@OliviaNuzzi NYMagazine - A source close to the Biden campaign tells me his staff is “freaking out” about his poor performance tonight. The source said that internally, field staff says the campaign-organized debate watch parties in early voting states have been “awkward” and that Biden isn’t playing well to those who attended. According to Biden’s staff, he isn’t listening to his debate prep and he’s “set in his ways,” the source close to the campaign tells me.

The Democratic-controlled House on Wednesday approved a spending bill that included a reauthorization of the so-called Hyde Amendment barring federal money for abortions, despite a recent bubbling of vocal opposition to the amendment from liberals and 2020 Democratic presidential candidates. There was no direct, up-or-down vote on the Hyde Amendment itself. It was ensconced inside the spending package of Labor and Health and Human Services appropriations. It passed 226-203. No Republicans supported the spending bill. Six Democrats, including New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the progressive firebrand, voted against it. Asked about the Hyde Amendment, she told ABC News’ “This Week”...

The House of Representatives voted Tuesday to hold Bill Barr and Don McGahn in contempt of Congress. Both President Donald Trump’s attorney general and former White House counsel defied subpoenas from the House Judiciary Committee, and congressional Democrats followed through on threats to hold them in contempt. The lower chamber voted in favor of H. Res. 430 by a margin of 229-191 in what was a party line vote. (RELATED: AG Bill Barr Is Not Worried About His Reputation: ‘Everyone Dies’) Trump administration officials have come under fire for their handling of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report, which concluded that...

Democratic presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke mocked President Trump’s claims of victory in the recent deal reached with Mexico to avert his threatened tariffs – calling the president’s claims “overblown” and arguing that he has hurt the economic ties between Washington and its closest neighbor. “I think the president has completely overblown what he purports to have achieved. These are agreements that Mexico had already made and, in some case, months ago,” the former congressman from Texas said on ABC’s “This Week.” “They might have accelerated the timetable, but by and large the president achieved nothing except to jeopardize the most...

RUSH: Now, let me move on from some of these stories about Trump and the U.K. I think half the protests in the U.K. are bought and paid for, by the way, either by the Brits or by the Americans. I think half of it’s phony. The stupid mayor over there is writing op-eds and saying blasphemous things, comparing Trump to Hitler and the Nazis and so forth. It’s just absurd. And yet the president’s going through with this and fighting back as he always does. But back here in the United States the Democrat Party continues to not know...

President Trump slammed Democrats as the “Do Nothing Party” Thursday morning on the heels of a contentious meeting with Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, claiming they're too focused on investigations into his administration to make progress on policy priorities like infrastructure. “The Democrats have become known as THE DO NOTHING PARTY!” Trump tweeted. A day earlier, House Speaker Pelosi accused Trump of having a "temper tantrum" when he abruptly ended a meeting on infrastructure and proceeded to address the press in the Rose Garden, demanding Democrats end their “phony investigations” before they can negotiate on infrastructure.

Vice correspondents Lani Levine and Elle Reeve have been accused of breaking into a bedroom in the Philippines home of 8Chan owner Jim Watkins with a camera crew. The accusation was made by the verified 8Chan Twitter account, which said that the reporters and their crew entered Watkin’s bedroom before being ordered out of the property. Reeve is best known for her work in the Charlottesville documentary for Vice News. Earlier this month Vice published an article about 8Chan referring to it as the place where “racists get radicalized.” “Sites like 8chan and others where racists can get radicalized online...

Two, the 2020 progressive agenda -- whether defined as the Green New Deal, a wealth tax, Medicare for All or open borders -- will not compete well with Trump's currently booming economy. Impeaching Trump for collusion and obstruction is seen by progressives as the best (or perhaps only) way to return to power. That effort so far is failing, causing even more hysteria. Three, the Mueller investigation is over, finished after 22 months, $34 million and a 448-page, two-volume report. There will be no indictments of Trump for either collusion or the obstruction of justice during the investigation of that...

Democratic Connecticut Sen. Richard Blumenthal is demanding that Attorney General William Barr “retract his unfounded, irresponsible claim that American law enforcement ‘spied’ on the Trump Campaign.” Blumenthal made the remarks in a Wednesday tweet and insisted that “the only spies interfering in the 2016 campaign were Russian ones.”

Campaigning for president in Iowa, Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke thinks farmers need to do their "fair share" to combat global warming, handing over some of their crops to save the Earth. Kid you not. According to Breitbart News: Democrat 2020 presidential candidate Robert "Beto" O'Rourke proposed Friday in Iowa that the U.S. "allow" farmers to give up their "fair share" of crops to fight climate change. O'Rourke stood aloft as he proclaimed his message at a rally in Marshalltown, Iowa Friday: If we allow farmers to earn a profit in what they grow, if we allow them to contribute their...

Sen. Bernard Sanders has amassed a presidential campaign team of pit bulls skilled in the art of internal party warfare — and in many cases is still grinding axes over the way he was treated by the Democratic Party in his 2016 run for the White House. Three members of his team didn’t even back Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee, and instead supported the Green Party in the general election.

Multiple Democratic lawmakers this week replaced POW/MIA flags outside their Capitol Hill offices with a Transgender Equality flag to commemorate “Trans Visibility Week,” photos show. The move reportedly came at the behest of the “National Center for Transgender Equality.” The group tweeted Tuesday that it had delivered the flags to every member of Congress – even Republicans – with the request that they be flown outside their offices. Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted a photo of his office with the transgender flag displayed, writing: "Discrimination has no place in our society. I am proud to display this flag as a...

An effort led by Democrats to scrap or bypass the Electoral College and shift presidential elections to contests decided by the national popular vote has almost no chance of succeeding, guaranteeing Democrats will again have to defeat Trump in the Electoral College they lost in 2016 while winning more votes nationally. The Electoral College places the power to elect presidents in the hands of individual states and is enshrined in the Constitution.

Republican Florida Sen. Marco Rubio announced Tuesday on Twitter his intention to introduce a constitutional amendment that would permanently keep the number of Supreme Court justices at nine. “We must prevent further destabilization of essential institutions,” Rubio tweeted. “Court packing is quickly becoming a litmus test for 2020 Democratic candidates. Therefore I will be introducing a constitutional amendment to keep the number of seats on #SCOTUS at 9.”

FULL TITLE: Linda Sarsour Explains How She Influenced Democratic Leadership To Scrap Original Anti-semitism Resolution Women’s March co-founder Linda Sarsour explained Friday how she and other left-wing organizers influenced the final language of the “anti-hate” resolution that passed the House Thursday night. The resolution, initially launched as a rebuke exclusively against anti-Semitism following remarks made by Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar, was later broadened to include all forms of bigotry. Sarsour in her video took credit for convincing House Democratic leadership for “expanding the language of the resolution to include condemning all forms of bigotry.” The Women’s March co-founder attacked...

President Trump's emergency declaration Nearly every House Democrat on Friday opposed a measure condemning voting in U.S. elections by illegal immigrants, as part of a sweeping election reform bill. The GOP-backed measure would have added language to the “H.R. 1” election proposal stating that “allowing illegal immigrants the right to vote devalues the franchise and diminishes the voting power of United States citizens.” Federal law already prohibits non-citizens from voting in elections for federal office. But the GOP motion referenced how San Francisco is allowing non-citizens, including illegal immigrants, to register to vote in school board elections. The motion was...

Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz on Monday called on Democrats to make sure controversial Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., is defeated in the next primary because she continues to antagonize Jewish lawmakers and Jewish Americans. "The Democrats must marginalize her and distance her from the center of the party," Dershowitz, who is Jewish, said on Fox News. "And I hope she'll be primaried, and she should be beaten in a primary by people who support the United States and people who support American allies, rather than people who support American enemies." Omar has been accused of anti-Semitism after charging that...

The Democrat Party is now defined by Ilhan Omar, Ralph Northam, Rashida Tlaib, Joy Reid, Elizabeth Warren, Dianne Feinstein, and Louis Farrakhan. The Democrat Party is now the Party of Hate. Let’s start with what’s happening in Virginia. Ralph Northam, the sitting Democrat governor, and Mark Herring, the sitting Democrat attorney general, have both admitted to putting on blackface as adults. Young adults, but adults nonetheless. They are both white, they are both still in power, and they will remain in power. Meanwhile, Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax (D-VA), a black man, is systematically having his life, career, and reputation dismantled...
