The point that many people seem to be missing in the Florida Senate saga is that this whole mess actually has very little to do with Rep. Kendrick Meek-- it's all about a much broader fear among senior Democrats that they may be about to lose control of the chamber. The real story is how bad the broader electoral map has gotten for Democrats. Top Democratic officials privately are getting increasingly worried they'll lose the Senate. They've reviewed private polling numbers that suggest Sen. Patty Murray of Washington has a razor-thin lead of about two points over Republican Dino Rossi....

CNN, a few minutes ago in 'The Situation room" tried very hard to "explain" the democrats in their attack ads... under a title "Outrageous Campaign ads." One of the "chiefs" starring in the attack ads is that infamous Frl. Sentaor (Grayson) trying to "Taliban-ize" his Rep. opponent. My point is that this is one field where Democrats "won," who's more dirty. I wonder if the right can use the entire demonization-campaign-by-the-Democrats, as a theme in and of itself. In 2000, Slate magazine said of Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal: “Blumenthal is blessed with every political virtue except recklessness and luck.” Well, we now know he has one, just not the other. Responding to the bombshell New York Times report that he lied about his military service record in various public speeches over the years, Blumenthal admitted Tuesday he has "misspoken" in claiming he served in Vietnam.
