The Fairfax County School Board voted unanimously on Thursday to approve updated language in its sex education curriculum that is more inclusive to LGBTQ and transgender people. A 61-year-old Reston man is facing several charges stemming from a 2017 incident in which his dog was found deceased at an archery range. Officers responded to the private Northern Virginia Archers Club Range, adjacent to Fountainhead Regional Park, on July 15 of last summer after someone called to report they found a deceased dog that appeared to have been shot with a firearm. Police in Fairfax County, a Washington suburb, announced Saturday they filed charges against the teen. His name wasn’t released because of his age. Scott Fricker, 48, and his wife Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, 43, were shot Friday in their home in the community of Reston. Police say the teen knew the victims, who confronted him when he entered their home. Police say the teen then shot the couple and himself. Franconia Police District – Detectives received a tip from the National Human Trafficking Hotline over the weekend regarding victims being held against their will at a local hotel. Using information collected from the tip, they were able to determine the victims’ location.
