Everyone please send whatever you are able to, whether it is $10, $100 or $1,000+. The otherwise mourning DUmmies, Morons, Kos Kiddies and that crew are probably laughing up their sleeves. Jim may have to make this site members only or allow ads. Better for us to just help with what we can. Maybe you can donate as a memorial for a lost loved one, a servicemember who never made it home or was disabled defending our country. Perhaps you'd like to give to keep free discussion alive and to show them that we're not knuckling under. I'm sure a...

FR did a GREAT job of staying online and loading quickly during the election.

One last Vanity post to say Thank You to FreeRepublic.com as well as the regulars who come to this site and keep it alive all year 'round. First of all, I did donate to the site a few days ago because I am NOT a regular, but I certainly have spent a lot of time here lately. I encourage all people like me, who may not be a regulars but who have been here somewhat religiously lately, to leave some gratitude behind in the form of a cash donation. It is easy to do. I also say thank you to...

One For The History Books… In the wee hours of Tuesday night/Wednesday morning, we'll finally see the outcome of what's been the weirdest Presidential election in United States history. Depending on your view of the true power of the Presidency, the next four years will either see a jarring fork in policy or a lot of sound and fury signifying same-old-same-old. Interestingly, the Never-Trumpers are licking their chops at a Hillary Clinton Presidency forced to square off against a Republican Congress. If Trump wins, there is a chance for a same-old-same-old Presidency. You probably know this, Donald Trump being the...

I thought it might be interesting to see how many mentions of FreeRepublic there are in Hillary's, Podesta's, the DNC's, etc. emails. So, here's what we have so far.. more Podesta batches going up every day... and who knows what else. Podesta: 6 emails in 5 chains. All during 2008... none later. The link titled, "See help for more information" just above the text input box for replies is a dead link. Clicking it does absolutely nuffin'. (This has been my experience for what seems several months using Apple's Safari browser and other browsers.)

Florida FReeper seekthetruth has been seen at a couple recent Donald Trump rallies holding "Blacks for Trump" signs, most recently at Sanford, Florida on Tuesday. SeektheTruth is a white woman. That has triggered the media, liberals and the GOPe into fits of anger and mockery. seekthetruth has been mocked on late night TV shows including Stephen Colbert. Link to Colbert video on YouTube. seekthetruth has also been the subject of discussions on the cable networks including CNN. Link to CNN video here. CBS News wrote about seekthetruth after she was seen at a rally in Lakeland, Florida October 12. I...

President Barack Obama is again complaining about conservative media, accusing it of creating candidate Donald Trump. “Trump didn’t come out of nowhere now,” Obama said during a campaign speech in Miami. “For years, Republican politicians and far-right media outlets had just been pumping out all kinds of toxic, crazy stuff.” Obama employed a straw man attack against conservative media, accusing them of starting “the whole birther thing” and calling climate change a “Chinese hoax.” “According to them, I’m powerful enough to cause these hurricanes, and I’m about to steal everybody’s guns in the middle of the night and declare martial...

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is reportedly investigating. The attack raised fears that this could be a trial run for an attempt at a major disruption of the U.S. presidential election. While many of the websites affected by the first attack, which hit the East Coast, are back up, sites hosted on the West Coast, including Twitter and Recode, have been hit, and were unavailable for many as of 11 a.m. Friday. As of 11 a.m., Dyn’s online update about its response to the attacks said the company was continuing to “investigate and mitigate.” The outages appear to have resulted...

This keeps happening on and off and it's driving me crazy. When I click on someone's name to find their comment history - either with a search on "user", or going to their profile page and clicking "in forum", I see one page of comments. Then when I click on "next page", I am taken to the page of articles they've posted. It's important to be able to see peoples' posting history sometimes - looking for a specific comment, or on a thread, or checking for trollhood either with comment tone/topic, or posting history. I was just now looking up...

Received a message from his wife that Dale Reed has passed away. Dale was a long-term conservative activist and a FReeper since nearly the beginning of Free Republic. He was one of the founding members of our Southern California Chapter. Dale and his wife and several members from Southern California were present at the 1998 picnic and meeting in Fresno where our activism efforts through chapters were basically born. Dale was a good man, a patriot and great supporter of FR and our conservative activism efforts and will be greatly missed. Prayers for his wife and family. May his soul...

In their biggest threat yet to conservative media, Democrats on the Federal Election Commission are laying the groundwork to bar companies with even the tiniest foreign ownership from American politics, a move that could ban Fox, the Wall Street Journal and even the New York Times from covering political races or giving endorsements. In a last-minute submission Wednesday, a top Democrat on the evenly split FEC proposed that the Thursday meeting of the commission begin the process to prohibit companies with foreign ownership as small as 5 percent "from funding expenditures, independent expenditures, or electioneering communications." Democratic Commissioner Ellen Weintraub...

I have been extremely busy with a bunch of personal stuff and haven't had time to write. I was actually taking a break with a pal last night and missed an interesting - and oh! so sweet! - bit of news which I would normally have seen at the Jawa Report, but I got on email from a friend late last night. It seems that RevolutionMuslim's South Park threatener Zachie-boy Chesser, using his infant son as camouflage (what a typical terrorist thing to do huh?) tried to board a flight to Uganda with an ultimate goal of reaching Somalia to...

A political action committee is looking to figure out whether it can safely use the Internet to support national political candidates, or whether the Federal Election Commission might seize the opportunity to impose the kind of regulations Democrats have been striving to attain. The request for an advisory opinion, filed on behalf of Citizen Super PAC, asks the FEC whether it would be permissible to email supporters of a candidate's campaign, or whether that would cross a line prohibiting coordination with candidates.

3DJoy was volunteering at a Trump booth in Melbourne, Fla Saturday at a gun show. She stayed many hours......her replacement didn’t come,...she didn’t hydrate or eat.......and passed out, and hit her head. She has spent 2 nights at our local hospital. She is such a dedicated volunteer. She is Trump all the way. I just want folks on FR to wish her well......she could use the love today.

Okay, I hadn't listened to Levin in weeks, can't stand him now, but had to run some errands and took my sons car as I have the top and doors off my Jeep and it was raining. He doesn't have my stations tuned in. So I hit the AM station and Levin was on, here's my synopsis. He first gave the "insurmountable" path Trump has to the white house and that he almost assuredly, barring a miracle, cannot win the White House. After the long diatribe just before the break he says "We nominated the wrong candidate". Back from break...
