A new report has revealed how vulnerable voting by mail can be. SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Department of Employment Security has confirmed that a new online portal that processes claims for federal Pandemic Unemployment Assistance briefly allowed public access to applicants’ personal information including Social Security numbers. The House of Representatives on Friday passed a historic piece of legislation , allowing members to vote by proxy and conduct hearings remotely for the next 45 days because of the Wuhan coronavirus pandemic. Under the new rules, which passed mostly along party lines, congressmen and women can give written instructions to another member in the chamber to vote on their behalf. BOISE, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK)-Idaho’s May Primary Election may set new turnout records. The Idaho Secretary of State’s Office said Idahoans requested 415,500 absentee ballots before the May 19 deadline. It was easily the largest absentee request ever recorded, but may also be the largest voter turnout of any non-gubernatorial primary election in Idaho history. A former Democratic elections judge has pleaded guilty for his role in accepting bribes to cast fraudulent ballots and certifying false voting results in primary elections in Philadelphia, prosecutors announced Thursday. Domenick J. Demuro, 73, admitted that while serving as an elected municipal Judge of Elections, he accepted bribes in exchange for adding ballots for certain candidates on the voting machines in his jurisdiction and for including the fraudulent ballots in official tallies during the 2014, 2015 and 2016 primary elections in Philadelphia.

Jim Jordan (R-OH) in Ohio's 4th Congressional District election had to suspend his campaign after the Lorain County Board of Elections rejected his petitions to appear on the ballot after thousands of signatures were found to be illegible.
