The relentless de-platforming of conservatives in general and of the David Horowitz Freedom Center specifically, continues. On March 3rd the Editors at FrontPage received an email from Disqus, the networked community platform used by hundreds of thousands of sites all over the web. The statement reads: It has come to our attention that your site is included in the Hate Groups listed on the Southern Poverty Law Center Hate Map: As fostering Hate is a violation of the Disqus Terms of Service and Basic Rules, we can no longer support your site on the Disqus network. Disqus will be removed...

Freepers, old and new, have posted and lurked here for years. But most of us also visit other sites and post commentary on myriad Disqus threads. Are you willing to disclose your Disqus user name? I'm Merry Misanthrope.

For the last hour or so, I have been unable to post comments on various conservative websites. At first, I was getting error messages pertaining to servers, and now I don't even get that far - just the spinning "Disqus is taking longer than expected" message. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Today, I’m happy to announce the release of our user blocking feature. As one of the most requested features from commenters over the years, user blocking provides you with the ability to manage who you interact with on Disqus. Blocking someone removes their activity from your experience across the network. This means that you’ll no longer get notifications from them via email or in your Disqus Inbox, nor will you see discussions or comments by them in your Home feed or on discussion threads.
  • Censorship in forums (Disqus)

While reading and commenting on stories at Breitbart, I ran into a disturbing occurrence of censorship with their linked, off-site discussion moderator, Disqus. Anyone have the 'shiznit' on this group/org?

TwinCities.com has switched its commenting system from Facebook to Disqus. You've probably seen this system - pronounced "discuss" - on dozens or hundreds of other sites. You might even already be one of Disqus's 1 billion users. There are many benefits in making the switch, including: •It does not require Facebook. You can log in with your Facebook account if you like, but you can also log in with Twitter, Google, or just an email address and password. •You can vote comments up or down; report offensive comments; and choose how to view comments -- only the best ones or...

The delete their posts which puts them into gues status. They then cannot be removed. Does anyone have a contact email for breitbart?
  • Top 5 reasons Disqus sucks – [venting vanity]

Proviso, I fully realise that FR doesn’t use that accursed system, but this is meant to be cautionary tale of sorts and as a warning to those of you who venture out and come across the devil’s spawn of commenting systems. (Also realise that I restricted my self to just 5 items to keep this vanity short and sweet – and to make it easier on myself to order the top 5). 5). Disqus allows trolls to change their names on the fly. This may seem strange to those who are used to FR where your screen name is your...

I sometimes go over to Fox News and their Discus comments section, following news stories and opinion pieces.Usually, I see a large group of right-of-center people, interspersed by the occasional 'honest liberal' (defined to me as someone who believes in leftwing causes but isn't totally nuts) or a few moonbats. However, today, following the Boehner-announced "House GOP Readies Ban on EPA Greenhouse Gas Regulations" article on Fox, I noticed that within hours the comment list had grown to 1900+, and many of these were vile, Democrat-underground-type moonbats, who declared things like "Republicans Worship Pollution" and other off-the-chain outrageous Chris-Matthews-type stuff. It occurs...
