Here we go again. Another conservative speaker has been disinvited from speaking at a "tolerant" progressive university. This time, it's Milwaulkee County Sheriff David Clarke. Clarke, who was initially invited by the University of New Haven to give a talk about forensics (after all, he works in law enforcement), has been disinvited because of "circumstances." Those "circumstances" likely have to do with Clarke's conservative viewpoints, support for Donald Trump and criticism of Black Lives Matter. From Sheriff Clarke's blog: We accepted, began planning for the trip — my assistant exchanged over a dozen emails in July about booking flights and hotel. Then...

Democrats and the dominant media assure us that vote fraud doesn’t exist, so we certainly don’t need voter ID, and in fact it would be racist to demand as much proof of identity as is necessary to board an airplane or buy a drink. Nevertheless, a Democrat state representative in Connecticut was arrested for allegedly voting 19 times. ... State Rep. Christina “Tita” Ayala, D-Bridgeport, was arrested Friday on 19 voting fraud charges. Ayala, 31, is accused of voting in local and state elections in districts she did not live,

Before reading Hillary Rodham's assessment of the old radical from Chicago — Alinsky's “compelling personality,” “his exceptional charm,” and the limitations of his “anachronistic” tactics — it’s important to understand how the document was sealed... ... Just as conservative authors have speculated, it was the Clintons who asked Wellesley in 1993 to hide Hillary Rodham's senior thesis from the first generation of Clinton biographers, according to her thesis adviser and friend, professor Alan H. Schechter, who describes taking the call from the White House. Wellesley's president, Nannerl Overholser Keohane, approved a broad rule with a specific application: The senior thesis...

It came on the hottest day of the year in the state and just 48 hours before a $33,400-per-plate fundraiser for Hillary Clinton in Greenwich. The William H. Pitt Center, the university’s basketball arena, felt more like a sauna, with 4,000 to 5,000 people wreaking havoc on the air conditioning. Outside, an overflow crowd listened to an unscripted Trump hurl insults at “crooked Hillary and Connecticut’s governor, Dannel P. Malloy, while protesters dotted a nearby intersection.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) says Donald Trump's controversial line about "Second Amendment people" qualifies as an assassination threat against Hillary Clinton. [Snip] Murphy was addressing a remark Trump made earlier Tuesday about what kind of Supreme Court justices Clinton would appoint as president. "Hillary wants to abolish, essentially abolish, the Second Amendment," he said. "By the way, if she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks. "Although the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know," Trump added. Other Democrats joined Murphy in condemning Trump's remarks.

Just hours before Donald Trump was set to give his acceptance speech for the Republican presidential nomination in Cleveland, one of his third-party challengers rallied supporters in Stamford Thursday night. About 150 people turned out to see Green Party presumptive presidential nominee Jill Stein at the Stamford Innovation Center. Nearly all in attendance were former supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders. In a 45-minute speech reminiscent of the long, fiery, policy-heavy speeches delivered by Sanders during his campaign, Stein called on his former supporters to join her in continuing the political revolution he started.
