Far too often, women who choose to be childfree are asked to defend their “immature,” “selfish” lifestyles. They’re told that motherhood is the “most important job in the world” and face accusations of living “meaningless” lives. The number of childfree women is at a record high: 48 percent of women between the ages of 18 and 44 don’t have kids, according to 2014 Census numbers. Feminists on social media have started a campaign called "give your money to women," or "Giveyourmoneytowomen" on Twitter. The point of the campaign is that, according to its creators, men benefit from numerous privileges, including the patriarchy and earning more money than females. The controversy over scholar Christina Hoff Sommers' lecture at Georgetown University last week is not over. Lauren Gagliardi, the school's assistant director for the center for student engagement, emailed two members of the College Republicans to request they edit the video to remove students who did not agree to be videotaped. All CSUN students registering for the 2015 Fall Semester are being forced to participate in an online, SIMS-style character game about sexual assault before being allowed to claim a seat for any course. A West Virginia Republican delegate previously scrutinized for his comments on a child that could come from rape has been called on to resign. The West Virginia Federation of Democratic Women created a petition on change.org calling on the lawmakers resignation. The petition explains that Delegate Brian Kurcaba, R-Monongalia, does “not represent West Virginia women and does not understand the mental anguish a woman goes through when sexually assaulted.” Kurcaba made the comments during a hearing in the House of Delegates Feb. 5 on a bill that would attempt to ban a woman from having an abortion performed after 20...

Last night, I read this blog post and felt nauseous. It’s horrible. A woman named Lana admitted to aborting her child because she was going to have a boy. She also said if this “curse” returned (i.e. finding out she’s pregnant with a boy) she would do it again. This comes after she proudly states she has a healthy 1-year-old girl, who will “be just as strong and driven as her mother.” Nothing wrong with having girls, but sex-selective abortion–or any abortion–is especially wrong.

Students at one northern California high school are learning more than just the birds and the bees. Along with local area groups, some parents are irate that their children’s sex ed class at Acalanes High School in Lafayette is being taught by employees of Planned Parenthood without their prior knowledge. MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A 26-year-old Wisconsin woman has been charged with one count of physical abuse of a child — her own 14-month-old son. The criminal complaint indicates that Jenna Schumacher brought her son to Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin on November 5th. The child was admitted for chronic ear bleeding and perforated eardrums. Doctors indicated there was “no medical cause” for the ear injuries — and because of that, they were concerned this may be an abuse situation.
