...NARAL Pro Choice America’s statement in response is an exercise in denial. It completely avoids grappling with the fact that the three first-degree murders of which Gosnell was convicted were not committed against adults who walked into Gosnell’s practice, but against three prematurely born babies. Reports this morning indicate the jury in the murder trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell is hung on two counts, but reports do not indicate which ones. The jury has indicated that it has reached verdicts on 261 other counts. Judge Minehart took less than five minutes to instruct the jury to go back and reconsider the two hung charges and attempt to come to a consensus without violating anyone’s conscience. He told them that their disagreement is a sign that they are taking the case seriously, according to reporters inside the courtroom. If verdicts cannot be reached, the judge...

Schizophrenia is no less schizophrenia if one of the voices happens to be talking sense. Hard schizophrenia is no less difficult if murderous insanity is linked up tight with weird, pathetic, and arbitary scruples. In fact, if such an arbitary pattern is applied long enough, one may detect a method in the madness. I am talking about our erratic public policy when it comes to protecting human life. Gosnell is a disgrace because he killed babies in this spot instead of the officially-approved that spot. As one observer noted, he is apparently being charged with murder because he enjoyed himself...

A pro-choice reporter who has been present in the courtroom listening to testimony in the Gosnell trial has changed his mind on abortion, according to one of his fellow reporters. “That's the power of the Gosnell trial,” reporter JD Mullane told former Gov. Mike Huckabee during a recent appearance on the Huckabee Show. Mullane, a pro-life columnist for the Bucks County Courier Times, has been present in the courtroom from the very beginning of the Gosnell trial. His regularly-updated Twitter account has become the go-to place for breaking updates on the case. “There is one journalist sitting in that courtroom...

Frank Pavone Thu May 09, 2013 11:30 EST Comments () Tags: abortion, kermit gosnell This is the Memorial Basket where we placed the certificates with the names of the babies on our Altar in our chapel at Priests for Life. May 9, 2013 (PriestsforLife) - The trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell is about much more than the man himself. In a painful way, it brings America face to face with abortion, which, as the defense argued, is...

Day Eight of jury deliberations in the Kermit Gosnell murder case ended yesterday without a verdict after more testimony from another witness was read back. The jury heard the testimony of Adrienne Moton, the first of Gosnell’s former employees to testify. Moton previously pled guilty to one count of third degree murder for snipping the spinal cord of Baby D, two counts of conspiracy and one count related to corrupt organizations. Her guilty plea allows her the possibility of a lighter sentence based on her cooperation with the prosecution. She has not yet been sentenced. Gosnell faces first degree murder...

An emotionally exhausted jury in the murder trial of abortion practitioner Kermit Gosnell is going home for the weekend. After two weeks of deliberations — with much of it spent getting an understanding of how to apply the law from the judge in the case and listening again to testimony of Gosnell staffers about how he and his staff killed babies in abortions and infanticides — the jury has no verdict. Two local reporters provided more details. Bryan Kemper of the pro-life group Stand True has been closely monitoring the case and put it in perspective for pro-life people getting...

Tales of newborn babies struggling for life before Dr. Kermit Gosnell allegedly snipped their spinal cords at his Philadelphia clinic haven't dramatically altered public opinion on abortion, a poll released Friday by Gallup finds. Forty-eight percent of respondents told Gallup they were "pro-life" and 45 percent said they were "pro-choice." This indicates a closer divide than in 2012, when a Gallup poll found the "pro-choice" position sinking to an all-time low of 41 percent support. The results indicate shades of gray for people who identify with the "pro-life" or "pro-choice" labels. Twenty-six percent of respondents said all abortions should be...

Never mind that Senate Democrats blocked a resolution calling for hearings on the Kermit Gosnell “House of Horrors” case and abortion, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi told reporters this afternoon the case is “really disgusting.” Pelosi was asked if she was familiar with the Gosnell case and if Congress should hold hearings. “I think that whatever went on there – I only know what you all report on it – is really disgusting,” Pelosi responded to one reporter’s question. “It is really disgusting and when we talk about reproductive health for women, that’s not what we’re talking about.” After saying...

A House committee has launched a nationwide investigation in response to the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the abortion practitioner charged with multiple counts of murder for gruesome abortions and infanticides. The move follows letters from another committee to public health officials in all 50 states asking them what they are doing to prevent “House of Horrors” abortion clinics like the one Kermit Gosnell ran in Pennsylvania. Because the Gosnell Grand Jury report identified a “regulatory collapse” that allowed Gosnell to go undetected for decades, the House Judiciary Committee sent a letter to all 50 state attorneys general asking questions about...
