CNN: Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz declared unfit to work, officials say "Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Lubitz was hiding an illness from his employers and had been declared unfit to work by a doctor, according to German authorities investigating what could have prompted the seemingly competent and stable pilot to steer his jetliner into a French mountain. Investigators found a letter saying that Lubitz, 27, wasn't fit to do his job in the waste bin of his Dusseldorf, Germany, apartment, city prosecutor Christoph Kumpa said Friday. The note, Kumpa said, had been "slashed."

European media report that German authorities have found “importance evidence” in Andreas Lubitz’s home. Lubitz was the co-pilot of Germanwings flight 9595, that he purposefully crashed in the French Alps. Although the German police don’t want to share any details at this moment, they say that the evidence explains why he committed this horrendous mass murder. In the meantime, it has become clear that Lubitz had serious psychological issues. He was hospitalized in a mental hospital back in 2009. When he was 27 years old, Lubitz apparently suffered from regular panic attacks. He was still being treated by a psychiatrist...

Reports this morning suggested the pilot may have been badly affected by a "relationship crisis" and was struggling to cope following a break-up with his girlfriend - who he was due to marry next year. He is said to have shared an apartment in Dusseldorf - the destination of the doomed plane - with a woman whose surname is Goldbach. ——— Reports suggested there was a "violent struggle" between the two airmen, who were "shouting at each other" moments before impact.

Foreign minister says Paris to advance Security Council resolution on peace negotiations; EU weighing new action to pressure Israel on talks. UNITED NATIONS (AP) — France’s foreign minister said Friday his country will move forward on discussions with its partners on a possible UN Security Council resolution that could present a framework for negotiations toward resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Laurent Fabius said “there is no other solution.” He spoke to reporters Friday at UN headquarters before planning to leave for the Iran nuclear talks in Switzerland. France put off a previous council resolution to wait for the results of Israel’s...

I’m usually an eager relayer of well-founded theories and clues which help get the truth out when politically-correct authorities try to hide or minimize the Islamic identity of jihad attackers, but in the case of Andreas Lubitz I must firmly state that so far (as of 3:00 am EST, U.S.), people are posting only completely unsubstantiated, non-credible reports that he was a convert to Islam. In the early absence of much solid information about the 28-year-old pilot’s personal life the internet is, of course, going wild with speculation about Lubitz’ motives for deliberately crashing the plane full of innocent people...

Efforts by the Obama administration to stem criticism of its diplomacy with Iran have included threats to nations involved in the talks, including U.S. allies, according to Western sources familiar with White House efforts to quell fears it will permit Iran to retain aspects of its nuclear weapons program. Western policy analysts who spoke to the Free Beacon, including some with close ties to the French political establishment, were dismayed over what they saw as the White House’s willingness to sacrifice its relationship with Paris as talks with Iran reach their final stages.

A council election candidate has resigned from Britain's ruling Conservative Party with immediate effect, apologizing for posting anti-Islamic and anti-gay comments on Twitter."I have let myself and my party down," David Bishop, a candidate in Brentwood South in Essex, said in a statement Sunday. "In order to avoid any further embarrassment, I have taken the decision to resign from the Conservative party with immediate effect. I will not be asking anyone to vote for me on 22 May. Last month, Bishop, who is also a local DJ, tweeted, "#Islam 'the religion of peace' & rape," referring to the arrest of...
  • Nigel Farage refuses to kick out ‘old-fashioned’ UKIP members who say gay sex is ‘disgusting’

People who call gay sex ‘disgusting’ will be allowed to stay in the UK Independence Party. Nigel Farage defended party members with ‘old-fashioned’ views about homosexuality, as he warned that with the government passing same-sex weddings ‘nobody knows where it will end up’. MPs last night backed the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Bill, but Mr. Farage said ministers were ‘picking a war with middle England’. …

Ukip is to drop its opposition to gay marriage, party leader Nigel Farage revealed today. The move risks angering disaffected Tories who switched to Ukip after same sex weddings were legalised by the coalition, but Mr Farage insisted: ‘We have absolutely no problem with anybody.’ He said that as part of a review of Ukip’s manifesto, which he has dismissed as ‘drivel’, he would not campaign for gay weddings to be banned. Ukip previously said civil partnerships were a ‘common sense’ way for gay and lesbian couples to register their commitment ‘in a formal way’. But it warned: Gay marriage...

Many in the politically correct media are becoming annoyed with questions regarding the religious beliefs of Germanwings co-pilot Andreas Gunter Lubitz. Lubitz locked the pilot out of the cabin of an Airbus A-320 jet over the French Alps on Tuesday and crashed the plane into a mountain at 434 miles per hour, killing himself and murdering an additional 140 people. Questions about the religious background of Andreas Lubitz, the Germanwings pilot who investigators said deliberately crashed a plane in the French Alps this week, killing all on board, have sparked outrage and debate about whether such information is relevant...

It is just speculation, but Lubitz's Commercial Pilot's Training was in Bremen, Germany. Lubitz left Montabaur at the age of 20 in 2007 to begin his commercial pilot's training in the northern German city of Bremen. Marseille prosecutor says co-pilot Andreas Lubitz crashed plane 'deliberately' - both he and pilot Patrick Sonderheimer trained at Lufthansa Flight Training School in Bremen. Was there a connection between the Raid at the Bremen Islamic Center? 2 of 4 armed militants from France were arrested for possible terrorism. I don't know if they are connected, but has anyone else seen this?

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) — A Massachusetts Institute of Technology aviation analyst says U.S. flight regulations make it unlikely that a single jetliner pilot could barricade himself or herself inside the cockpit. MIT expert John Hansman tells The Associated Press that U.S. safety procedures require two people in an airliner’s cockpit at all times. Hansman says if the pilot or co-pilot of an American carrier leaves the flight deck for any reason, a flight attendant goes in.

Some airlines are to change their rules to ensure two crew members are in plane cockpits at all times, after a co-pilot appeared to deliberately crash a Germanwings plane into the French Alps this week, killing all 150 on board. Two low-cost European carriers – easyJet and Norwegian Air Shuttle – said on Thursday that they would bring the new rule into effect almost immediately.

By The Associated Press 10:42 a.m. (0942 GMT, 5:42 a.m. EDT) An Airbus training video shows that the A320 cockpit has safeguards in case one pilot inside becomes incapacitated while the other is outside, or if both pilots inside are unconscious. Normally, someone trying to get into the cockpit requests access and a camera feed or peephole lets the pilot decide whether to accept or specifically deny access. If there is no response, a member of the flight crew can tap in an emergency code again requesting access. If there is still no response, the door opens automatically. If, however,...

New York Times and AFP news agency say evidence from cockpit voice recorder suggests pilot left before flight 4U9525’s descent and could not get back in. Evidence from a cockpit voice recorder recovered from the Germanwings flight 4U9525 that crashed on Tuesday suggests that one pilot left the cockpit before the plane’s descent and was unable to get back in, according to two separate reports. French air accident investigators say they have extracted a recording that contains “voices and sounds” from the cockpit of the plane before it crashed in the Alps, killing all 150 people on board.
