Public Policy Polling's first Connecticut poll of 2014 finds Dan Malloy with an 8 point lead for reelection over Republican foe Tom Foley, 43/35. Independent Joe Visconti is polling at 9%. More than 320 of the thousands of immigrant children who have streamed across the U.S. border from Central American countries have been placed with relatives living in Connecticut, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy said. Some activists in New Haven have pressed the administration to make the former Gateway Community College property available to house the children. One student is dead and another is charged with murder after a stabbing at a high school in Milford on Friday morning. The fatal stabbing happened at the Jonathan Law High School on Lansdale Avenue.
