Toby Addison, 21, recalled the mortifying moment years prior when he was kicked out of the gym for “creepily” staring at a woman — despite the fact he cannot see — while on the “Happy Hour Podcast” earlier in June. Addison, who shares his life as a blind person on his TikTok account, @blindtobes, said he was “minding his own business” during a workout when he heard a woman say: “Oh, do you like the view?” “Obviously I don’t really know where I’m looking a lot of the time,” the content creator shared on the podcast. “I was just staring...

U.S. — A new study has found that everyone at the gym is, in fact, watching you and laughing at your little sissy dumbbells. "Our study concluded that the feeling you get of being watched at the gym is because everyone is snickering at how weak you are," said lead researcher Dr. Graham Hadwin. "People are actually mocking you so much more than you ever thought possible." Men who lift weights have long sensed that all the other gym-goers were secretly laughing at their pathetic muscles and terrible form. "Just as I suspected," said local man Dan McMillan, upon hearing...

The Community Gyms Coalition and the Global Health and Fitness Association sent a letter to congressional leaders Thursday urging them to provide pandemic relief to fitness facilities before the end of the year. The groups said that the emergence of the omicron variant — which experts believe might be more infectious than previous COVID-19 strains — could cause more damage to the fitness industry, which has seen 25 to 30 percent of gyms close permanently since the start of the pandemic. “The appearance of another COVID variant, coupled with discussions around reinstituting mask mandates and further restrictions to address the...

Several Chicago aldermen are calling for the city to mandate proof of vaccination for people visiting public indoor settings, a move already adopted in other cities like New York. The aldermen said they were writing in support of Chicago requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccination “for persons visiting public indoor settings like restaurants, bars, movie theaters, gyms and concert halls,” according to a copy of the letter sent Thursday. New York City, New Orleans, San Francisco and Puerto Rico have issued such requirements, they noted.

Men are dogs. Not exactly a revolutionary notion, I know, but I think it is healthy to remind ourselves of this now and again. Which brings us to Connecticut, which is on the verge of facilitating highly desired outcomes for the dogs in that state. What happened was that two guys wanted to use gym equipment in a health club but it was all being used, except in the women’s-only section, where it was available. When they tried to access the women-only section they were prevented by the club. So they sued and here we are. This could mean the...

A New Jersey gym owner is riffing on Krispy Kreme’s popular offer of free donuts for vaccinated customers — by handing out free memberships to people who don’t get vaccinated. Ian Smith, co-owner of The Atilis Gym, located in Bellmawr, NJ, tweeted out the provocative offer earlier this week, kicking up a storm of controversy in the process. "In light of @krispykreme giving free donuts for receiving the CVD shot, here at @TheAtilisGym we are giving out free memberships to all who don’t get vaccinated. We believe in health – the real way – exercise, good diet, plenty of Vitamin...

Mayor Bill de Blasio on Thursday accused scandal-scarred foe Gov. Andrew Cuomo of lifting coronavirus restrictions based on his “political needs” — after the governor defied the mayor to reopen indoor fitness classes in New York City. “I want to ask a question — is this being done because of what the data and science is telling us or is this being done for political reasons?” de Blasio railed during a City Hall press briefing. “Cause it sure as hell looks like a lot of these decisions are being made by the governor because of his political needs.” De Blasio’s...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) warned on Thursday that the closure of gyms and indoor dining experiences will “very likely” begin within the next two weeks. “So for everyone who honestly might feel, somehow, a little better if they knew that indoor dining was going to be closed or gyms were going to be closed, I’m sorry to tell you — for the sake of those business owners and everyone who loves those gyms and loves indoor dining — it’s just a matter of time,” de Blasio said, adding that it is “very likely to be in...

Throughout the COVID pandemic, it's become increasingly clear that certain types of businesses in particular can pose a serious COVID risk: those that are indoors with poor ventilation where people tend to gather close together. And while most states have now reopened the majority of businesses, Anthony Fauci, MD, the nation's leading immunologist, is warning that three specific businesses should stay closed amid COVID.

While Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has frequently scoffed at President Trump's faith that a wall could protect the United States from being infiltrated by illegal immigrants, drugs and terrorists, she has authorized the expenditure of over a million dollars to build a wall around her residence. Reminded of the seeming inconsistency between her words and deeds, the Governor contended that "the two cases are completely different. Trump's wall aims to block people who love America and want to share in the American dream from exercising their human right to live wherever they wish. My wall is necessary to protect me from...

For months, the city of San Francisco health order has prevented local gyms from opening its doors, but some city-owned gyms have been back open for months and are allowing city employees to use them, crushing private gym owners. “It’s shocking, it’s infuriating,” said Daniele Rabkin from Crossfit Golden Gate. She said she has done everything she can to keep her gym on Sutter Street alive. “Even though they’re getting exposed, there are no repercussions, no ramifications? It’s shocking,” she said. Rabkin even reached out to a couple police officers she knows in the neighborhood asking them if they needed...

Cue the Rocky music! Michigan’s Grand High Potentate, Wretched Gretchen, has deemed fit to issue a diktat allowing gyms to reopen after a 6 month hiatus. I hope it’s not too late. That’s mighty benevolent diktator of you, Gov. Of course the openings come with a few mandated restrictions according to Gretchen's benevolent order: Gym-goers will be required to wear a mask at all times [that way you remain aware of the control your overlords have over you – ‘at all times’], including when working out. An exception to that rule is swimming [that’s mighty thoughtful…and pragmatic]. Gym owners should...

The owners of Atilis gym in New Jersey reopened on Saturday by kicking down the wooden barricades authorities used to block their entrance amid coronavirus restrictions. Co-owner Ian Smith posted a video of himself and his business partner, Frank Trumbetti, kicking the barriers and entering as a crowd cheers their decision. The dramatic display indicated that the months-long standoff between Gov. Phil Murphy and the gym owners wasn't finished. Smith's caption contained a defiant message for New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy: "You will not trample one [sic] our rights and you will not destroy our lives. We will not back...

Their arrest is the latest event in their months-long standoff with Democrat New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy, whose lingering lockdown order has shuttered non-essential businesses for more than four months. Speaking with Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday, Smith remained defiant despite his arrest. ... Tyrant Governor Murphy has owners of Atilis Gym arrested while encouraging riots in the streets. That’s expected. Cops complying with these orders is what gets me. I’m done taking up for weak ass cops violating their constitutional oath ... murderers are walking free in New Jersey despite the sheriff’s vigilance to board up Smith’s...
