RIFLE, Colo. — Many stores and restaurants are telling people not to bring their guns inside, but one western Colorado restaurant not only embraces the practice of packing heat, it encourages its customers to carry openly — and its waitresses do, too. As she takes your order at Shooters Grill in the town of Rifle — yes, Rifle — waitress Ashlee Saenz carries a pad, pen and a loaded Ruger .357 Blackhawk revolver holstered on her leg, Old West style. It's loaded, and she knows how to use it

Target Corp. on Wednesday took a stand against customers who bring firearms into its stores. “This is a complicated issue, but it boils down to a simple belief: Bringing firearms to Target creates an environment that is at odds with the family-friendly shopping and work experience we strive to create,” John Mulligan, the company’s acting CEO, said in a statement. The matter became a surprising controversy for the Minneapolis-based retailer in recent months when activist gun owners in Texas and other states chose the company’s stores to demonstrate their belief in the right to openly bear arms.

Florida sheriff defends acquisition of surplus MRAP Published June 30, 2014 Associated Press DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, Fla. – A decision by one Panhandle sheriff's office to purchase a military surplus MRAP is being criticized by some residents. The Northwest Florida Daily News reports that the Walton County Sheriff's office bought the mine-resistant and ambush-resistant MRAP for just the $2,500 cost of delivery. Sheriff Mike Adkinson says the heavy-duty vehicle will protect his officers in dangerous situations. But some residents told the newspaper that the military vehicle is an unnecessary show of force in their largely rural county.

In a scheme concocted Haley Barbour, the Cochran campaign accused Chris McDaniel and the Tea Party of plotting to disenfranchise African-Americans. Man denied job shoots 2 at shop before turning gun on himself By Jennifer Bain, Dana Sauchelli and Sophia Rosenbaum A man seeking employment at a Brooklyn iron shop opened fire on Monday when he was turned down — injuring at least two people — and then fatally shot himself in the head following a standoff, police sources and witnesses told The Post. The gunfire erupted around 11 a.m. at 13th Street and Hamilton Place, on the border of industrial Gowanus and trendy Park Slope. One victim was shot in the torso and is in critical condition, and at least...

Beginning in September, Google plans to block firearm, ammunition, and gun accessory ads. According to Google Support's "Dangerous Products or Services" page, the company "[wants] to keep people safe both online and offline, so [they] won't allow the promotion of some products or services that cause damage, harm, or injury." Included in the dangerous products for which ads will be blocked are "Guns & Parts." This covers "functional devices that appear to discharge a projectile at high velocity, whether for sport, self-defense, or combat."

Tactical Firearms is appealing to the public for help fighting what it claims is a politically motivated problem with its bank. The Katy, Texas, gun store has made a national name for itself by posting snarky political signs – mostly opposing liberal gun-grabbers and Obama – on its outdoor marquee. BizPac Review has reported on several of the good-humored signs in the past, but it seems there’s not a lot to laugh about these days, according to the company’s web site and newsletter. The lengthy plea claims that the bank has called in on a loan that could put the...

A federal judge upheld gun laws on Thursday introduced by Colorado in the wake of deadly shooting rampages there and in Connecticut, dismissing a lawsuit brought by sheriffs, gun shops, outfitters and shooting ranges. The two laws, passed in 2013 by Colorado's Democratic-controlled legislature with scant Republican support, banned ammunition magazines that hold more than 15 rounds and required background checks for all private gun sales and transfers. After a two-week civil trial, U.S. District Chief Judge Marcia Krieger ruled the lawsuit lacked standing and said no evidence had been produced which showed limiting magazines to 15 rounds seriously diminished...

Imagine sitting down to dinner at a restaurant with your family when in walks a handful of men armed with assault rifles. Are you frightened, maybe angry? Or do they make you feel safe? That’s the question at the center of a bitter and increasingly public battle surrounding a group of gun-carrying activists in Texas, who brazenly flex their legal right to bear arms by carrying around assault rifles in public. The group calls themselves “Open Carry Texas.” Their enthusiasm for packing heat in public has led national chains like Chipotle, Chili’s and Jack in the Box to ask customers...

PA freepers.. What is the process of transferring ownership between two private parties. I have my original form that shows I am the owner. The form is filled out through Item E. Item F has "TRANSFEROR'S/SELLER'S INFORMATIN OR EXPLANATION FOR NONTAXABLE SALES". What is needed to legally transfer ownership of a handgun with this form? OR, do I need to go to an FFL? I am a bit confused how I can legally transfer a gun to another person legally who is also legally qualified (have their own guns and have been background checked for their own previous purchases)..

Police say the unidentified 47-year-old man likely believed Doyle was an easy target when he entered the Stan's Health Foods Store on the 7100 block of Frankford Avenue shortly after 5 p.m. But little did he know, there's more to Doyle than meets the eye. "She was a Philadelphia Police officer and she also was in the Secret Service," said Doyle's mother, Rita Perrell. Investigators say Doyle's law enforcement training was put to the test as the man held...
