Note: The segment referred to in this column can be viewed by clicking on this link. Last week, I had a chance to film a segment on "The Kelly File" with Megyn Kelly. It was a short interview, running a total of just five minutes. For many viewers, one small portion of the interview, running less than thirty-seconds, overshadowed the rest of our exchange. Take a moment to watch the video portion between the 2:20 –and 2:45 mark. This was the point where many viewers perceived that Megyn was correcting me for using the label “pro abortion” instead of the label...

In mid-November, conservative news outlets posted multiple videos of Jonathan Gruber, an MIT health economist who worked on Romneycare and Obamacare, crediting the "stupidity" of American voters as one reason that the health law passed. The videos were not flattering for Gruber; Democrats have moved quickly to distance themselves. And, perhaps more consequentially, they have breathed new life into the Obamacare opposition effort. Today, the House Oversight Committee is holding a hearing with Gruber titled "Examining Obamacare Transparency Failures." ... Here'a a quick guide to who Jonathan Gruber is, why he's at the center of this controversy, and what it...

Gov. Bobby Jindal continued his attack on the Common Core academic standards Sunday in an appearance on Fox News. Jindal has sued the federal government, saying the mathematics and English benchmarks are tantamount to a national curriculum and illegally infringe on state sovereignty. "This is a violation to the 10th Amendment of the Constitution. Existing federal law says that the federal government shouldn't make curriculum decisions," he told host Chris Wallace Sunday. snip

A recent report by a GOP-led committee that was seen as going easy on the Obama administration's Benghazi response is drawing stinging complaints from a number of Republicans on the panel, as well as survivors of the attack. Some GOP members on the House Intelligence Committee grumble that the final product "might as well have been written by the minority," while other House Republicans say they are frustrated with the committee's decision to release a report with so many "holes." Several lawmakers point their fingers at the committee's chairman, Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. Some members who disagreed with the findings...

So I turn on FOX News at 8PM PST expecting to see some kind of live coverage from Ferguson, etc and what do they have on? Blow Hard O-Reilly's replay with him preaching his killing this person, killing that person books and porky pig Karl Rove. Biggest news network there is and they can't provide any kind of live coverage throughout the night? Really?

Any day now, I am expecting to turn on the tube and see an ad that says, “More Americans get their TV news from Fox than anywhere else.”. Whether that pleases or horrifies you, it’s time to think seriously about what that says about Fox, CNN, MSNBC, the state of network news today and the role TV plays or doesn’t play in providing us with reliable, trustworthy information. Much of the media establishment seems bent on ignoring the incredible ratings success of Fox News. Or, maybe it’s just that Fox has pounded CNN and MSNBC in the ratings for so...

How long it would have taken from the time of its exposure for the press to have prominently reported on an email sent from the the Bush 43 White House to its Justice Department asking, "Any way we can fix the New York Times?" We can be confident that it would have taken less than a New York minute, and that saturation coverage would have continued for days. Well, one revelation in a series of Saturday tweets by former CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson, one of only a very few establishment press journalists who did serious reporting on the Department of...

My family and I just moved back to the Lone Star state so I didn't have time this weekend to write a column because of how chaotic things have been with the move. But, I did find some fresh – ripe – goofy lunacy via Liberal Chick that I'd like to share with you. Yep, Liberal Chick is back and this time she's singing, yes singing, a song about evil conservatives and Fox News forcing illegal aliens to "ride death trains to the US." Check it out for yourself…LIBERAL CHICK SINGS: "Illegals Are Going Off The Rails On A Death...

In a very political move, the president has announced new rules for a specific group of illegal aliens. If your parents brought you to America when you were under 16, if you have completed high school, or served in the military, and if you are under the age of 30 now, then you are most likely going to stay in America. ... As for the policy, how can you blame kids when they are dragged to the US? It's not the child's fault that laws were broken. Thus the new policy is humane, and the President believes it will make...

Tommy Chong, star of such films as Up in Smoke and until this week a contestant on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars, was the #OneLuckyGuy on Fox News’ Outnumbered (for some reason) Wednesday, and while he was there he weighed in on issues like marijuana legalization (naturally), health care, and immigration. But when the issue of Obamacare “architect” Jonathan Gruber’s controversial comments came up, Chong surprised the show’s co-hosts by comparing it to another hot topic on Fox: Benghazi. Andrea Tantaros and Harris Faulkner were expressing outrage over Gruber’s comments and the Obama administration’s reaction to it when Chong decided...

Fox News liberal commentator Juan Williams thinks conservatives are making “much ado about nothing” over MIT professor Jonathan Gruber‘s controversial remarks that the Affordable Care Act passed only because of a “lack of transparency” and “the stupidity of the American voter.” Although he understood how the comments could be “insulting,” Williams insisted that all laws require some sort of clever packaging much like how corporations market products. When Fox News Sunday host asked Williams if he thought the Gruber comments presented “nothing new” for the Obamacare debate, the former NPR reporter replied in the affirmative: “I would say it’s much...

Fox News and potential presidential candidate Ben Carson went their separate ways last week. Is Fox host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee next? The tension between Huckabee's current job and possible future job has been laid bare in a number of recent news stories. Huckabee, who sought the Republican nomination for president in 2008, is clearly considering a second run -- which would mean he'd have to give up his Saturday night show on Fox News. On Wednesday, Fox News executive vice president of programming Bill Shine indicated that a decision might be made soon. "We are taking a...

Following an ABC News report that Fox News contributor Ben Carson is set to air an hourlong ad/documentary* “introducing himself to the American people” as part of a 2016 Republican presidential bid, Fox News has cut ties with him, according to aFox spokeswoman. The video is titled “A Breath of Fresh Air: A New Prescription for America” and, according to ABC News, will be heavily biographical, addressing Carson’s “rise from being born to a single mother with a poor childhood in Detroit to director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins for almost 40 years, known for his work separating conjoined...

Fox News obliterated its cable news competition during Tuesday night's election coverage, and did so by humiliating margins. However, co-hosts Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier not only vanquished CNN and MSNBC into oblivion, the dynamic duo also beat their broadcast network competition -- in both total viewers and the all-important 25-54 age demo: According to Nielsen Media Research, Fox News Channel beat CNN, MSNBC, CBS, NBC and ABC's coverage in both total viewers and in the 25-to-54-year-old demographic. Co-anchored by Bret Baier and Megyn Kelly, the channel's election coverage averaged 6.3 million viewers during prime time. CNN was the second...
