Lois Lerner, the IRS official implicated in the agency's illegal targeting of conservative groups for discriminatory treatment, came out strongly against the suggestion by House Republicans Rep. Peter Roskam (R-Ill) and Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) that the Department of Justice look into the matter. "The reopening of an incident occurring five years ago will only stir up unnecessary interest in something that cannot be undone," Lerner pleaded. "The animosity that will be unfairly directed at me for misdeeds perpetrated by subordinates without my knowledge is risky. It would expose me to harassment and possible harm without really righting any of...

DENVER (AP) — Colorado's legislative leaders knew they faced a hard sell when they unveiled a bipartisan measure to ask voters for a sales tax hike and a bond issue to generate billions of dollars for transportation. That hard sell was on full display before the Democrat-led House initially approved the bill on party lines Thursday. Even after that approval, Republicans kept trying to change the bill.

Today’s Morning Joe had some good advice for Democrats if they want to start winning again, particularly at the House level. They need to stop imposing ideological purity tests on their candidates and nominate candidates who resonate culturally in swing districts. The good news for Republicans is that there is no sign that Dems will heed that wise counsel. To the contrary, Morning Joe was replete with indications that Dems have forgotten how to win, preferring to go down with their liberal guns a-blazing. Excerpts: View the video here.

The California congresswoman also vowed to keep pushing for the release of the President’s tax returns at the D.C. Tax March Congresswoman Maxine Waters was front and center calling for the impeachment of President Donald Trump during the Tax March in Washington on Saturday. Protests took place in more than 150 cities across the country, urging the president to release his tax returns. Leading the D.C. crowd with chants of “impeach 45”, Auntie Maxine took the opportunity to push the campaign she started soon after Trump took office. “I don't respect this president. I don't trust this president. He's not...

Berkeley and before, the scathing history of socialism, which is exactly what the Dementiacrat of today is ... have shown their true colors. The means are always, when the mortar of desperation morphs to a hardened violation, without exception violent. Free speech strangled, showered with propaganda and opposition disappearing in the middle of the night. And streets littered with brain matter swept clean with good tidings and fanatic smiles before the morning light. Anything goes and everything is ignored amidst the clicking of champagne glasses celebrating the end. Do it, leftists. We’re at the starting gate chomping on the bit...

The good news is that Jon Ossoff is succeeding in making the race for Georgia’s 6th Congressional District competitive. The bad news is that he’s probably not going to be going to the House of Representatives. According to a newly released poll, the 30-year-old Democrat will likely fall short of the 50 percent vote share in Tuesday’s election he needs to win the race outright. While Ossoff leads the crowded field of mostly Republicans vying to replace Republican Tom Price, who vacated the seat in February to serve as Trump’s Health and Human Services secretary, he is currently only polling...

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democrats had hoped the one big policy area they could find common ground with President Donald Trump on was infrastructure, but they don't like what they're hearing from administration officials about the transportation portion of the plan that's still in the works. Trump has promised to generate $1 trillion in infrastructure spending over 10 years. With two of his other top campaign pledges in trouble - an effort to repeal and replace the Obama administration health care law has failed so far, and without savings to the government from health care changes there may not be enough...

After painful November 2016 losses, Washington Democrats still appear committed to devoting resources to strongholds like California, instead of responding to party pleas to put time and money into Middle America to reconnect with disaffected voters. . . . “We have to talk to those people who take a shower after work, not those who just take a shower before work,” Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan said after the losses and amid his subsequent, failed effort to replace California Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi as House minority leader. He also joined fellow party members in saying Democratic leaders had become too...

On Saturday, protesters plan to gather in cities across the United States, and around the world, to demand that President Trump release his tax returns, in an early test of the strength and staying power of the grassroots movement that has mobilized in opposition to the new administration. The tax marches are expected to be the biggest political demonstration to take place since the Women’s March in January. But they’re not likely to match the record turnout of that event, which has been estimated to be the largest mass mobilization ever recorded in a single day in United States history....

Democrats have turned to Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson to help get voter to rise up and flip Georgia’s 6th District on Tuesday. In a radio ad that launches Saturday, Jackson calls on voters to back a Democrat to send a message to Donald Trump. “Remember what happened the last time people stayed home: We got stuck with Trump,” he said. The ad, funded by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, does not mention Jon Ossoff’s name. But it’s clearly aimed at helping his candidacy as he tries to secure a majority of the vote Tuesday in the 18-candidate field to...

This week, former Hillary Clinton spokeswoman Jennifer Palmeri agreed that media bias exists, but maintained that “this makes it tougher on Democrats.” “Look, when CNN or the New York Times portray Republicans as the scum they are the bar is set comfortably low,” She argued. “All any Republican has to do to rise above the bar is: nothing. The mere absence of the usual crime, corruption and depravity puts them in a more positive light than they really deserve.” “The bar is set much higher for Democrats,” Palmeri said. “We are expected to deliver all-star caliber performances on a daily...

he Black Lives Matter organization is a bunch of lawless, evil, racist and hate-generating scum, extremely bad for America Okay, so I am in Georgia with the Conservative Campaign Committee team working to defeat far-left-radical Democrat Jon Ossoff in the special election for the GOP congressional seat. Our CCC team was standing on a street corner waving “Defeat Ossoff” signs. A black woman pedestrian approached one of our team members to say she likes Ossoff because he believes Black Lives Matter. She asked our white team member if he supports Black Lives Matter. Our guy politely replied that he believes...

For someone who styles herself an advocate of diversity, Joy Reid has a funny way of shutting down diverse voices. Legal Insurrection has documented how in the past she has silenced and even ejected guests who ran afoul of her speech codes. Back at it today, Reid reprimanded Republican consultant Katon Dawson for referring to the “Democrat” party. “On this show, we say Democratic,” instructed Reid, telling Dawson that “we’re going to have to sit down. We’re going to have a talking-to.” Being lectured by Joy Reid: now there’s something to look forward to! View the video here.

An Arizona Democrat said that he "wanted to punch" a female Republican colleague in the state legislature "in the throat" over the passage of school choice legislation she introduced . . . Lesko's bill, passed by the legislature and signed by Republican Gov. Doug Ducey last week, made all of Arizona's students eligible for the state's voucher system. Rubalcava is currently under investigation by the Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission for possible violations during the 2016 election

Some of the biggest blows to the progressive cause in the past year have often been due to the votes of white men. If white men were not allowed to vote, it is unlikely that the United Kingdom would be leaving the European Union, it is unlikely that Donald Trump would now be the President of the United States, and it is unlikely that the Democratic Alliance would now be governing four of South Africa's biggest cities. If white men no longer had the vote, the progressive cause would be strengthened. It would not be necessary to deny white men...

President Donald Trump has not given up on the holy grail of repealing Obamacare, and on Wednesday he revealed his next move, threatening to use health insurance subsidies as a weapon to get Democrats to negotiate on reform. Trump said his administration may not have the legal authority to make cost-sharing reduction payments, in an interview with the Wall Street Journal. So-called CSR subsidies reduce out-of-pocket costs for low-income Affordable Care Act enrollees, but Republicans in Congress sued the Obama administration, saying they expenditures were not authorized under the ACA. The president is clearly aware of the impact it would...

After Trump bombed a Syrian airbase in retaliation to a chemical weapons attack the democrats and mainstream media have been singing Trump’s praises. Tucker Carlson had democrat strategist Al Mottur on his show to explore why the democrats are now supportive of war. “When did the democrat party become the war party,” Carlson asked. “Of course we’re not happy we are moving toward war. My point is that I’m happy that this administration is taking Russia seriously and Secretary Tillerson sent the right signals today in his meeting with the foreign minister,” democrat strategist Mottur replied… Carlson continued, “The Prime...

There is no greater feeling than winning. And for Trump supporters, it is indeed Christmas every day. The pipelines are getting built. Abortionists and their organizations are losing funding. Congress has restored and respected the sovereignty of the several states. It’s safe to purchase and own a fire arm. Neil Gorsuch has been confirmed. The other appointments to Trump’s cabinet are opening a new wave of policy changes and enforcement. However, these winning appointments have exposed an embarrassment of riches. As conservatives move up the chain of command, someone has to take their place. Indeed, like Dorothy Gale reaching the...

What does #Resistance really mean? It means the overthrow of our government. In this century, Democrats rejected the outcomes of two presidential elections won by Republicans. After Bush won, they settled for accusing him of being a thief, an idiot, a liar, a draft dodger and a mass murderer. They fantasized about his assassination and there was talk of impeachment. But elected officials gritted their teeth and tried to get things done. This time around it's "radically" different. The official position, from the Senate to the streets, is "Resistance." Leftist media outlets are feeding the faithful a fantasy that President...
