Meanwhile, Earth to Pope Francis: It’s not declarations of angel hood or your sanction that the leaders of radical Islam want--it’s your own and all other Christian heads Having convinced themselves that they will be able to convert the centuries old Catholic Church now that Pope Francis has thrown in with Obama and Palestine, the chickens of the lib-left are heading home to roost. The pious music you can hear in the background, emanating as steadily as greenhouse gas emissions, is coming from three of the far left’s top dogs belting out “I love Pope Francis” hymns on their way...

As Clinton scandals continue to mount and her credibility plummets, gleeful Republicans are quietly discussing what once seemed impossible: Hillary Clinton might not survive primary season, let alone make it all the way to Pennsylvania Avenue. That may well turn out to be the case. But it’s not because of the allegations about “Clinton cash” or deleted emails. Those are major political scandals, to be sure, but of a kind that a shameless Bill Clinton skated through easily during his own administration. The deeper problem is personal. As the veteran Democratic strategist Bob Shrum put it to me, rather forlornly,...

Let’s begin by acknowledging that the science of global warming is beyond the vast majority of us. Nonetheless, this does not mean we turn off our brains and simply accept the pronouncements of those sounding the alarm and offering their remedies. I am a global warming skeptic (to say the least) specifically because I have thought through the issue and the claims of the alarmists just don’t add up. What follows is my thinking and what it is that has led me to conclude that global-warming is a leftist farce which is being perpetuated for both financial and political reasons.

  • Al Gore to the Democrats' Rescue?

    04/12/2015 1:27:13 AM PDT · by 2ndDivisionVet · 35 replies
Some Democrats are privately worried that Hillary Clinton has too much baggage to make a successful presidential run in 2016. In casting about for a credible alternative candidate, some eyes are gazing, quite longingly, at...Al Gore. Not because he's baggage-free -- he did lose to George W. Bush in 2000 and then there's that whole Clinton thing again. No, some on the Left are urging Al to run in 2016 because he is so doggone worried about global warming: When it comes to climate change, there's no one in the Democratic Party — or any other political party — with...

How's this for some political arithmetic: Take a shallower-than-usual Democratic bench for 2016, hypothetically devalue a leading candidate due to an e-mail scandal, then toss in a retro candidate who lost one of the most controversial elections in history and you have the darkest of dark horse possibilities: Al Gore for president. The former vice president and 2000 Democratic presidential nominee is headed to Iowa in May for a climate change event, and these days, that's all it takes to fuel speculation that he may be considering another presidential run. At least, according to Ezra Klein, formerly of The Washington...

Democrats need a debate about where their party goes next. Obamacare's passage marked the rough completion of the social safety net that liberals began constructing during Franklin Delano Roosevelt's presidency. The end of the Iraq War drained Democrats of their foreign policy fervor. The rapid acceptance of gay marriage has robbed them of the next civil rights fight. There is work left to be done in all these arenas, but over time, the party will need to discover new dreams, much as Republicans have found the Ryan budget. The closest thing Democrats have to an organizing concern is income inequality....

Paul Begala who, along with partner James Carville, served as chief strategist to Bill Clinton’s 1992 presidential campaign, did not want Al Gore on the ticket. “I was not for Gore,” Begala told Bill Kristol recently. “I don’t think he knows that, so hopefully he won’t watch this tape.” Begala went on to discuss playing George W. Bush in 2000 debate prep for Gore: “I kicked his ass,” Begala boasted. “I watched all the tapes of Bush, and I think, as he would say, they ‘misunderestimated’ him.” At least some of the blame, Begala says, belongs to Bill Clinton, who...

Al Gore, Al Jazeera to Fight Over $65 Million in Court February 6, 2015 by Daniel Greenfield 0 Comments  Print This Post It couldn’t happen to a nicer bunch of guys. Al Gore used his contacts to get a sweetheart deal for a lefty news network no one wanted that he then sold out to the state sponsor of ISIS, Qatar’s Al Jazeera, which then used it to get even less viewers. Then Qatar screwed Al Gore. And Al Gore is suing Al Jazeera. If only they would agree to end this with an ankle-biting contest. A trial will be...

Former Vice President Al Gore showed up at the United Nations climate summit in Lima, Peru Wednesday to show creative support for an international global warming treaty. Gore quoted poets from three different languages, according to the news site Responding to Climate Change. Apparently, Gore quoted poetry from China, Spain and the United States — likely because China, Europe and the U.S. are the world’s top emitters of carbon dioxide emissions.

~snip~ The former U. S. Vice President arrived early, but did not start speaking until 1:30. That may be because there weren’t many people in the very large room. By the time he began to speak, perhaps half the seats were occupied. More people came as he continued talking. At the end, he got a polite round of applause. Such are the indignities of being a former movie star. Gore’s talk was an update of the slide-show immortalized in the sci-fi classic, “An Inconvenient Truth.” But not an update that replaces its numerous false and misleading claims. For instance, Gore’s...

As we speculate about the next election, a fun thing for us Cowboys fans to do on a "bye weekend" is to speculate that 2016 could be the perfect campaign to revive former VP Al Gore. Let's start by saying that Mr. Gore is the perfect alternative to Hillary Clinton. He is liked by the left and can claim to have "won" an election. Furthermore, I think that a lot of the left knows that Senator Warren is charming but unelectable. There is also a real vacuum in the Democrats' bench. Who else is out there? Gov. Brown of California?...

‘The UN: Always Putting the Horse Behind the Cart’ The best Hollywood scripts aren’t written for Hollywood movies but for surrealistic gatherings of the United Nations. The title of the Hollywood script going down at today’s opening session of the United Nations in New York should be ‘The UN: Always Putting the Horse Behind the Cart’. Talk of the yada, yada, yada kind replaces decisive action at the UN, and any action they take always puts the horse behind the cart. Where the weary world is heading on what President Barack Obama is making the Number One Topic of Our...

FALL RIVER, Mass. – In May 2013, two environmental activists piloted a lobster boat close to the vast pile of coal at the Brayton Point Power Station, the hulking plant that overlooks this industrial inlet near the border between Massachusetts and Rhode Island. With the tiny boat, the two men – Jay O’Hara, 32, and Ken Ward, 57 – dropped anchor and for a day blocked a freighter with a 40,000-ton shipment of coal, and they were arrested and charged with conspiracy, disturbing the peace and other violations. The two were scheduled to be tried on Monday, and they planned...
