I am my mothers care giver. She has been a lifelong Democrat. She is blind. She said she didn't want to vote but I noticed her mail in ballot was prefilled just yesterday. Is this legal and how can I find out if my mother voted? No wonder the local Democratic people were calling and stopping by her house wanting her ballot.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said socialism is “not the view” of the Democratic Party. In an interview with the CBS program “60 Minutes” that aired Sunday, the California Democrat said that lawmakers on her side of the aisle “know that we have to hold the center.” “I do reject socialism,” Pelosi added. “If people have that view, that’s their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party.” Pelosi’s comments come as members of the party who embrace some of the ideas behind socialism become more outspoken. Presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt, who has long called himself a...

The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) has officially endorsed Bernie Sanders for president, with the organization throwing its growing political clout behind the Vermont senator ahead of the 2020 election. The DSA’s National Political Committee leadership team voted to back Sanders during a meeting on Thursday night, after the rank-and-file membership had earlier overwhelmingly pledged their support. The backing of the DSA will provide a further fillip to Sanders, who quickly outraised most of his rivals for the Democratic nomination. The DSA endorsed Sanders in 2016 and helped the leftwing candidates Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Rashida Tlaib win long-shot elections to...

MANCHESTER, N.H. — New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand officially entered the ever-growing pool of Democratic presidential hopefuls Sunday, ending the two-month-long exploratory phase of her campaign saying she’s running for the White House to make “big, bold, brave choices.” “Our anthem asks a question, forcing every generation to make a choice,” Gillibrand says in a video released Sunday morning. “Will brave win? Let’s answer for ours." **SNIP** After Sunday’s video announcement, Gillibrand heads to Michigan on Monday for an MSNBC town hall with Chris Hayes; to Iowa on Tuesday and Wednesday; and to Nevada on Thursday. She’ll then cap off...

Alberta Premier Rachel Notley’s election commissioner is taking another run at us. They’ve sent us another threat letter. First, just a reminder of what this is about: Last month, Notley’s hand-picked commissioner declared that we at The Rebel weren’t legally journalists, but rather, because we criticized Notley and the Alberta NDP, we were actually a political campaign group. So we had to register with the government. We were convicted of this "offence" in secret trial. We still have not been shown a copy of the complaint against us. Notley’s commissioner proposed a $5,500 fine, and warned us that we could...

**SNIP** But heading into next week’s midterm elections, something has changed: Democrats apparently are no longer asking the former president to campaign with them. The New York Times drew attention to this in a Friday story headlined, “No one wants to campaign with Bill Clinton anymore.” The paper noted Clinton’s absence on the campaign trail comes amid the #MeToo movement – and renewed scrutiny on his sexual indiscretions as president – as well as the rise of the liberal wing of the Democratic Party.

Just over a month away from critical elections across the country, the wide Democratic enthusiasm advantage that has defined the 2018 campaign up to this point has disappeared, according to a new NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll. In July, there was a 10-point gap between the number of Democrats and Republicans saying the November elections were "very important." Now, that's down to 2 points, a statistical tie.

Full Title: Surprise: Democratic Operative Admits Derailing Kavanaugh is Really About 'Saving' the Supreme Court from Trump Brian Fallon is a former top spokesman for Hillary Clinton's failed presidential campaign, a confidante to Sen. Chuck Schumer, and an-ex senior official in Eric Holder's Justice Department. He's also now the public face of a left-wing group devoted to defeating President Trump's judicial nominees, with the most urgent priority being doing whatever is necessary to prevent Republicans from filling the current Supreme Court vacancy. In an interview with the New York Times, Fallon unambiguously admits what the Brett Kavanaugh destruction project is...

Since the election, there has been ample speculation about how Trump “happened.” Last week, Obama offered his hypothesis: resentment and paranoia on the right. He lamented the destruction of the Republican Party and the ensuing demise of America because of the divisiveness and bigotry propagated by the president and those who support him. It seems that most on the left agree with Obama’s view. Progressives purport that enthusiasm for Trump is bolstered by “white fragility”— an insecurity that white voices, once dominant, are now being drowned out by increasingly influential minority groups bolstered by demographic changes. Trump is their “white...

A state Senate candidate in Brooklyn vying to unseat an eight-term incumbent by riding the coattails of Democratic Socialist superstar Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has come under fire for allegedly embellishing stories about her past. Julia Salazar’s campaign to defeat Sen. Martin Dilan in Sept. 13 Democratic primary has been filled with falsities and contradictions, including claims of a being a Colombian-born “proud immigrant” of an economically distressed, working-class family. In reality, the 27-year-old insurgent progressive is a US-born. former anti-abortion Republican who grew up in a middle class-household in Florida, according to records and various media reports. Her mother and brother...

Fifty years ago tonight, a great American political party was murdered by its own children and closest friends. The party in question was the Democratic party of Franklin Roosevelt, Harry Truman, and JFK, which perished during the riots in Grant Park, Chicago, on the night of Aug. 28, 1968, in the midst of the party’s national convention. Its children in this case were the rioters from the anti–Vietnam War Left. After killing off the traditional liberal Democratic party they despised, they would go on to take over the corpse and make it the host of America’s radical Left, from Jerry...

We’ve been hearing it for months: the blue wave is coming. The Democrats are going to retake the House. The Democratic ballot advantage is significant. Well, if that does occur, a blue wave, congressional Democrats will move to impeach President Trump on bogus charges. There is still zero evidence to suggest the president’s campaign colluded with the Russians. Oh, what about campaign finance? The Obama campaign was fined for violations. Did he ever face impeachment charges? It’ll be a circus, a pervasive parade of nonsense, hyperbole, and liberal whining the likes of which we’ve never seen. And we’ve seen a...

**SNIP** That mockery looked set to continue this week after she took a leisurely stroll through Maine’s Acadia National Park, and declared it -- along with other benign Sunday stops -- an example of democratic socialism. She cited not only her visit to the park, but also eating a breakfast sandwich at a cafe co-op, and “supporting worker-owned businesses.” She also added as a “bonus” that she spotted a Planned Parenthood branch “helping people, per usual.” She posted a number of accompanying pictures -- including her relaxing under a bridge, and another of her smiling outside the aforementioned Planned Parenthood...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “All In,” Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) stated that, despite winning the Democratic primary, he will run for re-election in 2018 as an Independent. Sanders said, “I have always run as an Independent, and that’s what I will do. And I think people in Vermont understand that. We have a very good relationship with the Democratic Party. I suspect that this coming campaign we’ll be putting more money — our campaign will be putting more money into the Vermont Democratic Party than anybody else and supporting a whole lot of good Democratic candidates.” Host Ali Velshi...

I stand by my prediction of Republicans picking up 11 seats in the Senate. The most recent generic survey results should make Democrats queasy. The path of generic number charts are eerily like they were in 2010 and 2014 which is very bad news for the Democrats. The current average of the four newest generic surveys shows a sharp drop in the Democrats’ lead. While the Democrats’ led by 6 points two weeks ago, it has dropped to just 2.25% now. This basically means Democrats are losing since they have to have a lead of more than 6 points in...

Socialism: Since the Democratic Party took a turn for the worse toward so-called democratic socialism, the party's leading lights have laid the promises on pretty thick. Free Medicare for all! Guaranteed income! Guaranteed jobs! Subsidized housing! Free college! Universal pre-school! Wow, and all for free. Well, not exactly. In a devastating piece that appeared on the left-of-center web site Vox (to its credit), Manhattan Institute fellow Brian Riedl went through the simple math of what free actually costs. It's a lot. It's not just the free aspect, but the fact that the democratic socialists have made so many promises that...

FRANCISCO — By the time Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took the stage in San Francisco on Tuesday night, an adoring crowd of 500 at her sold-out fundraiser — many wearing “Democratic Socialists of America” T-shirts and buttons — were ready for the next revolution to begin. **SNIP** Three thousand miles away from the site of her improbable June defeat of 10-term Rep. **SNIP** “None of them implemented socialism in way that actually adhered to tenets because, in general, leaders become corrupt by power,” said Jason Marczak, a fellow at the Atlantic Council who specializes in Latin America. “Venezuela is not socialist; it’s a dictatorship.” Reich argues that Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua, to name a few countries, did start out with revolutionary-minded leaders who described themselves as socialist and who pledged to drive out government corruption, distribute financial resources and broaden access to social programs. Instead, Reich said, the leaders mismanaged the government, making life more difficult and sending economies into downward spirals....
