Michael Bloomberg is really working his contacts to win presidential support in the battleground state of Pennsylvania. After naming former Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter as his national campaign chairman last week, Bloomberg is angling for a key endorsement from Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto, The Post has learned. The backing of the top Democrat in the heart of the old coal and steel region of western Pennsylvania would be a coup and potentially hurt former Vice President Joe Biden, a Scranton native and front-runner in national polls.

Bloomberg News was taking heat Monday over what has been described as a "hit piece" about 2020 Democratic presidential candidates Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., despite the outlet's controversial vow not to investigate the rivals of Bloomberg owner Michael Bloomberg, who is also running for president.
