The Senate Judiciary Committee this evening has released 11 transcripts from their Crossfire Hurricane investigation/interviews. Go to the transcripts directly here: https://www.judiciary.senate.gov/fisa-investigation Chairman (for the meantime) Lindsey Graham issued more oh, so tough statements that rang hollow through the halls of Congress along with the transcripts. Excerpt below and more strongly-worded commentary at the press release link. “Former FBI Director Comey and his deputy Mr. McCabe, through their incompetence and bias, have done a great disservice to the FBI and DOJ, and the senior DOJ leadership who signed off on the work product called the Crossfire Hurricane investigation have created...

Late Friday, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s office filed its reply brief to the sentencing memorandum Michael Flynn had filed early last week with a D.C. federal court. Mueller’s reply brief revealed several new tidbits about the special counsel’s probe and the earlier investigation into Flynn, President Donald Trump’s short-lived national security advisor. Mueller’s filing came in response to a hastily issued order by presiding judge Emmet Sullivan, which directed the government to file its reply brief by 3 p.m. on December 14. Sullivan also directed Flynn to file with the court two documents he referenced in his sentencing memorandum: a...

Special counsel Robert Mueller on Monday night released a memo detailing then-national security adviser Michael Flynn's interview with FBI agents, in which Flynn repeatedly lied about his contacts with former Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The FBI officials who interviewed Flynn, including former agent Peter Strzok, gave him multiple opportunities to describe his conversations with Kislyak. Flynn denied that he spoke to the then-Russian ambassador about sanctions. The memo about the FBI interview was filed by Mueller in federal court in Washington, D.C. Flynn is set to be sentenced in that federal court on Tuesday. DEVELOPING

Dear Judge Sullivan: Pursuant to the Court’s Minute Order dated today, the government hereby files two redacted versions of the FD-302 report summarizing the FBI’s interview of the defendant on January 24, 2017. See Attachment. The content of both versions of the report is identical, except that the first version, which was digitally signed and certified in February 2017, inadvertently contained a header labeled “DRAFT DOCUMENT/DELIBERATIVE MATERIAL.” Once that error was recognized, the header was removed and a corrected version, omitting only the header, was resigned and re-certified in May 2017. Very truly yours, ROBERT S. MUELLER, III Special Counsel

It is always a bad idea to defy an order from a federal judge – especially when the judge whose order has been blown off has a history of vigilance against law enforcement and prosecutorial abuse and has thrown out convictions that resulted from abuse.  Yet the nation's premier, most powerful law enforcement agency has just done so. The Mueller Special Counsel Office's case against General Michael Flynn took a bizarre turn Friday when the FBI failed to provide Judge Emmet G. Sullivan with the original form 302 account of its interview with Flynn in the early days of the Trump administration.  General...
