Norwegian authorities are offering a "bonus" 10,000 kroner (£1,000) to asylum seekers willing to leave the country voluntarily. The Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) says the measure is less expensive than keeping refugees in immigration centres in the country. Launched on Monday, the scheme will run for six weeks, state broadcaster NRK reported UDI saying. The money will be paid to the first 500 asylum seekers to apply on a first-come, first-served basis. “We need to entice more [people] to voluntarily travel back by giving them a bit more money on their way out. This will save us a lot...

The presidential frontrunner in Austrian elections said Tuesday that border controls at the Brenner Pass between Italy and Austria are “inevitable,” while also remarking that only one in five migrants entering Austria is a “real refugee.” In the first round of Austria’s presidential vote Sunday, Norbert Hofer (pictured) of the rightwing Freedom party (FPÖ) beat the other candidates by a landslide, making Hofer the likely winner of a run-off ballot to be held against Green party’s Alexander Van der Bellen on May 22.

Religion does not necessarily play a role in radicalization of Muslims, Secretary of State John Kerry said Tuesday night, citing political repression and denial of rights as relevant factors, along with the lure of “regular meals [and] companionship.” In a speech at the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice University in Houston, Kerry acknowledged that “you don’t have to be poor or repressed or receive special training” to become a recruit of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS/ISIL/DAESH). “You don’t even have to be religious,” he added, citing as an example a reported case of two young...

President Obama, who would open the floodgates to hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees if he could, praised Germany’s Angela Merkel this week for being on the “right side of history” in regards to accepting immigrants. At a speech in Hannover on Monday, the president was effusive in his admiration. “She is giving voice to the kinds of principles that bring people together rather than divide them,” Obama said, taking a not-so-subtle shot at conservative Europeans who are warning of an Islamic invasion. Because Obama has faced strong opposition to an influx of Syrians into the U.S., the German press...

In the last week of March, immediately in the aftermath of the tragic Brussels bombing which ISIS took responsibility for and which was subsequently revealed as organized by a semi-autonomous Brussels cell operating closely with the French cell responsible for the November 2015 terrorist attack, we reported that the Islamic State group has trained at least 400 attackers and sent them into Europe for terror attacks. As AP said, citing security officials, "the network of interlocking, agile and semi-autonomous cells shows the reach of the extremist group in Europe even as it loses ground in Syria." snip Earlier today Swedish...

Turkey should have a religious constitution, parliament speaker Ismail Kahraman said on Monday, in comments that will likely add to concerns of creeping Islamization under the ruling AKP party. “As a Muslim country, why should we be in a situation where we are in retreat from religion?” state-run news agency Anatolia quoted him as saying. “We are a Muslim country. As a consequence, we must have a religious constitution,” the AKP lawmaker told a conference in Istanbul. “Secularism cannot feature in the new constitution.” …

In 2016 more than half of converts in Vienna were Muslim, according to reports An increasing number of Muslim migrants in Austria are converting to Christianity, according to reports. According to Austrian website Kurier, 83 adults were approved for baptism in Vienna in 2016, with Friederike Dostal of the Austrian Bishops’ Conference estimating that about half of them were Muslims, mainly from Syria, Afghanistan, and Iran. This figure is up from one-third in 2015. There is expected to be a further rise of Muslim converts in 2017 due to the fact that there has been an increase in the number...

United States Steel Corp. has filed a complaint with U.S. regulators against the biggest Chinese steel producers, accusing them of conspiring to fix prices, stealing trade secrets and skirting duties on imports in the U.S. with false labeling. The big steelmaker is alleging illegal unfair competition by the Chinese producers and their distributors, and is seeking “the exclusion of all unfairly traded Chinese steel products from the U.S. market.” U.S. Steel announced Tuesday that it lodged the complaint with the U.S. International Trade Commission. Normally the independent federal agency decides within 30 days whether or not to act. The case...

Greg Jaffe of the Washington Post reports that President Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are “soul mates.” Why? Because Obama “disdains. . .needy, showboating allies and [Merkel] is neither.” That’s hilarious. Who on the world stage is more of a showboater than Barack Obama — he of the speech in front of Greek columns, the shockingly pretentious Cairo lecture to Muslims, and the receding ocean tides? Obama’s “disdain” for “showboating” suggests that he’s self-delusional, self-hating, or both. Now that we know how Obama views America’s allies (other than Merkel), it might be instructive to ask how America’s allies view...

A groundbreaking Israeli security system could have helped French authorities prevent the Paris massacre last November - but authorities balked at the deal under pressure from the anti-Israel boycott movement. Speaking to Fox News, an Israeli counter-terrorism source with intimate knowledge of both the software involved and the deal itself said that after the Charlie Hebdo and Hyper Cacher attack the previous January an Israeli company offered to provide French authorities with special terrorist-tracking software, which could well have enabled them to flag the ISIS terrorist network operating under their noses. But although the French were initially very keen on...

Muslims will soon outnumber Christians in Europe, a Belgian minister has claimed. Speaking at a hearing into the Brussels attacks, Koen Geens said the European Community may not realise it "but this is the reality". His comments were followed by Belgian deputy prime minister Jan Jambon warning against Europeans "making an enemy of Islam" describing it as "the worst thing we can do". Speaking at the EU Parliament, Mr Geens said: 'In Europe, very shortly we're soon going to have more practising Muslims than practising Christians' "That is not because there are too many Muslims, it is because Christian are...

Russia has resumed bombing moderate opposition fighters in Syria, a U.S. military officer from Baghdad told reporters at the Pentagon Tuesday. "We have seen them begin operations again in that region," Air Force Maj. Gen. Peter Gersten, the U.S.-led coalition's deputy commander for operations and intelligence, told Fox News. President Obama called Russian President Vladimir Putin last week asking him to help "press" Syria to end its airstrikes, according to a White House statement. The strikes appeared to violate the ceasefire brokered by the United States and Russia in February. "The two leaders committed to intensify their efforts to shore...

With the main route (reportedly shut down) being from Turkey to Greece, and up through the Balkans... But now, in response to Balkan countries closing down traditional migrant routes to Europe, Switzerland's military is taking steps to prepare for a potential new wave of immigrants in case it becomes part of a new route. As such, Switzerland has put together a formal emergency preparedness plan, which outlines three scenarios, one of which would call for military intervention.

James Clapper, the Director of National Intelligence, told reporters Monday that ISIS has terror cells operating in the UK, Germany and Italy. He also indicated ISIS was taking advantage of the migrant crisis in Europe.Clapper made the comments at a reporter’s breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. A reporter from the NY Times asked Clapper, “Do you believe that they operate, they have clandestine cells like they had in Brussels in places like Germany, England and Italy?” Clapper replied, “Yes they do. And that is a concern of, obviously, ours and our European allies.”“I assure you we are...

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the beheading "an act of cold-blooded murder." Yes, and the sky is blue. But what is he going to do about it? Nothing. ISIS and this Islamic group, Abu Sayyaf, which pledged its allegiance to ISIS, have nothing to fear from this dandy. He has said repeatedly that Canada was not at war with ISIS. Well, ISIS is at war with you, damn fool. Obama's lapdog, PM Trudeau, would not comment on the fate of the other hostages -- fellow Canadian Robert Hall, Hall's Filipino girlfriend, Marites Flor, and a Norwegian, Kjartan Sekkingstad. Of course...

Conservative columnist and provocateur Richard Littlejohn poked fun at President Obama Monday after he hosted a town hall in London that was a bit heavy on the "diversity" and political correctness for his taste. The audience for the event, which was held on Saturday, was reportedly chosen by the American Embassy and "appeared heavily weighted to appease the ‘diversity’ brigade," according to Littlejohn. "Take another look at the audience at Barack Obama’s ‘town hall’ meeting in London," Littlejohn invited Daily Mail readers. "Is this a portrait of Britain you recognise?" I know we are ordered to celebrate ‘diversity’ at all...

Mexican drug traffickers help Islamic terrorists stationed in Mexico cross into the United States to explore targets for future attacks, according to information forwarded to Judicial Watch by a high-ranking Homeland Security official in a border state. Among the jihadists that travel back and forth through the porous southern border is a Kuwaiti named Shaykh Mahmood Omar Khabir, an ISIS operative who lives in the Mexican state of Chihuahua not far from El Paso, Texas. Khabir trained hundreds of Al Qaeda fighters in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen and has lived in Mexico for more than a year, according to information...
