Remember "Band Aid" back in 1985, the project that raised funds to help Africans during the huge drought they were having? Well, they've done it again, and this time, it's about Ebola. Midge Uri and Sir Bob Geldof teamed up again to re-do the song "Do They Know It's Christmas" with updated lyrics that change the focus from drought to the Ebola virus. Several British artists showed up for the song's taping, including the band One Direction, Seal, Sinead O'Connor, and Bono of U2. President Barack Obama is coming to New Jersey and Connecticut for a campaign event and fundraiser Wednesday. The president is set to arrive at Newark Airport in the afternoon to attend a private fundraiser for Senate Democrats in Union. Obama will then head to Bridgeport, Connecticut in the evening for a campaign rally for Gov. Dannel Malloy, who is in a competitive race with Republican challenger Tom Foley. The Democratic National Committee squeaked past its GOP rival in fundraising last month, but the Republican National Committee still has a bigger bank account, according to finance reports filed Wednesday. The DNC raised almost $9.3 million in July and went into August with more than $9.6 million saved for November’s elections. On August 9 Gabby Giffords will "[try] to resurrect gun control" by appearing in Maine to raise money for gubernatorial candidate Mike Michaud (D).
