Jussie Smollett gives us the opportunity for a really important teachable moment. First, Smollett illustrates that anyone of any race is capable of racism. It goes with the territory of possessing a racial identity. Second, that whites or any other race should not be stereotyped to the point of vilification. This phenomenon was exhibited by Corey Booker before the facts were in. Everyone is, after all, an individual.
