Brazil's Mackenzie Presbyterian University and Its Marxist Professor By Julio Severo It is an indisputable fact that secular universities are filled with Marxist professors. The evident result is that journalists and economists come out from these universities regurgitating Karl Marx. Osvaldo Coggiola How to have journalism and economy classes without defiling yourself with Marxism at secular and public universities? The apparently obvious answer for Brazilian evangelicals is: have such classes at the Mackenzie Presbyterian University (MPU) in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Supposedly, a Protestant university would never have a Marxist professor. Just supposedly, because actually MPU has Professor Osvaldo Coggiola,...
  • “Buddy Bench” dedicated to honor a lost friend An unplanned reunion for Coronado students

    12/23/2015 9:31:38 AM PST · by SandRat · 8 replies
SIERRA VISTA — Many of Tristan Jones classmates gathered at Coronado Elementary School on Tuesday to honor the friend they recently lost. His friends wanted to find a meaningful way to keep his memory alive, and quickly decided that a “Buddy Bench” was ideal. A Buddy Bench is a bench placed in schoolyards to help eliminate loneliness and foster friendship, inclusion and kindness. Children who are feeling left out can sit on the bench, signaling to others to reach out and be a friend. The simple method to make reaching out easier is catching on. Tristan’s classmates organized a group...

  • VIDEO: Students Sign Petition to Ban 'Racist' Song 'White Christmas' from Radio

Last week, I presented some college students with a petition urging radio stations to stop playing the holiday classic "White Christmas" because the song only focuses on "White" Christmases. This clearly makes it racially insensitive, since it completely ignores Christmases of other colors. Students were all too willing to check their privilege and take a stand against Bing Crosby's racially charged micro-aggression. Just watch.
  • Does anybody know how to reset an Ipad mini.

    12/21/2015 4:22:38 PM PST · by Jonty30 · 47 replies
Does anybody know how to completely reset an Ipad mini? My mother won an Ipad mini a few years ago, but has lost the ownership slip showing that it is hers. Consequently, the Apple store will not do a reset for her because she cannot prove it is hers. Somebody has put a password on it. We don't who did that and we don't know the password, that is why we need to reset it, because the Ipad mini will not allow access unless we know the password. Thanks for any help.
  • Science vs. scientism: a necessary distinction

Science vs. scientism: a necessary distinction J. Daniel McDonald — December 1, 2015 We all have those TV shows that define our childhood - shows that captured our little minds and imaginations. For me, it was Sesame Street (don't laugh; some of you watched Barney), Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, and Dukes of Hazzard. While I have no interest in these shows now, I look upon them with a sense of nostalgia because they represent, in part, may days as a young tike whose greatest concerns were snack time and Hot Wheels.A show that many of our Boyce students (and Southern students?)...
  • Clash of Civilizations: Islamic vs. Judeo-Christian

Judeo-Christian civilization has nothing in common with, and nothing to gain from, Islamic civilization as it now exists. They have been clashing for centuries. Now, Islamic civilization appears to be winning in much of the European Union and, to a lesser degree, in America. Can anything be done to slow and then to halt the spread of fundamentalist Islam? Ayan Hirsi Ali hopes there is and that Muslims will do it. I also hope they will, but am quite dubious that it will happen in the foreseeable future. We need to take other steps promptly.Preliminary disclosureAs I wrote here in 2012, I am...

The manifesto for the micro-aggressives has been unleashed on an unknowing "safe-space"-seeking, politically-corrected, American public. Students at no lesser liberalist college than Oberlin, Ohio, have released 14 pages of full social-justice-warrior-tard warning that they are "not polite requests, but concrete and unmalleable demands."As DailyCaller.com reports, the list, which bubbled up online over the past three days, is no less than 14 pages in length, and includes a staggering 50 demands, many of which divide into several sub-demands. Not only are the demands numerous, but they are quite severe and are paired with stern rhetoric. The document opens as follows: Oberlin College and...

I can't say I would do my education differently, because college is where I met my wife, who now teaches at the college level herself, and had a number of great experiences. However, Mike Rowe couldn't be more right about this. An education is for everyone, but that doesn't mean college is for everyone. My illustration degree is and has been irrelevant to the career I have now. None of the skills I use were actually taught in a single illustration class I took. The portfolio I used to land my first graphic design job was comprised of almost entirely...

It would be very helpful to obtain some detailed suicide data as well, particularly for the militia. Michigan’s two largest public school unions have seen their numbers of dues-paying members decline sharply since 2012, according to documents filed with the U.S. Department of Labor. The Michigan Education Association lost 20 percent of its active members, going from 117,626 members in 2012 to 94,559 in 2015. The American Federation of Teachers-Michigan lost 21 percent, dropping from 23,388 members in 2012 to 18,585 in 2015. Michigan’s new right-to-work law is only one of the likely explanations for the drop in union membership. Schools are also privatizing more noninstructional services to devote resources to their core mission. That means fewer...

  • Mike Rowe to Bernie Sanders: Stop Telling Everyone College is The Only Thing

Mike Rowe, the popular host of CNN's Somebody's Gotta Do It and former host of Discovery Channel's Dirty Jobs, lays into Bernie Sanders for pushing everyone to go to college. Rowe, whom Reason interviewed in December 2013 (see below), isn't against college, but he takes exception to the idea that the only legit way to get ahead these days is to get a university sheepskin. Rather, he argues, there are lots of excellent trade jobs available that many people would not only be successful at but happy to do. He sees a systematic, elitist attempt to denigrate such work in...

Normally they hide their agenda under a layer of nauseating rhetoric about diversity, multiculturalism, etc. But sometimes they are less discreet. A few sample white genocide quotes: “The goal of abolishing the White race is on its face so desirable that some may find it hard to believe that it could incur any opposition other than from committed White supremacists.” — Noel Ignatiev “We have got to eliminate the gringo, and what I mean by that is if the worst comes to the worst, we have got to kill him” — Jose Angel Gutierrez, Chicano activist and university professor. “If...

Obama's Agenda -- Hold Muslim Classes While Banning Christian Holidays On December 13th, 2015, Fox News reported that Non-Muslim high school girls were made to wear Muslim hijab to promote acceptance of Islamic beliefs. As ridiculous as it sounds, more than a dozen non-Muslim girls at a Chicago high school were made to wear a traditional Islamic head scarf on Wednesday as part of "Walk a Mile in Her Hijab." The event, organized by the school's Muslim Student Association, featured 17 non-Muslims wearing the garment and speaking with other students about the meaning of the hijab. Vernon Hills High School...

f your child’s middle school or high school doesn’t have “Transgender Awareness Month” yet, get ready. A whole new world of indoctrination is on the horizon. It’s tempting for conservatives to say that the transgender anti-discrimination & public accommodation laws being pushed these days by the LGBT lobby are simply “bathroom bills”. Yes, they do allow cross-dressing men to go into women’s restrooms and locker rooms. But it’s really a lot more than that. The LGBT lobby sees this as a stepping-stone -- for leveraging the concept of “transgender non-discrimination” into psychologically forcing the inversion of people’s mental and emotional...

While the teachers they represent have seen very small pay increases or even pay freezes over the past three years, high level executives at the Michigan Education Association union received large raises. The average increase in the salaries paid to the top four union officials was 18.6 percent over three years. At the same time, the MEA's liabilities increased by nearly $100 million, or 50 percent in one year. Vice President Nancy Strachan received a 25 percent salary increase between 2012 and 2015 ($119,520 to $149,433). Secretary-Treasurer Rick Trainor was also up 25 percent during the period ($121,476 to $151,675)....

A youth leader of the protest movement in Chicago that was triggered by the police shooting of a black teenager in 2014 wants to address what she views as systemic discrimination within local law enforcement by defunding the city's police department and allocating that money “to fund black futures.” Appearing on MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell Reports with guest host Peter Alexander, Breanna Champion of the Black Youth Project called it “unacceptable” that police receive 40 percent of the city’s budget. “One of our major demands is that police be defunded and that that money used to fund police be used to...
