The hearings just began. Right now Arturo Rodriquez is whitewashing the history of Cesar Chavez, playing the race card and ignoring American citizens who are unemployed.

Two men are in federal custody as the FBI investigates a possible terror cell that may be linked to suspected Boston Marathon bombers, Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. The men, known only as Diaz and Azmat, were arrested Saturday, April 20, in New Bedford, Mass. While the suspects are being held on immigration violations, their arrest was made after police received new information regarding a possible 12-member terror cell operating in the area. Investigators say the group’s main focus may have been training the brothers to build compact explosives like the bombs used in the marathon attack and those thrown at...

(snip) A spokesman for Florida Sen. Marco Rubio – one of the chief proponents of the Gang of 8’s immigration proposal .... “The situation in Boston is still developing and it’s too soon to jump to conclusions, let alone use the tragedy to make political points,” Rubio spokesman Alex Conant said in an email when reached Friday by The Daily Caller. (snip) “There are legitimate policy questions to ask and answer about what role our immigration system played, if any, in what happened.” “Regardless of the circumstances in Boston, immigration reform that strengthens our borders and gives us a better...

Although the terrorist bombing of the Boston Marathon temporarily delayed its introduction in the U.S. Senate, much to the chagrin of Mexican journalist, i.e. hack, Jorge Ramos, the Gang of Eight has finally introduced their bill, which is just as bad as we anticipated it being. Below is an account of a New York ICE protest of the bill which occurred last week. Joanna Marzullo tells the tale of NY ICE members telling truth to well-funded, open borders demands after the jump.

It’s called Potomac Fever. Senator Marco Rubio – seduced by the establishment – is leading the charge for amnesty for illegal immigrants. Rubio took the April 14 Sunday news shows by storm. But the senator degenerated into pure political spin. First, Rubio claims that this plan is not amnesty, because trespassers have to “qualify.” How do they qualify? They fill out a form. And they have to continually steal a job from a U.S. citizen. They have to remain employed, while tens of millions of American citizens are out of work. They must pay taxes. But they can’t be turned...

This "immigration bill" (why not call it what it is a so-called attempt to deal with ILLEGAL immigration) not just an immigration plan - why do they leave the WORD illegal out - supposedly has some key components: 1.) Penalties. 2.) Back to the end of the line. 3.) Illegals cannot get gov't handouts (food stamps, etc). I thought that for all these years they weren't eligible, weren't receiving them an/or they never did in the first place... 4.) An E-Verify system. Big Problem though...where is the simultaneously offered strong border control component(s), with many more border control agents, strong...

"Without legislative language," Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Patrick Leahy declared in a statement March 20, "there is nothing for the Judiciary Committee to consider this week at our markup." The subject of the statement was immigration legislation, and his irritation was understandable. "For months, I have urged the president to send his proposal for comprehensive immigration reform to the Senate," Leahy noted. He might have added that the White House, with access to the expertise and experience of the Justice and Homeland Security Departments, could easily have come up with a draft. But the president is holding back, Leahy said,...

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio dismissed arguments Sunday that the Senate immigration bill offers amnesty for illegal immigrants and said border security is not the only key issue -- amid scrutiny from some fellow conservatives and the union that represents immigration enforcement agents. Rubio told “Fox News Sunday” that anybody living illegally in the United States and attempting to get a visa would face a long list of qualifications, which includes paying taxes, a fine and an application fee as well as having a job and waiting for at least 10 years. “That is not amnesty,” said Rubio, a Cuban-American...

According to an ABC News report, senators from the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” pushing immigration reform are expected to drop their bill, estimated at around 1,500 pages, on Tuesday, mere hours before the only scheduled Senate hearing on the topic. “A bipartisan group of senators plans to introduce its long-awaited immigration bill on Tuesday, Senate sources confirmed to ABC News,” Jim Avila and Jordan Fabian wrote on Friday. “Four Democrats and four Republicans, known as the 'Gang of Eight,' wrapped up months of hard-fought negotiations this week and will put forth a bill that includes a pathway to citizenship for...

Katrina Trinko has most of the particulars at the Corner. Quote: “One contentious issue among the senators is whether immigrants who are clearly part of gangs but who have no criminal record will be allowed to obtain legal status.” Amnesty fever: Catch it. Securing the border and ending illegal immigration. The gang has focused on the border with Mexico, and did not consider serious changes to the Canadian border. If the legislation passes, the Department of Homeland Security will be required to be able to surveil the entire border at all times (using technology, such as drones) and to be...

We should start using this term to belittle the amnesty pushers!

Though the Associated Press will no longer call them “illegal immigrants” – Jay Leno put it best when he said they would be called “undocumented Democrats” – the Gang of Eight is bound and determined to set in motion an amnesty that will remake all of America into just another version of the failed state of California...

All the members of the bipartisan “Gang of Eight” pushing immigration reform in the U.S. Senate will band together to block any efforts by other senators to offer amendments to their legislation once it is introduced, the Washington Post reported on Sunday. In response to Nakamura’s article on Monday, Gang of Eight member Sen. Marco Rubio’s spokesman Alex Conant told Breitbart News that his description of the process being worked on is not correct.

Senate Republican staffers estimated Thursday that the annual cost to taxpayers of legalizing illegal immigrants could be in the billions, if they use their status to apply for federal benefits from Medicaid and ObamaCare. The claim, though, was challenged by Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, a key Republican engaged in immigration bill talks. Republicans on the Senate Budget Committee -- responding to an emerging immigration proposal that includes a path to citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants -- had estimated that the cost could total up to $40 billion in 2022, "just for Medicaid and ObamaCare." "The net costs would be...

As the Gang of Eight negotiates and prepares to roll out a comprehensive immigration reform bill, members of the “gang” have not publicly addressed concerns that remain about policies surrounding law already on the books — specifically one relating to immigrant dependence on welfare. Section 212(a)(4) of the Immigration and Nationality Act prohibits individuals likely to become primarily reliant on the government for survival: “An alien who, in the opinion of the consular officer at the time of application for a visa, or in the opinion of the Attorney General at the time of application for admission or adjustment of...

President Obama expects an immigration bill to come before the Senate next month and voiced optimism that a final bill could pass through Congress this summer. A bipartisan group of senators, known as the "Gang of Eight," missed a self-imposed deadline to submit a comprehensive immigration reform bill by the end of March, sparking concern that the group had reach an unsolvable impasse. But Obama said on Wednesday that the group is "actually making progress" and that they are very close to reaching a final agreement on a bill. "I'm actually optimistic that when they get back they will introduce...
