What's Soros' funded DA's up to these days?

VIDEO Fulton County (Atlanta) District Attorney Paul Howard drilled such a huge hole into his case by declaring a few weeks ago that a taser is a deadly weapon that the drilling even carried over into his interview with Wolf Blitzer. Yes, there is no escaping from the fact that the DA drilled a huge hole into his case that could easily undermine it. In fact, it is now almost certain that he will be called as a witness for the defense during the trial.

On Saturday, San Francisco voters elected the son of two former Weather Underground murderers to serve as their District Attorney. The voters deserve all the hell that is about to break loose. Progressive candidate Chesa Boudin wants to free criminals but prosecute police and ICE agents for doing their jobs. It's no surprise Boudin hates cops so much. His parents did, too. Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert were terrorists in the Weather Underground who murdered two police officers and a security guard during a 1981 robbery of a Brinks armored security car outside New York City. There should be a...

Socialist Bernie Sanders just endorsed the bleeding-heart candidate for San Francisco District Attorney who makes President Obama's Attorney General, Eric Holder, look like Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Meet Chesa Boudin. He's the Bay Area public defender and former shill/translator for the late Venezuelan dictator Hugo Chavez who plans to turn the craphole of San Francisco into an even bigger sanctuary for the homeless, drug abusers, illegal immigrants, gangsters, vandals, thieves, recidivist criminals and cop-haters than it is already. Boudin leads a spooky field of left-lefter-leftists running for DA on the Nov. 5 ballot. The cornerstone of Boudin's campaign is sabotaging immigration...

New York City prosecutors have subpoenaed President Donald Trump’s tax returns, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press on Monday. Manhattan District Attorney’s Cyrus Vance Jr.’s office recently sent a subpoena to Trump’s accounting firm seeking the last eight years of state and federal tax returns for Trump and his company, the Trump Organization, the person said. The person was not authorized to speak publicly about the matter and spoke on the condition of anonymity. Asked about the subpoena as he left the White House on Monday, Trump said: “I don’t know anything about it.” A lawyer...

Veteran Alabama law enforcement officer Mark Pettway grew up in a black neighborhood called “Dynamite Hill” because the Ku Klux Klan bombed so many houses there in the 1950s and ’60s. Now, after becoming the first black person elected sheriff in Birmingham — on the same day voters elected the community’s first black district attorney — Pettway sees himself as part of a new wave of officers and court officials tasked with enforcing laws and rebuilding community trust fractured by police shootings, mass incarceration, and uneven enforcement that critics call racist. In a state where conservative politicians typically preach about...

Philadelphia’s top prosecutor said Wednesday his office will stop jailing people who cannot afford to pay cash bail in minor criminal cases, affirming the commitment of the country’s fifth-largest city to a national movement that argues the practice targets poor Americans. District Attorney Larry Krasner said his decision to instruct city prosecutors not to seek a bail payment in a number of misdemeanor and non-violent felony crimes will correct a criminal justice system that discriminates against African-Americans, Latinos and poor people. “There is absolutely no reason why someone who will show up for court, is not a risk of flight,...

The Orange County Sheriff's Department is investigating a courthouse fight that broke out Wednesday between a District Attorney's investigator and a defense attorney who triumphed over prosecutors in a recent case involving jailhouse informants. The investigator and attorney got into an argument that turned physical around 10 a.m. in a hallway outside a 10th floor courtroom, Lt. Mark Stichter said. He didn't know what prompted the argument. But defense attorney James Crawford said he was attacked by a DA investigator he didn't recognize. "My back was to him and the next thing I know I find my head getting slammed...

"Sitting on the steps of the now infamous Ivy Apartments in Dallas this is the woman who Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan flew to the States to marry. Seen here for the first time, Louise Troh, 54, is pictured next to her nephew Jeffrey Cole, who arrived in Dallas from Liberia just days before Mr Duncan. Now both Ms Troh and Mr Cole are in quarantine along with her 13-year-old son and a friend. While 42-year-old Mr Duncan's life continues to hang in the balance, District Attorney Craig Watkins has revealed that his office is actively investigating whether or not...

Brooklyn District Attorney-elect Ken Thompson is happy to be taking Charles Hynes’ seat next week—but he says the veteran lawman can keep his throne. Thompson transition aide Arnie Kriss has told a Hynes staffer that Thompson wants the toilet seat in the district attorney’s private bathroom replaced, said a source close to the outgoing DA. “Kriss said Thompson wants a new toilet seat installed in the DA’s private bathroom because he doesn’t want to sit on the same toilet seat that Hynes sat on,” the source said. “You’d think he’d be worried about running the office, not about a toilet...

A New York state senator from Brooklyn was charged on Monday with stealing proceeds from sales of foreclosed properties to finance a failed run for district attorney, prosecutors said, making him the state’s latest politician to face federal criminal charges. John Sampson, 47, a Democrat who has represented southeastern Brooklyn since 1997, was charged with nine counts including embezzlement, obstruction of justice and making false statements to federal investigators, according to an indictment unsealed Monday. Sampson, a practicing attorney for more than two decades, turned himself in and was arraigned in Brooklyn federal court Monday afternoon. He pleaded not guilty,...

An investigation by the Riverside County District Attorney says it appears illegal meetings in violation of the Brown Act have been taking place inside city hall between City Manager Rick Daniels and three council members. The inevitable knee-jerk denial squirting out of city hall is that no Brown Act violations are taking place and nothing is wrong. No matter. The evidence is in hand, the result of our public information requests. The city manager’s own city email account is the smoking gun.

Everybody knows we like to laugh it up here on SoaresSpot on any number of different topics. But this is not one of those times. What I'm about to write below compels nothing other than sober awareness for Albany County voters. That's because there is no funny or jovial element to this story, no appropriately humorous images or photoshopping--absolutely nothing about this incident can be processed and construed that way. Notwithstanding our comprehensive absence of faith in everything about David Soares, this is truly stunning--even for him. In my lap I've this package somebody sent my way the other day....

Prosecutors are reportedly set to ask a judge to abandon the case against Dominique Strauss Kahn. Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance is preparing to ask that all charges against the former head of the IMF accused of attempting to rape hotel maid Nafissatou Diallo are dropped Tuesday. Such requests from the DA 'are never denied', an expert told the New York Post meaning Strauss-Kahn could finally return to his home country after being forced to remian in the U.S for months.

The hotel maid who claims former IMF boss Dominique Strauss-Kahn raped her has been accused of working as a prostitute. Allegations have emerged that the 32-year-old cleaner was was taking extra money from male guests at the hotel for sex. 'There is information... of her getting extraordinary tips, if you know what I mean. And it's not for bringing extra f**king towels,' a source close to the defence investigation told the New York Post. The woman also had 'a lot of her expenses – hair braiding, salon expenses – paid for by men not related to her,' the source added....

Sacramento -- Attorney General candidate Kamala Harris is battling increasing criticism of her performance as San Francisco district attorney both at home and on the campaign trail with only eight days left before the primary. On May 20, San Francisco Superior Court Judge Anne-Christine Massullo ripped into Harris, saying she violated defendants' rights by failing to disclose to defense attorneys damaging information about a police drug lab technician who's under investigation for allegedly skimming cocaine from evidence files. Problems intensified for Harris last week when The Chronicle disclosed that a toxicologist at the San Francisco coroner's office had been labeled...

Thursday, June 3rd, Galveston County District Attorney Kurt Sistruck will meet face-to-face with his opponent, Jack Roady, in a debate organized by the combined police officer associations of Galveston County. Question: Why? Why is the incumbent district attorney, who has heretofore been endorsed and supported by the very same police groups sponsoring this debate, being exposed to his challenger in a public forum like this? It is no secret that law enforcement in general is disenchanted with Mr. Sistruck and are adamant in their opinions that he has not been supportive of law enforcement during his seven years in office....

Incoming Manhattan DA Cyrus Vance Jr. has chosen as his chief gatekeeper disgraced former Gov. Eliot Spitzer's chief of staff, The Post has learned. The new DA intends to tap Marlene Turner, a longtime top Spitzer aide, to replace Ida van Lindt, who served as personal secretary to outgoing DA Robert Morgenthau and his predecessors. Vance's move to hire Turner wasn't mentioned in the lengthy staff rollout that Morgenthau's successor announced yesterday — but the move raised eyebrows among several long-time government hands as sending an odd message. "She is tied to everything Eliot," said one longtime government hand familiar...
