Ten years before Edward Snowden revealed his bombshell that the United States government was electronically spying on people on a massive scale there was Bay Area-resident Mark Klein. Nannett Miranda reports. Ten years before Edward Snowden revealed his bombshell that the United States government was electronically spying on people on a massive scale there was Bay Area resident Mark Klein. As a San Francisco-based AT&T technician in 2003, he installed a splitter that sent a copy of communications data to a secret room set up by the NSA in his South of Market office building. "I knew right away that...

A government unloosed from its authorizing document, in open revolt against the principles laid out and defined therein, with the will, intent and ability to execute citizens for trivial offenses, basically parking tickets (oops, forgot to feed the meter on the cattle) is, by definition, a domestic terrorist. The politicians and agents involved in such criminal activity as theft of property (water rights in U.S. v Hage a similar, but much more egregious case than the issue with Cliven Bundy) involving the BLM, determined by the judge to be involved in a criminal conspiracy is the definition of domestic terrorists....

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's office, the 32-year-old female called authorities around 7 p.m. yesterday to tell them that her ex-boyfriend had broken into her house and she had shot him. The victim says she went to her basement to smoke, when she realized that her ex-boyfriend was in the basement. He smashed her phone when she tried to call 911, before chasing her around the basement. The woman took a gun from her pocket and shot the 34-year-old in the leg. When he...

This obscure FBI unit does the domestic surveillance that no other intelligence agency can touch. With every fresh leak, the world learns more about the U.S. National Security Agency's massive and controversial surveillance apparatus. Lost in the commotion has been the story of the NSA's indispensable partner in its global spying operations: an obscure, clandestine unit of the Federal Bureau of Investigation that, even for a surveillance agency, keeps a low profile. When the media and members of Congress say the NSA spies on Americans, what they really mean is that the FBI helps the NSA do it, providing a...

That is the answer to the questions “Why Syria? Why now? How does this benefit America?” Obama’s war is a desperate attempt to keep his own most loyal supporters from noticing that his policies have ruined their lives and set their economic progress back decades. His policies have sent black Americans in particular hurtling back to the days of poverty and racial inequality. Obama is desperate to keep his own voters from noticing he is the worst thing to happen to them in their lifetimes. His socialist policies don’t solve poverty, they cause poverty. And it’s no surprise. Socialism, income...

Why all the monitoring when you're a good boy/girl,  following TOS...  Well, here's your answer: likely it wasn't Google at all, rather highly-politicized NSA snoops, hiding in the grass like the venomous snakes they are: __________________________________________________________ ...the US National Security Agency had apparently impersonated Google on at least one occasion to gather data on people.... Brazilian site Fantastico obtained and published a document leaked by Edward Snowden, which diagrams how a "man in the middle attack" involving Google was apparently carried out. A technique commonly used by hackers, a MITM attack involves using a fake security certificate to pose as a...

Every day it seems more like the "war on terror" is at home in the U.S. rather than abroad in a foreign country. Whether it's the NSA denying they scoop domestic communications while their chief tells hackers "we're looking for the terrorist among us," or it's the growing militarization and equipping of domestic police forces, it seems more and more crows keep coming home to roost. Well, one former Marine colonel has had about enough. In a rousing confrontation at a local council meeting in Concord, NH, he calls out his government for facilitating what he feels is a needless...

President Obama tells comedian Jay Leno that "We don’t have a domestic spying program." He made the comment during a taping of Leno's TV show. Obama also says the U.S. is not overreacting by closing some U.S. embassies for a week. The president tells Leno, "The odds of dying in a terrorist attack are a lot lower than they are of dying in a car accident, unfortunately." And the president says of Russia's Putin, "There are times when they slip back into Cold War thinking and Cold War mentality. What I continually say to them and to President Putin, that’s...

FBI agents arrested Shannon Elizabeth Guess Richardson (pictured) this morning in connection with the ricin-tainted letters sent to the White House and the offices of Michael Bloomberg and Mayors Against Illegal Guns. According to NPR (yes, that NPR) her husband and original person of interest Nathan Richardson has been cleared of suspicion. The FBI now believes that Shannon sent the poison letters as part of a plot to frame her husband and divorce him, and that the letters’ rants about gun control were a red herring. That’s right: guns, racism and gun control had nothing to do with the poisoned letters....

Last month, State Rep. Bob Hagan (D-Youngstown) introduced House Bill 160, a gun control bill that would force any person named in a domestic violence protection order to surrender their firearms to law enforcement within 24 hours. We quickly pointed out the many flaws with Hagan's proposal, including the fact that, by statistics Hagan himself cited, 20% of women who are killed by an "intimate partner" had previously obtained a "protection" order against their eventual killer. When asked to comment on the proposal, Buckeye Firearms Associatio Chairman Jim Irvine told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that HB 160 a "failed idea.""The idea...

They call it 'AUTONOMOUS REAL-TIME GROUND UBIQUITOUS SURVEILLANCE-IMAGING SYSTEM' for a reason!!! Rumors of an experimental 1.8-gigapixel surveillance video camera in development at DARPA -the ARGUS-IS- first surfaced in 2009. But PBS this year got hold of some actual video feeds- and they are indeed chilling. All it takes now is one lone unit circling an area half the size of Manhattan (at cca 15-20,000 ft.) to provide comprehensive video surveillance of every single inch. They are running a program on the moving objects, meaning generating structured data out of the video, not just displaying still/moving pictures. Just imagine drone-loving Dear Leader with a few hundred of these at...
