In the 'pings' set in some comments, besides the expected member names, I have seen the word 'All'. Does that 'ping' the message to everyone who already left a comment on that thread? How about those who comment after? And are there other 'special' words, besides 'All'? Thanks.

WASHINGTON - Eager to advance President Bush's election-year agenda, Majority Leader Bill Frist maneuvered for months to bring immigration legislation to the brink of Senate passage. But as a presidential hopeful in a party dominated by conservatives, the Tennessee Republican also voted for changes aimed at derailing the bipartisan compromise he helped forge. So is he for the bill, with its emphasis on increased border security? Or is he against the measure, which would give millions of illegal immigrants a chance at citizenship? "It's moving in the right direction," he said recently, a noncommittal answer that reflects a political straddle...

Terror Suspect: 'Everyone Makes Mistakes' Thursday November 3, 2005 12:01 AM By MATTHEW BARAKAT Associated Press Writer ALEXANDRIA, Va. (AP) - After confessing to FBI agents that he joined al-Qaida and discussed plans to assassinate President Bush, an American student wrote a letter to his parents saying that ``everyone makes mistakes.'' ``I know this will be difficult for you ... but I've been detained here in Saudi Arabia for some charges of terrorism,'' wrote Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, 24, who is on trial in federal court for conspiracy to assassinate the president, providing support to al-Qaida and other charges. ``It...

Everyone has cure for the Dems By C.J. Karamargin ARIZONA DAILY STAR Tight jeans and abundant cleavage attract millions of viewers to the hit ABC show "Desperate Housewives." Attracting voters will require very different tactics for Desperate Democrats. Everyone seems to have words of advice for the beleaguered minority party. Indeed, they're flowing like the ribald passions on a nighttime soap opera. Joe Trippi, campaign manager for Howard Dean, wrote an op-ed piece in The Wall Street Journal last week criticizing the "Go moderate, young man" mantra of the Democratic Leadership Council. Trippi urged the party to "reconnect with the...

The purpose of FreeRepublic.com's multiple message boards is to limit the topics for each board to particular topics. Posting the same message on all the boards defeats the purpose of multiple-boards for special topics. It is very annoying to see the same message on every bulletin board. PLEASE! DO THE READERS A FAVOR. STOP CROSS-POSTING YOUR MESSAGES!

The Priesthood Debate by James AkinI. OPENING REMARKSWhen I was an Evangelical, I originally held the same view of the priesthood that my opponent does. I viewed it as a man-made institution which robbed the faithful of their place as God's priests. I even quoted the same verses that my opponent does -- the ones about us being a "kingdom of priests" or a "royal priesthood," depending on the translation you are using. But over the course of time, I began to realize that merely quoting those verses did not settle the issue. The Bible has far more to say on...
