New Dog Genome Research Nixes Evolutionary Paradigm by Jeffrey Tomkins, Ph.D. * Evolutionists are desperate to find genomic evidence proving Darwinian ideas about natural selection and evolution. One of the chief areas where they have searched for such evidence is in the canine (dog) genome, by studying the DNA of both domestic and wild dogs. The basic paradigm describing the domestication of dogs is typically proposed as a two-phase process.1 In the first part, it is believed that dogs were originally taken from the wild as wolves by early humans who selected and bred different varieties that were useful for...

AUSTIN — A hearing for Lou Tierce, whose veterinary license was suspended in the wake of his arrest on animal cruelty charges, is under way with dozens of his supporters in the audience. Tierce’s attorney, Donald Ferrill of Fort Worth, also a licensed veterinarian, spoke first, saying there have been tales of a “vampire running a shop of horrors” but insisted that was not the case. Tierce’s clinic in west Fort Worth had been raided on April 29 after a woman filed a complaint with the state, saying a dog she took in to be euthanized was being kept alive...

Good people, not to mention good tippers, do exist. Christina Summitt knows that for sure now after what happened Saturday night. Whether a woof, ruff, yip, or yap, dogs bark dozens, if not hundreds, of times each day. Imagine if every pet canine in the U.S. -- all 83.3 million of them -- congregated. The chorus would be a postal worker's nightmare. Dogs sound off in almost any situation. Maybe the doorbell rang, or a stranger approached, or a bird fluttered nearby. Even with little to no obvious stimulation, dogs can bark incessantly. Behaviorist and biologist Raymond Coppinger once observed a dog that barked for seven hours straight, even though no other canines were within miles. Because dogs bark repetitively and...

We write articles all too often about things like animal cruelty and the mistreatment of cats. Clearly there are a lot of us out there that think cat laws in this country (and others) should be way more strict when it comes to their treatment. However, there are some laws out there that we’re not quite sure how became legal. They just seem so strange. Then again, states have the right to pass their own legislation so it is what it is. But trust us when we say these cat laws are super weird! Thanks to Bandofcats, Mustlovecats, and a...
