New York Daily News: 'One star' Well, the reviews are in on the new Joanne Trattoria restaurant (Italian, expensive) that mega pop-star Lady Gaga recently opened on the Upper West Side of Manhattan with/for her parents. That sounds like a nice gesture, and hard not to respect the gratitude. Shame about the food though, which sounds like overpriced hog slop: When a wan Caprese salad with mealy tomatoes and cloying balsamic costs $18, should a server quip that cheese is sourced from “whoever gets it to us cheapest”...? When a restaurant charges $18 for fried calamari, should the dish arrive...

Christian groups in South Korea called on Friday for pop icon Lady Gaga to cancel her concert here saying it was “pornographic” and promoted homosexuality. South Korea’s government has already bowed to public pressure and banned under-18s from attending the 26-year old’s concert, but protesters gathered outside the venue said that was not enough. “Some people can accept this as another culture but its impact is huge beyond art and debases religions. Even adults can’t see her performance which is too homosexual and pornographic,” said Yoon Jung-hoon, a reverend who organized the “Civilians Network against the Lady Gaga Concert”.

WASHINGTON, D.C. December 9, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) – As part of a worldwide campaign to promote global acceptance of homosexuality, the Obama administration has established a $3 million “Global Equality Fund” to fund homosexual political “advocacy” around the world at taxpayer expense. State Department guidelines suggest this could include everything from funding foreign political activists to campaign against legislation that defines marriage as a union between one man and one women, to hosting gay pride parades and concerts by Lady Gaga in far-flung countries. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton trumpeted the formation of the group in a speech she delivered in...

Lawrence O’Donnell Chides Bill Clinton And Lady Gaga For Inappropriate Birthday Flirtingby Frances Martel | 9:59 pm, October 17th, 2011 Over the weekend, former President Bill Clinton had a several-month late birthday bash in Hollywood, lasting two nights and capped off with a seductive performance by Lady Gaga, who performed a special version of “Bad Romance” and giddily called her performance a “Marilyn moment.” Given that ostentatious displays of power and wealth are public enemy #1 on The Last Word, Lawrence O’Donnell‘s cringing reaction to the affair (no pun intended) should not have come as a surprise, but it was...

SNL must be kicking themselves for not coming up with this first. Lady Gaga (channeling Marilyn Monroe's famous showstopper for President JFK) performed this weekend at the Hollywood Bowl as part of a concert celebrating the 10th anniversary of The Clinton Foundation as well as a delayed celebration of Bill Clinton's 65th birthday. Gaga serenaded Bill and Hillary with her own version of "Bad Romance" switching in "Bill Romance" for some of the lyrics. It's uncomfortable to watch Hillary laugh along.

“Celibacy has existed in one form or another throughout history and in virtually all the major religions of the world,” informs Encyclopedia Britannica. Whether it is for spiritual or health reasons – perhaps both – some creative types have embraced celibacy for years: Teen idols Nick, Joe, and Kevin Jonas Pop singer/songwriter Prince Rock star Lenny Kravitz (above) Actor Terrance Howard Writer Eve Tushnet For some artists, celibacy is seasonal. For others, a long-term commitment. Nevertheless, supporters say abstaining is often beneficial. With the support and guidance of a faith, it can also guard against diseases. Artists stand out probably...

(full title: Has Lady Gaga finally taken things too far? Singer is slammed by disability groups after performing on stage in a wheelchair) "She has been criticised for her use of religious symbolism, slammed for some of her song lyrics and had animal rights groups up in arms over her meat dress. But Lady Gaga might have pushed her critics over the edge last night after she came on stage in Australia in a wheelchair. The able-bodied star has caused outrage among disability groups"

Hillary: State Dept. ‘Instrumental in Sealing Deal’ For Lady Gaga’s Gay Pride Gig Monday, June 27, 2011 By Penny Starr (CNSNews.com) - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Monday that the State Department played an instrumental role in “sealing the deal” for pop-rock star Lady Gaga to perform at a gay pride rally in Rome, Italy. Clinton specifically pointed to a letter that David Thorne, the U.S. ambassador to Italy, sent to Lady Gaga urging her to participate in the event. “And then there is the work that our embassy team in Rome has been doing,” Clinton said. “Two...

Pop provocateur Lady Gaga has managed to outrage and insult many Catholics by leaking her new song, “Judas” just two days before the start of Holy Week. "It's always edgy and always (about) our religion," Bill Donohue, spokesperson for the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, said about frequent pop culture attacks on the Church. "(And) all during Holy Week." In “Judas,” Lady Gaga sings about her love for Judas, the infamous apostle who betrayed Jesus. "Jesus in my virtue and Judas is the demon I cling to...I'm just a holy fool, oh baby he's so cruel, but I'm...

The newspaper reports...

Ageless TV personality Charo is giving some pointed criticism of current pop star Lady Gaga. Appearing on Friday's Good Day New York, the "Cuchi-Cuchi" actress, singer, and comedienne said, "I see Lady Gaga like Madonna with diarrhea." "The voice is gifted because she is so powerful with the voice...but why does she have to remind people of Madonna? Why don't she go her own self? I never copy nobody," Charo said in her choppy English. "I was me and I created something that was me. I can not feel comfortable being a copy of other people," She added. Charo did...

Former President Jimmy Carter tells Big Think that even as the fight over Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell continues, he believes Americans are ready for their first gay president...Carter says the response to the presidential campaigns of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama have done a lot to melt the resistance to non-straight-white-guys in the White House: Step-by-step, we have realized that this issue of homosexuality has the same adverse and progressive elements as when we dealt with the race issue 50 years ago, or 40 years ago. So I would say that the country is getting acclimated to a president who...

It takes a lot more than witnessing the contents of an office go waterborne to shock Lady Gaga these days. Though that, apparently, was all it took for 15-year-old Stefani Germanotta to collapse into giggles. Old video featuring the girl who would be Gaga resurfaced this week much to the delight of fans and no doubt the chagrin of the pop star. The footage comes from episode 9, season 3 of The Sopranos, which first aired on April 22, 2001, and shows Gaga eating pizza (fairly shocking), speaking without affectation (very shocking), and—ready for this one?—wearing pants (there are no...

(NaturalNews) If you've ever wondered about the true mental sickness of the entertainment industry, look no further than Lady Gaga. She rose to fame and has become a teen favorite by pumping out tunes like "Love Game" where she belts out lines such as "Let's have some fun, this beat is sick, I wanna take a ride on your disco stick." Seriously. This is the stuff your teenage kids are piping into their brains through their iPods, by the way. And that's just the beginning: Lady Gaga is also largely responsible for the new craze of wearing "dilated pupil contact...

If you don’t mind watching a train wreck, then please take a few minutes and check out the latest celebrity rant. Lady Gaga tends to always use her stage as her soapbox. This time is no different but at her latest stop in Arizona she is now lamblasting the state for their illegal immigration laws by saying (among many other things), “We have to be active. We have to protest. . . . I will yell and I will scream louder…I will hold you, and we will hold each other, and we will peaceably protest this state.” Caution: some bad...

Former Vice President Al Gore today invoked Martin Luther King’s legacy in a wide-ranging attack on President Bush’s handling of war on terror—accusing the president of breaking the law and calling the war in Iraq a “colossal mistake.” Gore delivered an animated and passionate speech that latest nearly 90 minutes. His address was co-sponsored by the American Constitution Society and Liberty Coalition. MoveOn.org heavily promoted the event to its members. Much of Gore’s speech was devoted to Bush’s national security initiatives, including the domestic eavesdropping program that Democrats have tried to seize as an issue for the 2006 midterm elections....

A Christian radio station in Germany is campaigning for their listeners to get pregnant. Head presenter Simone Panteleit is to blame for Radio Paradiso's 1,000 Babies For Berlin. Panteleit just happens to be pregnant. The station puts listeners in the mood by playing Phil Collins, Elton John and Whitney Houston. Unfortunately, they’ve had more attempted suicides than pregnancies. Panteleit explains about her "bulging baby tummy" and asks them to, "get pregnant with me". Station editor Thorsten Wittke, says the reasoning behind the idea is to raise awareness for the huge lack of nursery places available and to highlight how important...
