An accidental shooting in Lawrenceville on Monday afternoon killed one teenage boy and led to the death of another, police said. The teens have been identified by police as Chad Carless, 17, and Devin Hodges, 15, both of Lawrenceville. The incident happened when a group of teen boys were in a “makeshift shed” on a property on Riverlanding Circle around 4 p.m., Gwinnett police spokeswoman Ashley Wilson said at the scene. Detectives said Hodges was showing a group a handgun when he accidentally fired a shot, Detective David Smith said in a statement. The shot hit his friend, Carless, who...

... Now, Brazil is set to embark on an experiment that will determine what happens when you loosen gun restrictions in a country battling an overpowering wave of gun crime. President-elect Jair Bolsonaro, who takes office Tuesday, adopted a signature finger-gun salute during his campaign. The ex-army captain has promised a dramatic reversal of the country’s 15-year-old gun legislation to make it easier for citizens to obtain firearms. “All the hoodlums already have guns, it’s only the good guys who don’t!” Mr. Bolsonaro said in a radio interview earlier this year. He said Saturday that he plans to issue a...

The Duchess of Cambridge went out shooting the day after her animal-loving sister-in-law left Sandringham. Kate, 36, has become a keen markswoman – and has even invested in her own shotgun, sources say. But she waited until after Meghan's departure on Boxing Day to join her husband, Prince William, and other family members to blast pheasants, partridges and ducks on the Queen's 20,000-acre Norfolk estate on Thursday. Last week the Mail told how Prince Harry had joined his family for their traditional post-Christmas shoot, despite claims he was banned by his new wife, who is expecting their first child in...

While recent headlines might lead you to believe that accidental deaths from firearms are at an all-time high, the fact is they are at their lowest in decades — but unfortunately, the so-called “mainstream” media won’t report the truth. As noted by the National Shooting Sports Foundation in a blog post on the group’s website, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is claiming that gun-related deaths in 2017 reached their highest level in the U.S. in 40 years. As reported by Fox News: In 2017, nearly 40,000 people were killed from gun-related incidents in the U.S., according to the...

They may not like Trump & McConnell but they love Smith & Wesson. That's what I took away from the time I spent in the sweltering fall heat of Orlando, Fla., shooting guns and discussing politics with members of the Liberal Gun Club. Over the course of three days the group of 25 or so dues-paying members (of the more than 3,000 spread around the country not to mention the 5,000 registered forum members) traveled around central Florida shooting sporting clays, steel challenge matches, and even a few machineguns while planning how they'll expand the club and use it to...

MARYSVILLE — The plan was simple: Steal tools and pawn them for money. That’s what two men, 22 and 23, reportedly had in mind when they showed up to the Coastal Farm & Ranch store in Marysville on Saturday afternoon, according to a police report. They allegedly took four nail guns, each worth over $400, walked out of the store and got into a Honda Civic. They didn’t expect to be surrounded by about six customers with guns raised.

Gun buybacks across the country are grabbing some serious headlines, especially when they mention turn-ins of military rocket launchers. In December, the Los Angeles Police Chief proudly displayed one, then one showed up at Seattle's gun buyback on Jan. 28 with another one in New Jersey showing up just today. Despite the headlines and the wonder-inspiring fact that missile launchers are floating around U.S. cities, they're all harmless — and very easy to get, especially if you've been in the Army or Marine infantry. "There is no threat to the public, and it has no actual missile," says Chris Gray,...

The city of Baltimore spent a reported $250,000 dollars to purchase over 500 unwanted guns in a “buyback” program. “Buyback” is an Orwellian propaganda term. You cannot buy back things you never owned in the first place. The Baltimore program was “successful” in that it collected over 500 firearms to be destroyed. It “worked” for two basic reasons.First, it offered more money than most of the guns were worth on the open market. Second, the state of Maryland has made it difficult to buy and sell guns legally and privately. There was little competition for the few guns brought in...

Residents of New Jersey were given a deadline to turn in their gun magazines or become felons overnight, and so far, no one is complying. [Snip] Citizens were given a December 11 deadline on their new ban on standard capacity magazines. The law effectively turned one million law abiding gun owners into criminals, literally over night if they failed to turn in the magazines. [Snip] According to Ammoland.com, who says they spoke with multiple police departments throughout the state, no one has turned in their magazines. According to the report: Two sources from within the State Police, who spoke to...

I posted this vanity to help others, my hope is that this info is shared with family and friends regardless of their ability/inability to protect themselves. Most crimes are committed against someone they know. Most people avoid dangerous situations and people to keep from being victimized. Meth addicts have no boundaries or reason. My point is that anyone anywhere can be a victim of a meth addict regardless of safeguarding measures. To illustrate, a few stories, one of which is mine. I have lived in the same house for 20 years without issue, a great neighborhood. We have weapons and...

Before vetoing House Bill 228, Gov. John Kasich expressed frustration Wednesday about how politics have blocked him from passing a "Red Flag Law," allowing the courts to take away a person's gun if he or she is unstable, and the growing connection with public shootings. "It never existed in America and we can't do anything because of rotten, stinkin' politics," Kasich said. Then, he commented about House Bill 228. "So, why would I sign a bill that gives more power to the gun advocates," he said. "I hate to jump on the bash-Kasich bandwagon, but in this case, he's really...

A federal judge says Broward schools and the Sheriff’s Office had no legal duty to protect students during the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom dismissed a suit filed by 15 students who claimed they were traumatized by the crisis in February. The suit named six defendants, including the Broward school district and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, as well as school deputy Scot Peterson and campus monitor Andrew Medina. Bloom ruled that the two agencies had no constitutional duty to protect students who were not in custody. “The claim arises from the actions of...

Crime Prevention Research Center’s (CPRC) John Lott took the left’s go-to gun control study for mass shootings apart on December 14. The study, which claims the U.S. leads the world in mass shootings, was put together by University of Alabama’s Adam Lankford and released in 2013.

President Trump's Tuesday announcement of a bump stock ban is upsetting members of a core constituency: gun owners wooed by his effusive campaign-trail vows to defend the Second Amendment, with two groups promising to see Trump in court. "If there's anything that irritates you more than a president like Obama who's trying to stab you in the heart, it's one who is trying to stab you in the back," said Michael Hammond, legislative counsel of Gun Owners of America, a group that claims more than 1.5 million members. Bump stocks allow semi-automatic rifles to fire more rapidly, contributing to the...

President Obama and President Trump were both right, Obama when he told us elections have consequences and Trump in his 2018 stump speech that a consequence of Democrat victories would be renewed attacks on the Second Amendment. New Jersey’s ban on high capacity magazines has been upheld by a federal court, opening the door to door knock gun confiscation and making off-duty police officers subject to criminal prosecution. The inmates are officially running the asylum. This law is one of those “sensible restrictions” on gun ownership that liberals like to talk about but that criminals will ignore as the judge...

In a split decision, a three judge panel at the Third Circuit Court of Appeals effectively ruled the Second Amendment of the Bill of Rights is a second-rate right, not entitled to the full protections of other enumerated rights. The opinion was filed on 5 December, 2018. The case is Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs, Inc. v. Attorney General New Jersey, No. 18-3170 (3rd Cir. 2018). The two majority judges followed the trend of other Circuits where the Second Amendment is being degraded and reduced to second-rate status. Only a month ago, the First Circuit ruled...

In 2012, Venezuela’s dictator-for-life President Hugo Chavez had his rubber stamp legislature pass the Control of Arms, Munitions and Disarmament Law. The public generally supported it at the time. The law stripped law-abiding Venezuelans of every firearm and round of ammunition they could legally own. As the country and its citizens have increasingly benefitted from the wonders of Bolivarian socialism, it appears that the public now regrets their support for total civilian disarmament. “Guns would have served as a vital pillar to remaining a free people, or at least able to put up a fight,” Javier Vanegas, 28, a Venezuelan...
