesday morning as they met President Obama while on a hike. Earlier in the morning, President Obama returned to the Marine Corps Base Hawaii gym for a second consecutive day for a hour’s workout.

So far, since Obama flew off to Hawaii he has done nothing but golf. Since he arrived there, we have had the angry black woman run over 35 people in Las Vegas, ending the life of a young mother of three. In Afghanistan, where Obama declared all combat operations over, six Americans were killed. Obama has remained silent on these two incidents, and has instead been busy golfing with Bobby Titcomb. Who is Bobby Titcomb? He is the Obama pal who was arrested in 2011 for 'soliciting prostitute' in Hawaii sting operation. Talk about Obama priorities.

According to the White House press pool, President Obama is playing a round of golf at the Mid-Pacific Country Club. The president’s motorcade arrived at the Kailua course around 12:30 p.m. Monday where he will be playing in a group that includes longtime friends Greg Orme, Darrell Harrington and Bobby Titcomb. Earlier in the morning, President Obama worked out for the first time this vacation at the Marine Corps Base Hawaii’s gym in Kaneohe. After Sunday’s family hike at the Makiki loop trail, the First Family had dinner with friends at Morimoto Waikiki.

After Air Force One arrived at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam a little after 2 a.m. Saturday, President Obama and the First Lady got some rest at their Kailua vacation rental and later spent the day outdoors. The Supreme Court on Monday declined to review the ability of cities and states to prohibit semiautomatic high-capacity assault weapons that have been used in some of the nation’s most deadly recent mass shootings. The state Dept. of Health confirmed on Monday, Nov. 30, that there were 112 cases of dengue fever on Hawaii Island, up five from Friday, Nov. 27. Officials say 98 residents and 14 visitors were affected by the locally acquired disease. Eighty-six cases involved adults and 26 have been children (under 18 years of age). Hawaii Gov. David Ige says the state would welcome refugees from Syria with aloha. Ige said in a statement Monday that Hawaii and the U.S. have a long history of welcoming refugees affected by war and oppression. Ige spokeswoman Jodi Leong says it's too early to speculate on how many may come to Hawaii as the governor hasn't been contacted by President Barack Obama or his administration. It's bad enough having a state hold an election that is racially discriminatory. Now we have a judge willing to allow it to move forward. That would be federal district court Judge J. Michael Seabright (a George W. Bush appointee, surprisingly enough). A United Kingdom citizen who is a legal permanent resident of the United States alleges in a lawsuit that the Honolulu Police Department discriminates against non-U.S. citizens by making it difficult for them to obtain firearm permits. Hawaii only granted permits to U.S. citizens until a federal judge in Honolulu last year ruled that's unconstitutional. The department is trying to get around that ruling by verbally requiring those with green cards to obtain additional clearance from their countries of citizenship, according to the lawsuit filed last week in federal court in Honolulu.

MAUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Major League Baseball player Jose Reyes, the shortstop for the Colorado Rockies, was arrested on Halloween after allegedly assaulting his wife in their Maui hotel room, sources say. Reyes and his wife, Katherine, were allegedly arguing in their Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea room that afternoon. His wife told responding officers that Reyes grabbed her off the bed and shoved her. Sources say she also told police that he grabbed her throat and shoved her into the sliding glass balcony door.
