LONDON — The continued flow of people along Europe’s migration trail, from Turkey and Greece to the Balkans to Scandinavia, faced new impediments on Monday as two of the northernmost destinations further tightened border controls in response to political, economic and logistical pressures. Sweden, once one of the most welcoming of nations for refugees, introduced new identity checks on Monday for travelers arriving from Denmark. Fearful that migrants who otherwise would pass through on their way to Sweden would now be unable to leave, Denmark swiftly moved to impose new controls on people traveling via its border with Germany.

Sweden has introduced identity checks for travellers from Denmark in an attempt to reduce the number of migrants arriving in the country. All travellers wanting to cross the Oresund bridge by train or bus, or use ferry services, will be refused entry without the necessary documents. Rail commuters heading to Sweden will now have to change trains at Copenhagen Airport and go through ID checkpoints. Sweden received more than 150,000 asylum applications in 2015. Thousands of commuters cross the Oresund bridge daily. It connects the Swedish cities of Malmo and Lund with the Danish capital, Copenhagen. To comply with the...

Scientific evidence of an ancient invasion of Scotland from Ireland may have been uncovered by DNA techniques. Researchers from Edinburgh University said studies of Scots living on Islay, Lewis, Harris and Skye found strong links with Irish people. Early historical sources recount how the Gaels came from Ireland about 500 AD and conquered the Picts in Argyll. Scientists said the study was the first demonstration of a significant Irish genetics component in Scots' ancestry. The research, which features work by geneticist Dr Jim Wilson, a specialist in population genetics, is being featured in programmes on Gaelic television channel BBC Alba....

Unlike its Scandinavian cousins, when it comes to welfare, Denmark has decided to treat its "migrants" the same way it treats real Danes. So, naturally, the Danish government is being compared to Nazis: The Danish government on Friday defended plans for police to search asylum-seekers' luggage for valuables and cash after they prompted international outrage and drew comparisons to Nazi Germany."I can see that some foreign media are pouring scorn over (the fact) that we in the future may withdraw asylum-seekers' valuables and demand that they should pay for their stay in asylum centres themselves," Integration Minister Inger Stojberg wrote...

Denmark passed a law on Sunday to confiscate jewelry from refugees in order to 'make ends meet', Swedish national public TV broadcaster STV reported. Justice and Immigration Minister Sören Pind had last week defended the move during a live news program on a state-run TV channel saying, "This way the revenue that is obtained can be used to meet the costs of the refugees." However, Pind underlined that wedding or engagement rings, watches and cell phones would not be confiscated, but all items with a value over 300 euros would be seized by the government. While the law is already...

To be sure, just about the last thing the EU needed was another blow to European solidarity. The monumental challenge of coping with the millions of refugees who have inundated the Balkans on their way to Germany has splintered the bloc and now, the debate on how best to deal with the flood of asylum seekers threatens to shatter the sacred Schengen ideal altogether. On Wednesday we reported that the EU has now threatened Greece with indefinite suspension from the Schengen passport-free travel zone unless it overhauls its response to the migration crisis by mid-December, as frustration mounts over Athens’...

I AM releasing the voice of many waters throughout my vessels of truth dressed in my righteousness bearing the oil of intimacy trimmed in humility and grace. BY Pat Chen: Problems can occur in the process of bringing God's vision to birth as well. Whether God has called His church to birth new souls into the kingdom or to bring forth a vision or...

Danish police have raised their country's threat level after the terror attacks in Paris. Like other European countries, the Danes fear that terrorists may target them for attacks. Only minutes after word came out that the Danes raised their threat level, Dutch media reported that Copenhagen Airport was partially cleared after a "suspicious bag" was found. Every passenger in Terminal 3 has been asked to leave, and the metro won't stop at the airport until the bag has been taken care of. Clearly, Danish authorities fear the bag may contain a bomb. Passengers who have already checked in are allowed...

Image via Shutterstock Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders has a good point — America needs to be more like Denmark and the other Scandinavian countries. But he’s wrong about the reason why. He thinks socialism is the cause of their success, but the true cause is their older free-market culture and their recent efforts to return toward market and economic freedom.Since the 1990s, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway have expanded private property rights, business freedom, investment freedom and financial freedom. Each of these countries has increased its score on the Heritage Foundation/Wall Street Journal Index of Economic Freedom [1],...

Income inequality is on the rise. The rich control more of the country's wealth. Union membership is falling. The ranks of the poor are growing. Sounds like the United States? Actually, it's Denmark. This tiny Scandinavian country has been in the spotlight in recent weeks. Bernie Sanders, who is running for president as a self-described social democrat, and Joseph Stiglitz, the Nobel-prize winning economist, have both pointed to Denmark as a model of equality and social welfare that the U.S. should follow. To be sure, Denmark still has one of the lowest rates of inequality and highest rates of economic...

For months, Scandinavian countries have accused Russian military planes and ships of slipping into their waters without permission. It’s made many Nordic governments wary of the Kremlin’s intentions in the Baltic Sea and the Arctic Ocean. Russia’s assertive behavior is driving Sweden and Finland — two countries that have never been part of NATO — closer to the alliance. At present, Norway, Denmark and Iceland make up NATO’s Nordic members. According to Anna Wieslander at the Atlantic Council: Denmark has played a key role, with some support from the United Kingdom, putting Baltic Sea security and the perspective of relevant...

With Bernie Sanders advocating socialism in America, and Hillary Clinton saying she “loves Denmark,” how do the people who actually live under socialism feel about their life? According to the meme above, socialism in Denmark isn’t going nearly as well as Americans think. The Blaze reports on how Socialism actually led to the death of millions of people in the 20th century:

DURABILITY IS BEING DRESSED IN THE RIGHTEOUSNESS of CHRIST JESUS Durability of My children comes as The Spirit of Truth washes away all fear of the enemy and the lies fall away . The government has defended its move to gradually phase out tax breaks on electric cars as a way to make things fairer for car owners, but the maker of Denmark’s most popular electric model has slammed the plan as anti-competitive and a death knell for the industry. A political agreement reached on Friday afternoon will see tax breaks on electric cars phased out over the next five years. As a result, the costs of some popular electric models will skyrocket. The hardest hit will be the luxury model Tesla S P85D, which will more than double in price from 875,000...

It had to be Denmark, didn’t it? If you are the sort of person who has better things to do — which is to say, a fully functioning adult who is not professionally obliged to follow these things — then you probably missed the exchange between Mrs. Clinton and Senator Sanders at last night’s debate, when she lectured him that the United States isn’t Denmark and he responded with a rousing defense of the Danish model. Never mind, for the moment, that neither of these batty old geezers has the foggiest idea of what’s going on in Denmark, or in...
