  • George P. Bush Says Dad 'Moving Forward' on 2016

Jeb Bush is "moving forward" on a potential 2016 White House run and it appears more likely he'll enter the Republican race. That's the opinion of his son, who's running for office in Texas. George P. Bush tells ABC's "This Week" that his father is "still assessing" a presidential bid, but it seems more likely he'll seek the presidency this time. The former Florida governor declined to run for president in 2012 despite encouragement from Republicans.

[...]If Hillary Clinton or Jeb Bush were to become president of the United States it would mean the power and influence of the presidency remained in the hands of the Clinton family for possibly sixteen years, and that’s not even counting the princess in waiting, Chelsea; and in the case of the Bush family, possibly twenty years, and that’s not counting the heir apparent, George Prescott Bush. Have we devolved into a nation of bleating sheep, or screaming teenagers at an episode of American Idol? Can it be true that there are no other citizens in this great nation worthy of...

Six months: that’s how long Democrats have to talk about inequality in America with conviction and, for whatever it’s worth in politics, consistency. Six months from now marks the midterm elections, the unofficial start of the 2016 presidential campaign and Hillary Clinton’s long-delayed ride to inevitability. What does Hillary Clinton have to do with inequality in America? She’s no robber baron, of course. But the core case against inequality isn’t about resentment of wealth—it’s about the ways in which the concentration of wealth is making politics increasingly pointless, a game of access and not arguments. Anyone who fears that future...

John Boehner’s last two serious challengers for his Ohio eighth district congressional seat both got fired during their campaigns — and one of them was told explicitly that he was getting canned for running against Boehner. The Daily Caller exclusively reported Monday that Boehner’s tea party primary challenger J.D. Winteregg was fired from his job as an adjunct professor at Ohio’s Cedarville University for running an anti-Boehner campaign ad accusing the speaker of “Electile Dysfunction.” Winteregg is challenging Boehner in the district’s May 6 Republican primary. “I would say the raciness of it, sure,” was the reason the Christian college...

CHELSEA CLINTON IS THE PRODUCT OF TWO OF THE MOST POWERFUL BRANDS IN THE WORLD. NOW SHE'S FINALLY CARVING OUT HER OWN IDENTITY--BY JOINING THE FAMILY BUSINESS.... I woke up one day when I was 29 and craved red meat," says Chelsea, now 34, and a self-described omnivore. "I'm a big believer in listening to my body's cravings." ... she's not just another millennial. She's political royalty. And now, finally, she has decided to join the Clinton family business.... ... "People [were] always asking me [since I was a kid], 'Do you want to go into politics?' " she tells me,...

Via BuzzFeed, a vignette from the big Bushworld confab over the weekend to honor Bush 41. Imagine if the “tea-party era” in Republican politics, which began after eight years of Dubya and the nomination of John McCain, produced Mitt Romney and then Jeb Bush as presidential nominees. I’m treating the prospect of another Bush nomination as a test of whether the Republican grassroots, realistically, has any influence at all over who their party chooses. Say what you will about O but his win over Hillary six years ago proved that it’s still possible for the establishment favorite to be beaten...

I have no objections to Jeb Bush running for president. He obviously has a wide appeal as a potential candidate. With a Mexican wife, and as a man who speaks fluent Spanish, he would be able to increase the Hispanic vote in the GOP column. On the other hand, many in the Republican base find his position on immigration untenable, and would fight him tooth and nail during primary season. He is also a serious advocate of education reform. His support of Common Core, however, will also find many who are in the conservative ranks objecting, since they fear that...

The Bush family doesn't waste any time indoctrinating the next generation into the world of politics. George H.W. Bush's baby great-grandson Prescott joined his father George P. Bush in the voting booth yesterday as daddy runs for Texas land commissioner. Baby Prescott was swept up by his mom Amanda just as dad went into the booth - but he still got an 'I Voted' sticker.

by Susan Frommer | Top Right News With the subject of gun control heating up again, as multiple gun-grabbing PACs gear up for the midterm elections, Si Robertson, Duck Dynasty star and brother of patriarch Phil Robertson spoke out against it at a free-wheeling discussion following a Christian concert in Louisiana. After recalling that the Senate voted down last year's attempt to restrict gun rights, Uncle Si, a Vietnam Veteran, said "America doesn't have a gun control problem, it has a sin control problem", among other comments. Willie and Korie Robertson attended the recent State of the Union speech -- and stole the show, with dozens of members of both parties meeting with and talking to the classy and entrepreneurial couple before the main event. But not everyone was happy with the presence decent country folk in their nasty world of politics. During NBC's live State of the Union coverage Tuesday night, chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd sneered at Duck Dynasty stars Willie and Korie Robertson being Republican guests at the event: "...after the shooting with Gabby Giffords and for a couple of State of the Unions in a...

(VIDEO-AT-LINK)Jeb Bush is considering a run for the White House — no matter what his mother thinks. With two recent national polls showing Jeb among the top potential 2016 Republican presidential contenders, a local Florida reporter asked the former Sunshine State governor Wednesday about a potential run. “I’m considering — I’m going to think about it later,” he said. “So I don’t wake up each day saying, ‘oh, what am I going to do today to make this decision. I’m deferring the decision to the right time, which is later this year.” The son and brother of former presidents continued...

The mayor of Houston, Texas, Annise Parker, is once again attacking  'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson by calling him a “wingnut” and “completely irrelevant.” Mayor Parker is one of the few openly gay mayors in the country. Why Mayor Parker thinks anyone cares what her opinion is of the Louisiana TV star is another question, but Mayor Parker made the comments on Lone Star Q, a website that focuses on the gay scene in Texas. I have never watched ‘Duck Dynasty,’ so I don’t think about it much at all. I’ve been a gay community activist since the mid-70s. It...

As we reported the other day, CNN and the the Huffington Post have tried to invent a new phony controversy, by taking a humorous relaying of marriage advice to a teenager in 2009 video of Phil Robertson ridiculously out of context. The Robertson Family are no strangers to vicious attacks and smears from the Left, but no family member has yet gone on the record to specifically speak out on behalf of their patriarch. Until now. Phil's oldest son, Pastor Alan Robertson, recently spoke to The Christian Post about his dad, stating he was standing up for Christian values in his comments...

The family-owned business at the center of the hit TV-show "Duck Dynasty" has launched its own line of guns. The gunmaker Mossberg has teamed with Duck Commander, the company owned by "Duck Dynasty's" Robertson clan, to release nine different shotguns, as well as two semiautomatic rifles and a semiautomatic pistol. Mossberg has begun shipping some of the shotguns to distributors, according to spokeswoman Linda Powell. She declined to name specific retailers that will carry them. Duck Commander was founded 40 years ago by Phil Robertson, the family patriarch who was recently suspended -- and then reinstated -- by A&E after...
