It wouldn't be a stretch of the truth to say that everyone enjoys a nice trip to the park. Kids. Adults. Lovers. Families. Even ghosts. Rhode Island resident Scott Denton has supposed proof of the latter in the form of a one minute and 20-second video of what appears to be a ghost on a swing while he and his children watch in terror from the safety of their truck. The video, which Denton posted to social media on June 28, now has well over six million views. Video at website.

The Ken Starr (yes, that Ken Starr) image rehabilitation tour has begun, with Starr joining the calls for transparency from Baylor’s Board of Regents. He’s urging the regents to release the full Pepper Hamilton report into how Baylor created a culture so blind that administrators believed rape “doesn’t happen here” and so toxic that women who reported they were assaulted were put through hell. Starr’s even gone so far as to say he resigned as chancellor so he could speak more freely about what happened at the university.

  • Trump Says His 'Rich' Muslim Friends Could Enter Country Under A Ban

When pressed by Matthews, Trump added, "I have, actually, believe it or not, I have a lot of friends that are Muslim and they call me. In most cases, they're very rich Muslims." "But do they get into the country?" Matthews then asked. "Oh, they'll come in," Trump responded, later adding that the ban will have exceptions.

When he died on September 7, 2012, theoretical physicist Claud W. Lovelace left behind a house filled with parakeets. With no family or close companions, the eccentric Rutgers professor loved to be surrounded by his colorful fine-feathered friends and listen to classical music as he contemplated the nuances of unified field theory. A loner not particularly close to his colleagues, members of the Physics and Astronomy department were astounded and delighted when he willed his entire fortune of $1.5 million to it. The funds were used to help establish endowed positions in practical fields of physics, a far cry from...

Everyone’s talking about the presidential debate this morning, so I thought I’d open up the conversation here. I loved this photo on RedState.com., taken afterward. Click to enlarge… Here are close-ups of the facial expressions, lol. Click both photos to enlarge… There wasn’t much said on the life issue last night, although President Obama did make a strange comparison between Wall Street reform and living wills: We stepped in and had the toughest reforms on Wall Street since the 1930s. We said you’ve got – banks, you’ve got to raise your capital requirements. You can’t engage in some of this...

Just got the update to FF 13. The first things I noticed was when I hit the new tab, it had updated sample pages of a bunch of my previously visited pages. You can click on one, or do your normal url thing. Very cool. The next thing I noticed was when I got on Free Republic. I use the mouse wheel to scroll down, and it seems a lot smoother. There is a flicker, but the smoothness is worth a little flicker. Maybe, the scrolling thing is just my imagination. I need to go get some sleep. :-)

ABBEVILLE, La. — The narrow, brick chimney of a Louisiana bank became his tomb for 27 years and now Joseph Schexnider will be laid to rest Sunday in a proper grave with a proper farewell by his family. Still, his brother Robert wonders, how did he wind up in that chimney? Didn't anyone hear any cries for help? Was it a robbery attempt gone awry, an accident or something more sinister?... [snip] "Everybody has an opinion," said Lt. David Hardy, chief of investigations for the Abbeville Police Department. "But no one has evidence to say one way or another." If...

AKA "Somehow, the Unemployed Became Invisible" Here's the key paragraph: "Why populist anger over the poor economy is leaning right, rather than left this time around is a bit of a mystery. Perhaps it is because Democrats, traditional friends of labor, control the White House and the Senate."

The following story was told to me by the woman who rented my parents their first home in California when they moved to Sacramento in 1939. A devout Catholic (so much so that although she had been divorced by her husband, she did not consider the divorce valid and did not remarry until her husband died many years later) the landlady swore on her Bible, in front of my sister and me after she told us the story, that it was absolutely true. She was quite serious about it. In the 1970s, I personally confirmed some of the more mundane...

This amazing image on Google Earth could be the elusive proof that the Loch Ness Monster exists. Sun reader Jason Cooke spotted "Nessie" while browsing the Web site's satellite photos. The shape seen on the surface of the 22-mile Scottish loch is 65ft long and appears to have an oval body, a tail and four legs or flippers. Some experts believe Nessie may be a Plesiosaur, an extinct marine reptile with a shape like the Google image. "This is really intriguing. It needs further study," said researcher Adrian Shine, of the Loch Ness Project. Sightings have been claimed for centuries....
